i figured out studying but now thats all im good at. I finished with a 3.7/3.8(major gpa) but I dont know how to go about finding jobs that are relevant I feel like I dont have any actual skills or knowledge despite having grades and I find it so hard to like "lie" or bluff my way through interviews because I respect the professionals considering for hiring. I know its for entry level work and they train but I feel overwhelmed by this barrier and dont know how to get past it

I went to the website but I don't actually get it. I signed up for the website but I'm afraid to sign up for coaching bc I'm broke and I don't have money to give. I just wanted to learn what is involved in coaching. Is it live? is it a set of articles tailored to your needs? do you have homework? do you meet regularly? etc etc

Rough Summary: 1. Study first thing in the morning to avoid psychological crap. 2. Wake up early to do that. Mammals are genetically active during sunrise and sunset. 3. Re-frame your thoughts. You are what you spend your time thinking about and tell yourself. 4. Structure your environment and choose people you spend your time with wisely. 5. First 20% of your engagement yield 80% of behavior. 6. Self-control is not a good idea. Reduce the need of self-control. 7. Spend time with nature for confidence.

@@thisisntallowed9560 As much as I am happy to hear that you got out of depression, it makes me just as sad to hear that instead of going beyond thought, you simply changed your way of thinking. Not to discredit the power of thoughts but there was (and actually still is) an opportunity to settle yourself into meditation. So instead of giving attention to something that is always changing, something that comes and goes, give it to that which is always there, the unchanging. We went over several psychological theories including maslow's hierarchy of needs, we went over classifying different parts of the brain, we went over the effects of different neurochemicals, we went over axons and dendrites, we briefly went over how neurotransmitters function, we went over memory registers, we went over the distinction between short and long term memory, and we examined various books from a psychological perspective. There's a chance that it was briefly touched upon I guess, but if it was then it severely lacked any sort of emphasis on its benefits to mental healthiness. I was going through a really shitty part of my life then and I would've absolutely latched on to that information. Of note is that this was a one semester course, it's possible that a full year course would've covered this in more detail.

Not sure if you read these messages, but your story hits very close to home, Dr K. I almost failed out of high school and almost got rescinded from my dream university my senior year because of a video game addiction. I barely scraped by throughout college, graduating with a 2.8 GPA. Made A LOT of changes to my life, boosted my resume, and got my shit together and I'm now a fourth year medical student at a MD school in the U.S., on track to graduate near the top of my class and applying into a competitive field for residency. I wish I had resources such as yourself back when I was lost and felt like life was hopeless. I still suffer from really bad imposter syndrome from time to time. Thank you for all that you do! @qprtx
@qprtx 4 года назад
Kevin Corrigan I cant speak for OP, but I can share a few things that people have done in order to overcome deficiencies in their resume. Generally, the more time passes from when the graduate, the less the GPA matters as long as you use that time productively by working, doing research, volunteering. You can also do a post baccalaureate or masters program to demonstrate that you’ve improved as a student, though you really need to make a statement by getting near-perfect grades if you go that route. And even then some schools won’t even look at your application, so it still ends up being a numbers game of applying broadly. Your state school is the one most likely to cut you a break. Finally, you can do really well on the MCAT, which is the route I took to overcome a low-ish GPA, albeit not a 2.8

Key takeaways: *Design a system so you expend minimum willpower to do the things that build you up.* - Have a tranquil state of mind that's conducive to learning (transferring information from conscious to subconscious). This can be done by studying/working first thing in the morning, before we have experiences that cloud our mind. Good sleep, good presence (nature, friends) can reset bad thoughts. - Repetition and attention are ways you can increase the chances of information sinking into your subconscious (learning is like rolling a dice).

