However when Stewart said what he said it was in the context of being asked why his show isn't more genuine and serious with how it presents it's ideas, to which he replied, because he's an entertainer first and foremost and that his show was presented as a comedy show about politics. He wasn't dodging a debate, he was elaborating on why his show isn't presented with journalistic integrity after critiquing how Carlson's show pretends to have journalistic integrity. Stewart was right to say what he said. There was no copout.
