Awesome wind, great anchorages, and sunny days usher us out of the south end of the Chesapeake Bay. The ICW welcomes us with obstructions, traffic and a Navy shoreline - but we are rewarded quickly as the ICW gives way to Virginia's beautiful section of the waterway. Solo sailing a Catalina 42 from Lake Michigan to the Caribbean and having a wonderful adventure along the way.

Hey, Phil! It's been a great adventure. I've found so many great anchorages - south end of the Alligator River, due south of Oriental, and Mile-Hammock was perfect. Pretty easy to stay out of marinas most of the time - and the mooring buoys at Carolina Beach are really good. Thanks for hopping aboard- I hope all goes well for you. - Dennis

In a video or two, you're going to hear about my boat breaking free from a mooring buoy - inexplicably, since I had double lines cleat hitched - which wasn't so much fun . . . Thank you so much - the Bahamas are the big destination, USVI's and BVI's I'll consider puddle jumping to first, and then considering if I want to sail there. With hurricane season wrapping up, I'm ready to move more aggressively. Close to the South Carolina border right now - I'll be in Myrtle Beach in a week. I'm picking up two new AMG batteries (ouch) while at Osprey Marina. What are your plans? Thanks for tuning in and joining the adventure!

There's a free dock just south of the Anchorage there at hospital point. Free for 36 hrs.

I was there and heard there was a free dock but I didn't search for it - the basin at Hospital Point was great!

Keys and the Gulf are late in the plan. March, if I make it there. Concentrating more on Bahamas and south. Close enough for a fly by if you are in the neighborhood ( ; )
