TL;DR: The stop codons, as they appear 5’ to 3’ in mRNA, are UAA (U Are Annoying), UGA (U Go Away), UAG (U Are Gone), and the start codon is AUG.
Today’s MedCat video covers all the codons you need to know for the MCAT-and there are only four! The stop codons, which are written as they appear in mRNA, not DNA, are UAA, UGA, and UAG. The mnemonic, U Are Annoying, U Go Away, and U Are Gone, is a helpful way we can memorize these, which may appear simple and trivial, but are often forgotten. I am studying and studying and i dont know anything. How do I STUDY someone help me. How do i get a good score on mcat. What videos am i suppose to watch what subscriptions should i get thats not too expensive. I work three jobs for school i cant pay for expensive subscription

You need a system! In short: i) practice test, ii) content review, then iii) practice questions. Make an Excel sheet, GoogleSheet, etc., to organize it. 1) Take a practice test from the AAMC to see where you're at. 2) You should find a way you want to prepare for all of the content that could be covered on the MCAT (commonly called content review); this process could take anywhere from 1-4 months depending on your educational background. I think generally speaking, shooting for >300 hrs of real, dedicated studying (not on your phone intermittently) for content review is a good goal. Most people do Princeton or Kaplan books to review. 3) Practice questions! Do everything on the AAMC website (tests, practice Qbanks, flashcards) you can before your test date.
