Thank YOU Ajahn for taking us out to Creation & Blending Your Energies & Your Ways with All That Is....Thank YOU for the stories 🙂....I can not walk to far but we created a video for a Live program ("BridgeWalkers ") we do once a month & we needed a Bridge that pointed North/South because out content is on the Lakota North & how the Bison 🦬 teach us many things of how to weather storms(of all kinds), so, we took out our compass to make sure it was North/South, 1° Off of North, Awesome....YOU are Good Energies for us!!!! 🤗🙏

Just this morning I was thinking that I would love to live in a forest. Contact with nature fills me with inspiration and energy to strengthen my Dhamma practice. Hopefully one day I will be able to have the favorable conditions to do so. Thank you Ajahn for these inspiring videos. 🙏☺️☸️

Thank you Ajhan Jotipalo! That's for emphasizing the Dhamma of Nature and the significance of the different ways of learning about ourselves from other's experience and ultimately our own. 🙏🙏🙏

Thanks George. I’ll be heading to see my parents soon and your “extra” donation you made will cover my meals while I’m traveling. Your kindness keeps rewarding.

Great tips Ajahn and I like the joke about the mirrored compass. It's been -8c here the last few days. This feels so bitterly cold to me I cannot fathom the temperatures you describe!!.

Much gratitude for the insights and smiles Ajjahn Jotipalo. I will be heading out for winter hiking in extremely cold weather for the first time. : ))

Entertaining stories, good to know about the water bottles kept upside down 👍🏻
@Jotipalo
@Jotipalo Год назад
You only really need to know that if you are hiking at -20 or lower. Which we are predicted to get to -35 this coming week.

Great video! Thanks Ajahn. Winter has finally come here, can't wait to get out tomorrow. I'm pretty sure you mentioned Tam in a previous video. Would love to here some Tam stories if you have any.

Tam stories ! I only remember a few and I might have told them already, but they are good, so will probably tell those again.

I did not know that about the water bottles. I have a compass but don't know how to use it either. The closing shot was nice. Did you use a drone?
@Jotipalo
@Jotipalo Год назад
Yes that closing shot was taken by drone. Many people just use electronic devices for navigation, but having a compass and paper maps is a great back-up in case the electronic devices fail, and that only works if you know how to use them !

How about a vacuum insulated sports water bottle that keeps drinks hot for 24 hours or cool for 48 hours to solve your icy problems.

The problem is weight. With camping since you carry everything you need, if you can get by without the heavy thermos, then use a light water bottle. Ajahn Sona tells the story the frost winter camping trip he did, he put all his stuff on a toboggan and it was so heavy he couldn’t move it. With my age, I need to carry as little as I can, I’d rather do without and be comfortable than lugging lots of stuff and get hurt.

22 oz?
@Jotipalo
@Jotipalo Год назад
@@lazydaisy649 Yes 22 oz vs 2 oz adds up. If you can shave every piece of equipment 3 or 4 oz (and this case 20 oz(, the total weight of the backpack can be 4 or 5 lbs lighter, and that is a lot of weight when you have to hike 10 - 15 miles a day. Lightweight hiking has come a long way with gear development. Carrying a lighter pack also helps to prevent injuries. If just doing a day hike with a light pack, a thermos would be fine. I prefer hiking as light as I can since I also carry filming equipment.
