Wow, I never rewatched to check, but McKay really wasn't trying too hard to be convincing with the whole 'I'm opening the door' schtick. And you can actually see Colonel O'Neill as he realizes that they're trying to outsmart the replicators' mind reading. He even tells Shepard that he understands what's going on, and Shepard completely failed to notice.
Old comment, I know, but I'd like to point out that Sheppard 100% knew that O'Neill saw through their act. He says to McKay afterwards "O'Neill didn't buy it, but I think Woolsey did." They even have that little pointed exchange of: Sheppard - "Sorry it has to be this way" O'Neill - "Yeah, I get it. Go." Sheppard was apologizing for having the use them like that, because he knew that O'Neill figured it out. And then later in the cell, the banter about firing him was O'Neill getting confirmation that the plan was working, and Sheppard playing along and giving it to him. So, yeah, Sheppard absolutely noticed. He's pretty sharp too, you know.
Anyone here knows the Legacy Series that is meant to continue SGA? I'm now at the Second Book's end, and again, i can't believe how some of the Plot Holes one Book can contain! That whole principle of 'The Wraith use other names/words for things than us' is nice and all, but they go completly and utterly overboard with it! It's crazy! I could list a lot the Wraith should know but don't and shouldnt know but do know, but Heck: The Wraith even know of Jack O'Neill, and even more, of his (Wraith-Confirmed??) Relationship with Sam!! The Wraith know more about Sam and Jack than Us, the Fans! -I know i shouldnt but i feel kinda insulted by this! They know of him and call him 'Trickster', the 'Consort' of Sam! What the heck? How?! And don't even get me started on rhe starting Relationship of Teyla and John, completly Ignoring John and Weir and all the feelings they obviously had for each other! Wow! Small Mistakes, i would never call out in Books, but wow, this Book Series has Mistakes monopolized!

Anyone would crack much sooner than Jack. Replicators even compliments him on his ability to shut down and be with a replicator in "nothing box" for eternity and replicator learning nothing except perhaps few scenes from Simpsons, Jack's favorite show.
I wish RDA would just do voice acting for something animated show or movie, his humor is awesome i know he is getting up there age wise and not able to run around anymore like he used to but voice acting come on......
exactly! He is far from being fit or young anymore, but it would be awesome to have him do voice acting in animated movies, shows or video games. Speaking of, I wish we had gotten some triple A Stargate video game with ALL of the old cast (well except Don S Davis ofc, RIP Hammond of Texas) in it, playing their characters... Sadly I doubt that will ever happen :(
I really wish they finished Atlantis. 🙁 one of the most wasted shows ever. They'd have tripled there money on home DVD sales alone. Don't know how they invested so much and then just decided to abandon it.

dont you know the episode? jack knows or at least suspects it's an act to fool Wolsey so he feeds the replicators wrong information when they inevitably search their minds.

@@GraemeGunn to be fair, the ancients knew there would always be something that could fit through bars, such as the replicators. And the couldn't just encase the cell in a metal cube, because those same replicators could get through that as well. But a forcefield that likely would take multiple shots with an energy weapon to break? That'll hold a whole lot of stuff.
Yeah Robert Picardo is kinda legendary in the sci-fi genre, if your sci-fi show lasts more than 2 years you're almost obligated to get him to guest star in at least 1 episode.
I love this scene, great appearance by Richard Dean Anderson, one of the better Stargate two parters. And am I the only one who thinks the set looks half finished? I mean I love me some rushed low budget sci-fi but I'm pretty sure I could do a better job just using things from Ikea.
There's a forcefield that goes through the bars. The Wraith in season one that they imprson in it can't get its hand through to feed on Sheppard when he tries to interrogate it, it bounced off an invisible wall.

