I’m a new player and I’m going to be honest this is the best tutorial out there for this game. You go so in depth telling us what’s good and what not good to do I am truly thankful for your tutorial. Truly.
Hands down the best tutorial for this game. You explained all the situations new players get into perfectly. There's something called the 2-10 rule now as far as getting diarrhea from coconuts. If you drink 2 coconuts or eat 2 halves, then you can drink or eat another 2 after waiting 10 in-game minutes. Just look at your watch while you wait.

Just got the game and had poisoning, after getting to 2 bars of health i drastically searched for the pipi plant to make a cure. I managed to get a cure only to die moments later by dragging a tree that launched me into the air, dying by fall damage.
I just started playing yesterday, got poisoned, managed to find one pipi, needed one more and managed to get to the other island just before I died only to them get charged by a boar that killed me lol
hi i know this is too late for this game but i was watching it from afar, just bought it and i was looking allover youtube for a good in depth guid and this is the best i find, gonna watch all your videos because yes its informative but fun as wall, thank you very much.
I really appreciate the entire series, as I was so frustrated with dying over and over, also the controls on the Playstation are I think as user friendly as they could make them, but definitely not the same as a keyboard. Everything takes longer to do... and when you don't know what you are doing this just compounds the problems.
Got the game a few days ago on ps4. I enjoy the game but your video has made it so much easier. Still learning some game play but thanks alot for the vid
I just bought this game on Xbox One and have struggled so hard trying to figure things out. I figured out to build the water still but didn’t understand how I wasn’t getting water, after watching EP1 of this, now I know! Gonna watch the rest of these and try the game again!

You can survive upto 2 days with the rations and 2 coconuts at a time and the small crabs on day one. Save the 2 cloth you get for raft, and if you find other cloth from wrecks then make the water still. Rocks are very important so as cloth. And if you plan to move don't go to big islands if you don't have 10 spears in your inventory ad the big boar will destroy you. The 2 giant crabs or big boar if they attack you go in the water and for the crabs when they turn around stab them. For the big boar 🐗 throw the spears need like 8. For fishing craft a fishing spear. And then you good to go. And save before you move incase you mess up or die.

Make a shelter on every Island and save save save often. Get poisoned, quit and continue. Until you can grow pipi plants for antidotes, this is the norm. And drink/eat only 2 coconuts at a time.
So I spent the last 4 days trying many different ways to learn about the initial first 3 days to survive efficiently on hard mode with permadeath. I'm going in blind and it's the first time playing this game. Now I'm up to day 5 on a second island half a health bar and trying to keep a distance from a boar while trying to build a camp, water still and get food but I'm surviving at least. Everything your doing and saying what new players will do and not know, I did and it makes me laugh. I learnt how to survive better the hard way and I found it really exciting and satisfying to solve each problem everytime I died and started again. I watched this video to see if I missed anything and I'm glad I'm on the right track. Theres still more I dont know yet but once I figure them out I'll check on your videos.
This video is over 2 years old and they have since changed the way the aloe salve works. It is now only good for 1 use. Basically, I never even bother using it any more. If I am starting to get overheated I just go for a swim, catch some fish, get some clay (in the water) or explore a shipwreck. You'll only ever really need it from like 2pm til 3pm, so you can pretty easily cool off until 3pm and then you are fine.
Cool. Note that this series is from an older version of the game, so some things have changed. Aloe salves can only be used once now. Tarp is now cloth, they've added giant boars, giant crabs, a larger world with more islands and an end game. I go over those in more recent series, so just keep watching :)
Absolutely hilarious, it reminds me of the early days of SD when I had no clue. Do you remember the wretched “Flu” which you got five times a week from being out at night and the derby raft mechanics? I love this game now and enjoy making my own islands but your vid reminded me of the early struggles. I would heartily recommend this vid to any new player (or old for the laughs). Good one thanks.
Get rid of any effects you have (sunstroke, diarrhea, dehydration) and just keep your food and water levels up at (or as close to) maximum as you can, and your health will start to go up. If you are poisoned, you have to craft an antidote to get rid of that. Oh and of course, use a bandage or a gauze if you are bleeding.
Yes, well it doesn't work anymore. They changed the way it works in one of the updates since this was filmed. Aloe now only has 1 use, and is pretty useless. I don't even bother making it any more and just go for a swim or sit in the shade for a little while.

