Growing up my dad would say, "I don't love you anymore, you're not my friend" to me and all my siblings and we'd laugh uproariously because we couldn't imagine a world where our dad wasn't our friends or didn't love us. It was a thirty year joke till he did it with my nephew and he cried so much. He's never done it again to any of us or his grandkids. My BIL lost his parents as a child and was abused till he married my sister... he's raised his kids to know you can lose anyone no matter how unimaginable the loss is. We all now know we can lose anyone no matter how unimaginable the loss is.

@@availanila emotional scars can run so deep it can be seen in multiple generations. I hope your BIL heals and his children will break the cycle. We all want love and be so desperate for it we bend ourselves in unexplainable shapes to be “worthy” of it.

I grew up in a similar family. Saying 'I hate you' meant I love you, and saying 'I love you' means sorry loll. People can always be lost, and when my family does die I'll be crushed. But I'll always keep the memories of them and the jokes we always said.

I grew up with my mother constantly saying that she would leave us. Constantly walking to her car and driving away only to come back every time. She used to show me her money that she’d saved up in case she wanted to leave us all behind. I love my mother. I always worried about her. I still worry about her. I don’t know how to stop. Now she says things like “I won’t be around forever”. I know. That was never an option in the first place. I wish she’d stop saying it cause at least I have her now. I know that fear of pushing someone too hard. I’m scared to get into a relationship because I’ll want to hang on to them forever, even if they aren’t good for me. All this to say, I relate a lot to this story. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for sharing this with me. It’s actually quite validating to hear from someone who had had a similar experience. I thought maybe I was being a little over dramatic you know? I really hope you find someone who will be willing to walk a little more than halfway to meet you where you are, recognizing that you are worth it. ❤️❤️❤️

Learn your attachment style everyone. It will help you understand why you react or feel negative emotions with something trivial occurs. Be gentle with yourself.

I love your videos, so much. Your storytelling, your voice, I don't relate to literally anything you talk about, but I love it, you remind me to reflect on my own life, and build empathy for others. ❤

I personally have a very anxious attachment style, I think. Haven't done much research on it though. But saying this out even in a comment soction of a beloved yt video feels freeing. Thank you for your confessions and stories, Joanne🙏🏵🤍
