Whacka is probably the darkest running gag in the first Paper Mario trilogy. Also one of the rare characters from the rpgs to appear in other Mario games

Ohohohohohoh!!! I would always recognize that music! That marvelous tune from the lost treasure of the Wii. Zack and Wiki Quest for Barbaros' treasure. Oh, how it fills my heart with joy to listen to this music, and to remember the adventures I had with Zack, Wiki and the Sea Rabbits. The Great Chase! The Icicle Of Prospitory! The King Of The Jungle! Stages and puzzles remembered quite fondly for the spectacle and the challenge. What days... Thank you. :D

The ghost horde at the chapter start remains one of my favorite scenes of the game and they did a good job with improving it in the remake.

Chuckola Cola is one of the weirder english localization changes. I'll start with what the bottle actually is- red wine. As a result, it was kind of a given that the english translation would not leave that in a game for all ages (though the spanish one doubled down and named it a parody of a real brand). But why *Chuckola Cola* specifically? That's to make a reference to Mario and Luigi. The first game is focused on the Beanbean Kingdom, which is next to the Mushroom Kingdom. Many places, items and people are named after forms of laughter. There's a part of the story where the brothers have to retrieve Chuckola Cola from Chucklehuck Woods to heal the queen.

Such a fun chapter, Flavio is a hoot. Bobbery is a fun partner if you like blowing everything up. The thing under the bridge is a Badge, and a really helpful one. Just go flat while on the bridge above it and you'll drop onto it.

Whoo hoo, kazoo singing of Flavio’s boom bass a boom song. Shipwreck with blue spirits is better looking here, and clearer about how the three got separated from the main crew. Here’s Keelhaul Key, and what a tropical hideaway it is, complete with mysteries and real ghosts. No Boos sadly but there is one last chest spirit to find, after finding the third one in Twilight Town. Zorin, Whacka Bumps are very good items but it’s for moral reasons that some people choose not to whack it. I did whack it several times when playing paper Mario but have elected not to do so for future games.

You do have to hit whacka if you want a 100% There are recipes that require whacka bumps and there is an Optional Post-game boss that only appears after hitting Whacka 8 times
