This was actually super helpful. We talk bout inner child a lot and healing, but the words "youre an adult so u cant be abandoned" or somethin like that. Switch of perspective always helps, thanks!
Damn. I identify a lot with my inner child because I have quite the lot of trauma so it's easier to just have fun and not take things so seriously but I now know I need to have a balance between my inner child and my inner parent.

I want to commend you for saying: You are not your inner child, it's a part of you." But when you said" You cannot be abandoned, that's not correct for everyone. We CAN be abandoned. My sister's have abandoned me, my mother and father. I did try to make them happy but it's " never enough". I've learned to push myself away. I've had plenty of good therapy. I'm alot older than you. It IS possible to be abandoned, and for old abandonments to try to " bite you in the ass". But I hear women emphasizing the inner child excessively to where they're stuck in overeating, oversleeping, being hung up on guys that exited the relationship LONG AGO! I've left many people. I cleanse myself with music, dance, singing, walking , support group and my cats. My abandonment will come to disturb me, but I have to speak back to it. I wouldn't tell people they can't be abandoned. Might make them try to be perfect, like I did years ago. Doesn't work!
I love this and 💯 agree. But i think adults can totally be abandonded too. For instance, a wife who the husband asked to stay hoemme with the kids for their whole marriage and he builds there life.. but then leaves her for someone else.. well now shes got no income and no job experience.. times like that.