I'm guessing if ya spawn in the summer to do your work at night? Go for a swim...walk only collecting things and or stay still until night? Can you sleep into night instead of morning?
They actually changed things in a later update. The seasons are now all the same. No difference what month it is. You'll only ever get sunstroke between about 1:30-3pm, so as long as you cool off - go for a swim, go fishing or explore a wreck - at some point during the day, you will be fine. You can only sleep at night too.
Go into the Steam client, right click on Stranded Deep, select properties, select the BETAS tab, select "experimental - highly experimental branch" from the drop down list. That will switch you over to the experimental branch with all the latest content, including the giant boar and giant crabs. NOTE that it is a separate game from the Stable branch, so you'll be starting all over again.
SPF? OR maybe you fell hard and hurt yourself (even if no status shows) - nothing broken but still took a bit of damage. If that is the case, it will heal itself if you have full food and water.
It's a Steam game, so I think family members can "play" on a family members account on their own computer, but I don't think you can both play at the same time. You'd need to either play co-op together on the same computer, or you'd need to buy multiple versions of the game - 1 for each person if they each want to play whenever they like.
If you are not bleeding (shouldn't be if it is just crabs that are biting you), then just eat and drink to get your food and water bars up to almost full and you will start healing. It takes a bit of time, so just stay away from anything dangerous until your health is back up.
I fell from high up on a ship and then my leg was Broken or something and I keep filling out my food and water bars but it won’t regenerate my health, I even killed myself but came back with the same health. What can I do?
Ya the water trick keep your self cool is a good idea but again if the watch was on a tutorial the game would of never gotten so many bad reviews! How do you build such a good idea to help the player but give the play this important tool on the watch, you would be lost in the game.
This game needs an overhaul or it will parish lmao great start but if I had bigger islands with the resources to start on an island thwn the story mode could be way better than this
eat amd drink until those bars are almost full, then your health will slowly go up. Keep the food and water as full as possible until your health is all the way back up.

I'm great at games but this game hates me. I can't go from island to island sharks kill me flip boat and I can never get enough rescource to build anything for water
There are enough resources on your start island to build a water still. If you got a terrible start island, just start again. There is a lot of trial and error in this game (unless you watch youtube videos ahead of time), as you have to learn the game mechanics. Not much different than most games in that regard, as things are not always how they are in the real world.
No idea whether it even has an age rating. The only violence is killing pigs, sharks and fish and then skinning them (a bit of blood spurting) to get the meat. It can be scary for some when you get attacked by a shark. So, maybe 12 or 13 years, though that could be higher or lower depending on your personal reactions to blood etc and/or what your parents think is ok for you to play.

God, that was moist... as I was saying, the Tanker with the yellow bouy and 3 Red Containers is the place to break the Avatars leg. I've just started my 2nd run through, proper Permedeath run through and would you believe it, 2nd run through, same place, bloody tankers mast has me again. That's twice I've played this game and twice in the exact same place, I've broken my Avatars leg. Stay safe and lay off the Coconuts.
Yeah, that's frustrating... just have to sail or paddle over to another island to find some, and if you are not poisoned already, plant them in a farming plot and build up a supply of them.
Not sure about on console, but in newer versions of the PC game, the aloe salve works a bit differently than in this video. It now only lasts 1 day, so you have to use them sparingly, grow aloe plants in farming plots to ensure you have enough, or just go in the shade or in the water to cool off (go fishing or check out a wreck) for a little while each afternoon.
What no shark bites? Fake News bro. My first try, I died of dehydration, starvation, poisoning and bleeding. I've started over about 10 times, and I've still never crafted an antidote or a bandage. I have 3 islands with water stills that I didn't ever load because I had no clue. On day 26 now, and I'm totally setup, but I have absolutely no idea where I am. Time to start over again. Lol
This watch show you issue is a joke good idea but if not shown in a tutorial it is almost impossible to know this due to the pop up is so small and easy missed. No we have to go through many months of issue to hate the game and year or so fine a You tuber with developers help to post all the issue like a tutorial, just because of not a good guide tutorial in the first place!
Don't even bother trying to play this on Council, it is the biggest piece of s*** ever. It is so frustrating how many bugs are in the stupid game. Why do they even bother????
So lets get real if you fine no bugs in this game your developer with tons of cheats to do the video. Like what about the controls you play like you never got stuck underwater in a ship or what about the food no real way to tell the food is done other than some sound of ding!
