Signal Chain, Fender Stratocaster into the Shnobel Tone Daily Driver into the Strymon BRIG into the Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man Tap Tempo into the Vox AC30
I have the DMMTT on my board but the Brig caught my eye because of the stereo output and headroom. This video is helpful because it shows that even with all the latest technology, Brig can’t fully match the warmth. It’s close though. Someday I’ll go digital.
To me, this sounds simply like Strymon timbre vs EHX timbre...........The brig hangs with it that is for sure, but both have a slightly different feel. I am sure this EHX does more but it costs twice the price......but on sound alone both do that "bucket brigade thing" on point. If you do not need the extra features of EHX or are not married to the Memory Man timbre, which some are.....I think the Brig is a better buy. YMMV
Unfortunately, the lack of easy, live use presets keep both of these on the shelf. I’ll stick with my old school Memory Man and Meris LVX for live playing. Both sound great though…
Curious about your take here... I agree with you, but then you mention having the big box on your board, which is more limited than either of these. I do similar to you and run a Belle Epoch Deluxe for my "what ya see is what ya get" and a DD-500 for the do it all.
@@charliekrengel1344 I really like the organic ambient vibe (one setting). Right now, I have a Strymon DiG where the Meris was and Boss RE202 where the EHX was. It's not very scientific...I just need to be able to get 2-3 delay sounds (dotted eighths, ambient background, and lead delay). The RE202 for lead and ambient delay is really outstanding, the DiG does the "U2/church delay" like a charm. The EHX will eventually end up back on the board though...it always does.