err, too bad replicators have a shared conscience which they can always tap into, meaning they knew instantly that the guards died and possibly even who and how. this is also why the anti replicator weapons would not work to clean out the entire base, after a couple dozen kills they would become immune.
I actually wondered why they even bothered to tell them a plan instead of not saying anything. I realized that it was a straw man of a problem. Pretty nice to see how they work.
@@wchan39 Not just distract from real plan but actually create plan by baiting replicator to destry themself, by feeding false information. Oneil knew it was false information and could hide this fact from replicators but that wilsey guy didnt know anything about military tactics and realt thought they get destroyed and coulnt guard his mind a was a plan .
I just noticed, that "prison"s horizontal members were oxycut, and the edges were left raw, they didn't even clean off the slag... curious as to if that was intentional, or a time saving measure?
Shepherd was quick to like but Rodney and Woolsey took a little warming up to. By the end though I liked them all as much as Tealc, O'Neil, Carter and Jackson. Someone really needs to pick up the franchise and kick it off again. I loved the story and idea of Universe but it grated against the flow of the other two series. I think they should buck the trend, move way from a series where everyone cries or shouts for 90% of every episode and go for an SG1 or SGA type series. Its what fits better has the support of the original watchers, will easily suck new watchers in and is what everyone could probably do with a bit of right now. An optimistic, dramatic action-adventure series with some progressive stories or themes without it overwhelming the series like some others.
Hard NO. Why do bugmen always want this? Look at every “new” show reboot. With infinitesimally small exceptions they destroy the ethos of the old show. For instance nuTrek is the complete antithesis of the originals. Yeah sure it matches the current shit tier world we live in but it supposed to be better than that. So no. NO new shows. They’re not needed and they’d suck. Enjoy what we have before the world turned demented.
It's shown to have a number of different features including being able to do medical scans, and as a mapping and navigation tool. Having the ability to interface with other ancient tech isn't out of the realm of possibility.

If you watched the episode, you'd realize it was part of their plan to leak misinformation to the replicators. They knew the prisoners would be mind probed.
RMJ1984 Good thought, but actually nope. The ancient prison cells have some kind of impenetrable force field, that also gives you a small shock when you touch it, you can see it in an earlier episode where they have a captured wraith.

@Vergil the legendary dark slayer , only within the Milky Way galaxy, the Pegasus galaxy was not effected as there would have been no way the dial program could have dialled another galaxy given the energy requirements just to establish one connection to Pegasus.
Not the same replicators. The replicators destroyed by the Dahara weapon evolved from toys built by an android with the instruction to replicate. The Asurans were nanites built by the ancients to fight the Wraiths but when the Asurans made it clear that they wished to have their aggressive tendencies removed, the ancients decided to try and destroy them as a failed experiment instead. There's a third set of replicators produced on Earth based on the technology they learned from both the Asurans and the first set of replicators. The Earth replicators were not programmed to replicate, a male soldier model rebelled rather than be terminated while a female one designed to interact with humans helped them track down and destroy the soldier model. They later preserved the female consciousness in a virtual world and destroyed the nanites she was made from.
@@johnwang9914 of course they made man made replicators, would've thought they learned their lesson after they made one from the Asgard computer to fight the ori that substantially backfired and it almost destroyed Prometheus doing what they are notorious for... but i was certain that the dakara weapon dialed every gate in the system since it was one of the weapons built by the ancients
@Vergil the legendary dark slayer, I don’t think you read ether of those comments including my own properly or even understand the SG1 episode that introduced the weapon. These are replicators found in the Pegasus Galaxy not the Milky Way built by the Atlantans/Alterans/Ancients after leaving earth and the Milky Way due to the great plague sweeping the galaxy. The firing of the weapon which was not really a weapon as such but a way to wipe out life in a galaxy to remove the plague and then reseed new life. It had no way to dial the whole galaxy on its own when found (likely the ancients did but was lost with them) so working with Baul, Carter implemented a way for the gate to dial each other in the same galaxy to transmit the wave form simultaneously. The gates in the Milky Way only had the power and ability to dial gates in the Milky Way not Pegasus. Even if they did it seems some lock was put in place so only the gate on Earth could dial Pegasus/Atlantis as a way to protect the MW galaxy after they abandoned Pegasus.
@@backupplan6058 i remember the episode, they probably didn't define "gate system" very well when they said it, the ancients likely put that lock in place incase someone like Anubis wants to wipe everything out so it stays in the one quadrant, especially when the Dakara weapon can also wipe out ascended beings as well