I just wanted to say that, I had been on and off about learning Japanese and Korean for the past 2 years. After watching the video, I decided to start my foreign language learning again. I bought 2 notebooks, one for each language, and the plan was to alternate between the two language every day. It's been almost 3 weeks, and it's worked out immensely well. My current routine is, wake around 6-7, bit of waking up, coffee, and then start at 7, study for 2-3 hours, do my regular job, do meditation after work, study for the rest of the day. 33:50 This is why a lot of people preach self-love and positivity. Look at yourself in the mirror once a day, tell yourself that you're great and you're going to do great things today. As NF once said in one of his songs: "Just think about it for a second if you look at your face Every day when you get up and think you'll never be great You'll never be great Not because you're not but the hate Will always find a way to cut you up and murder your faith"

Bruh, NF wasn't talking about rapping against legends, he was talking about these underground non-talented rappers who are talentless. U think NF is that retarted to try and beat legends?!?! HELL NO!! Even If you go back and listen to songs like 100, Real, and Grindin', u hear him talking about how those rappers be chillin' with women instead of focusing on there careers and how while NF be selling Merch in front of they houses, they can't come back with attacks against him because he's WAAAAAAY better than them. U think legends have time to put women over their careers or do u think legends are just gonna sit back and let dissers get the last say?! HELL NO!!! Pay attention to the lyrics. Even in Statement, NF talked about how he grew up listening to Eminem and how today's music is garbage. Even in a tweet, NF said how he can't respect people who think less of Eminem. NF ISN'T RETARTED. And how can u not like Real and Intro??!! Bruh u straight sleepin'! "WAKE UP"! And Drake ain't worth sh*t compared to NF!! NF is more real with his music and although I haven't listened to all of Drake's music, I do know that he ain't really no different than these mumble rappers now-a-days. The only thing I can say is unique about Drake is the way he raps.......THAT'S IT!! NF is a better lyricist than him.....PERIOD. REALISM ALWAYS BEAT MUMBLE imo. The only thing I can agree on is his Moments album. The first time I heard it I thought it was garbage. The beats was already poorly produced, but when he had that auto tune on top of it as well, I almost didn't want to even listen to it no more. But it eventually grew on me. The only songs I REALLY like is Circles, Reality, Until I Die, and With Me. But :D no offense but...........U sound more like a hater who's mind is to small to be able to comprehend NF's lyrics. Just saying.......... 😕 😕

Quick guide on how to reset your circadian rhythm: 1. Fast for a couple days. That means two days, though it should be better if you can do three or more days. Don't eat more than 5~10% of your daily calorie intake (ideally eat 0 calories), keep yourself hydrated (drink isotonic breverages with no sugar if possibel, if not, drink water with a pinch of salt at least once a day, or when you feel the symptoms of hangover) and do your life normally. [The feeling of hunger is psychological, after some days fasting you will notice that you are not hungry anymore] 2. Take a walk early in the morning for at least 10 minuts. This works even during cloudy days, but then double the time you spend outside. Early means during the first hour after the sunrise, but just exposing yourself to the sunlight is enough to inform your body that those hours are day. 3. One hour before sunset, lower the brightness of every device you're using to it's minimum, and try to lower the brightness of lights in your house, or at least use them the least possibel. Obviously, go to bed as late as an hour after it gets dark. 4. On the third day, when you finally get to eat, try and choose the least refined foods, try to get mostly natural foods and things that are not too heavy for your body to process, such as soup. Soup is only for this day, the following days you should be able to eat normally, although you should really be careful with what you eat. 5. Done. Fast at least twice a month. Fast agane when you have to travel to another timezone, when jet lag affects the most. Sources: It was revealed to me in dreams

I am a college graduate. The key differences that I made during my studies is that no matter what the subject is, I tried to understand the topic and what is being said in given text and why it's being said. Instead of plain, reading and trying to memorize, which is something I did in elementary and high school because that's what everyone else did. If I couldn't understand or I couldn't see why it's being said, I would stop there and solve that first and then move to next thing because for me understanding equals knowledge. That way, I stopped the ridiculous "8 hrs study with me marathons". I haven't done any research of how to study better, it just that's what I thought it was wrong. Oh and yeah, beside studies, I was playing World of WarCraft.

