OMG I could kiss your whole face (LOL) -- This is exactly what I needed!! Something so "seemingly easy", yet I've tried 3 different recipes over the past week -- 1st one had me simmer for 25 to 30 mins (this caused it to crystallize/harden when cooled) -- another added vanilla (this came out better and was decent day 1 but after 2 days the vanilla became too prominent and just changed the overall flavor to something entirely different -- not "bad" just not what I wanted) -- but THIS, this is the one! *I used dark brown sugar since it's what I had, but the Maple Syrup was definitely what was needed -- THANK YOU!!! ❤
Hi there, thanks for the recipe, but what would the measurements be to fill the jar with syrup? I noticed the measurements you made were only for a tiny bit in the bottle? do you have the measurements for a bigger batch?
Hi Junie! You can find the full recipe here: homebodyeats.com/starbucks-brown-sugar-syrup-recipe/ The recipe makes about 1 cup of syrup. On my website I have a button that allows you to double or triple a recipe. I'd do that if you're looking for a large batch!!
Thanks so much for watching! I have not tried that substitution. Using molasses instead of maple syrup would pretty drastically change the flavor! If you end up trying it, let me know what you think!
Yes, after the syrup has cooled to room temperature, you can use it immediately or store in a sealed bottle in the refrigerator for up to a month. Can't wait to see what you think of the recipe ❤️
23June2023 Have been using your recipe since I stopped buying the Starbucks version which is very pricey (up to $50 a bottle on line). I love your recipe. It’s a very good substitute and affordable. Thank you!!
The cinnamon flavor won't be as prominent, but you can definitely try it 😊 I'd use about 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon and mix it in with all the other ingredients before you cook the syrup.
I have not tested that, but the original syrup has such a strong maple flavor that I doubt it would be the same. Let me know if you end up testing it out 🙂
