Root cellar/Storm shelter makes perfect sense. A weather alert radio always on helps for the late night surprise events. Doing a drill so everyone knows to soundoff & get together to go inside as a unit helps too. A radio inside the shelter & a plan left with the sheriff/fire dept lets them know to check on you if the door gets blocked. Y'all Be Safe & Well too. tfs
The Old Gospel Song, Stand By Me,has been my source of comfort this week through the bad wind and rain storms, here in East Tennessee. When the Storms of life are raging stand by me. Jared, you and the family stay safe, hopefully the storms want be bad. Finn is excited about the 4 wheeler, and it will be a lot help around the homestead.Looks like the cattle are liking the new pasture field. Appreciate all you do and God Bless 🙂.
Thanks for the video Jared. Prayers the Lord keep all safe. We have had high wind gusts & lots of rain here in WNC, creek's running high and muddy. Nice addition to the homestead. My greasy beans came in the mail yesterday - thank you - am looking forward to eating & putting up already. 🙂 Blessings
When making a place to escape storms like tornadoes the door should open to the inside, not swing out and add an old fashioned drop bar to span it so it doesn't blow inward during winds. The reason the door should open inward is if debris falls against a door that opens outward you're trapped until someone notices you're missing. If it swings inward you can open it no matter what and more than likely clean enough stuff away to get out
70mph in central KY. Tree down at my son's house, limb through the roof and into the ceiling. Tree contractors not answering their phones. Thank you. God Bless and stay safe
I live ion a canal boat in the UK and last year while we were 1.5 away visiting family a tornado turned up and touched down. So when we get about ten minutes from home we start seeing downed trees. When we get to the boat we discovered ithad hit the garden of the house by the canal a hundred yards away and torn up a large apple tree. It had jumped the canal to us on the other side. Side swiped us and moved on jumping the canal again totale out trees on the mainroad. It threw some plants and lawn chairs and light stuff off the roof and threw open some top boxes but otherwise we were in all good! Normally if I get a storm warning I strap stuff down. But there is nowhere torun and nowhere to hide! Stay safe over there!
Howdy y’all- not sure when you videoed this but if it was today y’all are gonna get what rolled through here last night. We got about four inches of rain and the bottoms are flooded. Hope y’all stay safe over there. Take care and God bless y’all
I'm just south of central Kentucky, and I think I'd better make my way home, while I still can. But you feel like you're going to blow away out there! I don't expect to, but wow! (Now I see bright, blue sky coming from the west...??) Thanks for the video. The part with your boy was the best.
Finley sure is getting tall. Miss seeing the girls. I guess their mama doesn’t want them filmed or maybe it’s their age and peer pressure. Hope all is well.