Finding this video after a long time of procastrination I am grateful to have seen this. Even though it is time I could have spent on studying, this video is insightful on the structural processes of studying but also how I will reflect on my life. It was a really interesting hour and I want to thank you for that. I have made a small summary for anyone else out there to give a sneak peek of the lessons here but I would recommend watching it in whole! Studying is the process of moving information from your conscious thoughts to your unconsciousness. This works best when your mind is in a calm state, therefore, it is recommended to study early in the day as sleep restarts your brain to a calm state and replenishes your energy levels. However, there is an interesting feedback loop going on between your conscious and unconsciousness: if you think about X a lot, e.g. negative emotions for not studying, your unconscience will keep feeding you these thoughts back. If you suffer from this you will have to spend a lot of mana/willpower to convert these thoughts back to more positive to start studying and by then not have the energy anymore to study. You can get 'stuck' in this phase if you do not actively reflect on what goes into your conscience. To study more you need to save your mana and you do that by training your unconscience to feed you more productive thoughts: reflection and reframing of negative thoughts into positive ones - look at situations from a different angle, change your environment to surround yourself with positivity, and set up different environments for play and work so your brain can actively change conscious thoughts without them crossing over.

My man's just explained the law of attraction using logic and facts.
@ajiththomas2465
@ajiththomas2465 4 года назад
Well yes but no. The Law of Attraction is kooky nonsense because it posits that simply wanting and thinking about something will let you get it. It doesn't factor in the actual actions and effort required to accomplish said things. You can want and think about something all the time but it's meaningless if you don't put in the effort. That's the fatal flaw of the Law of Attraction. It makes gullible fools think that the thought of action is the same thing as action itself. Dr. K's explanation is about priming your mind to take action and basically get into the right mindset to take the action you want and need.

1. calmer your mind, more efficiently you can study: -> study first thing in the morning cause you're not yet disturbed by external agents and you have high atp (stuff that releases energy). if you do something dopaminergic/emotional and then study, you'll waste more energy in just focusing. target for 5am. -> remember you will not be able -> most mammals are super active during dawn and dusk BUT most teens become active at around 9am. night owls have ADAPTED to staying up at night. it's not your default mode -> study before class so class becomes review 2. it would be way easier when you actually want to study: -> when you're calm, whatever you learn (studies or fun related) you will absorb. -> if you keep feeding shit to your sub-conscious, you'll keep regurgitating the same. (if you keep telling yourself you suck, that's what you're feeding your un-conscious and after a point, that's what you'll keep telling yourself) the thoughts that go in are the thoughts that come out. so feed your mind the right thoughts -> so A) feed yourself positive thoughts so that after a point in time you stop pulling yourself back with pessimistic thoughts (thru therapy maybe) B) surround yourself in a positive environment. if you wanna stop playing games, stop hanging out with people who keep talking about/playing that game C) spend time in nature. you're in a neutral environment so there's no one to judge you, to make you feel negative about yourself

this video couldn't have popped up on my feed at a more perfect time since I start my second semester of college in 2 days. I struggled so much during my first semester due to not only not never having learned how to study but also a bunch of life and relationship shit happening all at the worst times and my brain basically shut off academically for weeks on end and I can't remember anything I was supposed to learn in the last 4 months, yet I was still nonchalantly playing valorant and other video games and spending time w my friends. I thought it was simply because I hated school since I never enjoyed being in a classroom "learning" random bullshit all my life, but I still do really enjoy learning and I could never figure out how I could cruise through my early years of school but whenever I put in any effort into studying it didn't work. I was incredibly close to failing and being put on academic probation and looking back, I can say with certainty part of the reason was that I don't know how to retain information or how to properly learn. everything you said in this video completely changed my perspective on how my mind works in regards to academics and I am most certainly going to apply this and other knowledge I've learned from you from other videos and let you know how things changed from my first semester. thank you for all this invaluable information you put out for free for others who struggle mentally just like me, I hope you continue having positive impacts on many lives.

