@R Thank you! Bala, it is not a precise measurement (at least for me....maybe there are specialists who can measure the airways with precision). If a student tends to have a small head, small facial bones, a small mouth, a poorly formed jaw, small nostrils, etc. it is quite evident that there is not sufficient space for proper respiration. This is exacerbated in cases of chronic allergies, asthma, deviated septum, chronic sinusitis, etc. Also, to some degree, the narrow airways might be at least partially the root cause for all those airway/respiratory issues in the first place.🤷‍♀Most people who have small airways are aware that they do.😉

Hi....can you pls tell me how do we breathe while silent lip reading......what is the natural pattern,i.e., Inhalation & exhalation, is it through nose or mouth?

@@BELightTT yes....I mean to ask 'reading of books without sound with just movement of lips' what is the pattern of inhalation and exhalation of breathing in this process.....hope you got my query.

@@Sadiafatima92I think I understand. So you mean, to be following along with the words on the page, mouthing the words to yourself, but not allowing any sound out? It's a very specific question. And I do not have much practice with this activity these days. To me, it would follow the same pattern as if you were speaking or singing the phrase. Even though you are not creating sound, your body and mind probably subconsciously prepare "enough air" to complete a sentence or phrase, before having to take another inhale. I would also say, it's only worth adjusting, if you are having any negative symptoms (like lots of sighing/yawning). Otherwise, I might allow your body to find its rhythm naturally for this activity. If I had to be formulaic about it, I might say, inhale through your nose, and then allow the exhale out of your mouth slowly as you mouth the words. You might pause to inhale through the nose again, before continuing with the next sentence. But this also might interfere with the flow of the words, and become annoying after a while, so you'd have to play with it. How many hours per day are you doing this? As I said, if it is not a significant hindrance to your overall ability to breathe functionally the remainder of your day, I might not overly worry about it. What do you think?
