Mobo. It could be that many viewers of auto channels have become so desensitised that they demand constant stimulation, either through chatter, music or editing tricks to generate 'excitement'. Clear, unfussy descriptions and low-key, unhurried demonstrations could be considered boring by those with short attention spans. There are not too many channels which give such a refreshing insight into the joys of skilled craftsmen working their magic. Two other You Tube channels which have similar feel are: Tyrrells Classic Workshop and Allen Millyard.

I'm very certain that he'd do a mighty fine job on a Lancia project for you one day ;) I'm sure he'd be honoured to do it for you... and going by your own sentiments, you'd be honoured to drive it. Jethro Bronner Hi, I’ve been following for a while with astonishment and admiration for your patience, dedication skills and knowledge. I think finishing your projects before you start another one would really help your channel grow to what it deserves to be (we wanna see those 105’s drive!) It’s just more satisfactory as a viewer. I imagine real life is complicating this proces though. Keep up the good work! Greetings from Belgium.

@@JethroBronnerBy the way -- I graduated high school in 1967 in New Hampshire USA. My lifelong love of European cars and motorcycles started a few years earlier. Quite a few of my fellow "baby boomers" got into restorations in later life because they could finally own the cars they craved in high school and because they appreciated design, and even design flaws that resulted in cars and bikes with character. Then as we aged and looked around it looked like we were the last generation to take the time ( and sometimes agony) and money it takes to bring these things back. So it's great to see what you are doing. Working with you hands is noble sometimes and that's to be appreciated too.Keep up the good work.

Amazing restorations - I remember 1977 - The Oil Crisis, when all Gasoline Stations in SA closed on a Friday at 6:00pm and only opened up at 6:00am on Monday - I drove with my friend in his Alfa Giulietta from College in Pretoria to Cape Town for the long Weekend. We stored Gasoline in the Trunk using empty 25liter paraffin cans, the square ones, as they packed perfectly in the trunk. We made the first leg near to Bloemfontein and filled up and then drove carefully all the way through the Northern Cape, through the Karoo on to Cape Town on our gasoline cans. Wonderful little car and brings back memories of a bygone era. Now, I am relegated to driving a gas guzzling Cayenne Twin Turbo V8 and driving my 1991 Fiat Turbo Uno in Cape Town when I come back to SA. Keep up the good work. Never throw any classic car away!

@@JethroBronner It might be prudent to run the engine for a while, take the oil filter off, unroll it from the canister and then fold it so you can use a vice to squeeze the oil out and check for metal flakes or particles. When ive re-built the engines on my vintage Renaults that first run and check can be a lifesaver.

Hi Jethro. I am so happy for you. Bought a garage across the road from the old Drill Hall in Johannesburg in 1984, along with my Italian Alfa trained mechanic partner. We rebuilt a 2.0 square back, replacing every nut and bolt, hood, every rubber. It was not as new - it was better than new. Never had one moment's trouble with it. Had to sell it when we had our 3rd child. I'm now 62, and really miss it. If only I hadn't sold it....