I'm trying to finish college, 5th year. The material isn't hard, the thing is I don't know what to do because I took a year off and now I have very little study material. Writing here for me is like thinking out loud so, I know what I have to do now. I should contact some people from a different class, maybe they could help. Most likely, if not I'll enter the 6th year. But I really don't want to do that since this college thing is suffocating me, but it ain't even a hard college, it's one of the easiest. Also turned out to be one of the most useless but still, I gotta finish what I started, or else if I quit I know this will follow me for the rest of my life. Videogaming is becoming less of a problem since I figured out I only play them because they keep me focused in the moment and not wondering in my thoughts. Powerful stuff man, made it easy for me to kick LoL, which I haven't enjoyed for years now. I do regret a bit the time that was lost, but eh, such is life. First thing's first though, I gotta find a way to finish college. I feel like after I've done that, I can finally be in full control of my life. This is something I owe to my dad most of all, I am not interested in arabic, although arabic is cool as a language. So, the reason I am doing this is for my father, to finally get him off my back, and to finally live my life as free as I can. Get a job, exercise, learn what I want to learn without anyone interfering or saying this takes away from my study time and that I should be studying. I will contact people tomorrow to see if I can get some materials. The main reason I wrote this now is to make it clear to myself what I want and what my thoughts are. This is something I've turned into such a big deal when I could've finished it a year ago. None of that matters now, the only thing I need to do is to move forward.

Chat was talking about how daytime is an arbitrary choice to operate. It seems to me that that is fuel for more excuses because for 99.99% of human existence, we didn't have access to things that would illuminate the world en mass for us, much less keep us entertained from dusk till dawn. If you've ever done real camping without devices, it then becomes clear why the concept of the night owl is a modern phenomenon. I wish Dr K would have brought that up because alot of unnecessary stress is being caused by those who don't understand the difference between what is normal and natural, and denying that the natural way is objectively healthier for everyone even if it is unfortunately the way that would take effort to initially transition into. I started ending my stream by 10PM every day but Saturday, and stopped using alarm clocks for work and I NATURALLY wake up every day between 6 and 7 AM. It has changed my life for the better. TL;DR: I DO have an emergency alarm that I use as a backup "just in case" thing because it tends to fail if I am getting a cold, workout too hard, do too much yard work, or something that causes me to legitimately need extra rest. If I catch this alarm, I know that I severely needed the recovery and so I don't get too stressed about being behind, since I know that the day as a whole would probably be worse without it. If you are saying "bro, then I would just sleep right up to that alarm every day, so what's the point?", then you are mising the secret sauce of feeling physically like the best beast you can possibly be....... which is to take your ass to bed earlier and earlier until you don't NEED that alarm anymore. That's why it's an emergency alarm. If your rhythm is natural and you have gotten enough sleep, you will naturally wake up at least 30 minutes before that alarm consistently. Very soon, you will feel clearer headed and hit the shots you always "knew" you could hit if you just had a little extra concentration. You're welcome.

Imagine if there was a class at some time in elementary school, when you could actually grasp some of the words and ideas here, that would teach kids on HOW TO STUDY more efficiently and how they can literally learn ANYTHING, regardless if they don't want to learn or like the subject, as long as they pay full attention with a clear mind, that they could accomplish anything in life. Then imagine generations with that type of focus and understanding of everything start going through life and raise other generations. What this means is, if you give someone a tool or knowledge on HOW TO STUDY, they will apply this outside of school too because school has proven to them that they mastered how to study, and now everything they want to do in life they can study the proper and faster way.... Like, pardon my french, holy fucking shit the world would be at a much better state...

But yep this is all true. I can say that nope teenagers need more sleep but in the afternoon makes more sense. Kind of fascinating. So, I went to Montessori as a child until 8 and I learned how to learn… That was the point of my early training and with no tests. No tests except for the silly standardized weird things. I transferred to public schools and got straight A’s and an anxiety issue. I’ve always been able to study and I love going in to teachers who are not able to teach what’s inside of them and I’ll interview them for a while to understand how they ticked so that I could take their tests, but I would tune them out when they told us how to study for their exams. It never worked since they didn’t understand how they understood the materials themselves. I would study in groups and lecture it back to me and them and ask questions and learn it. I’ve helped a LOT of friends to learn how to study and learn. I’m not the smartest. My father is incredibly intelligent… med school intelligent, Ivy League med school intelligent… thanks Dad that shadow isn’t hard to follow in at all😂. But, I learn more, I’m better at learning because when you are only sort of super smart you learn to hustle it. I can teach all of the geniuses how to study, but they won’t understand why we are doing it. That can’t be taught. 😂😊😮

Does he ever mention in any of his videos his exact path to medical school after graduating undergrad with a sub 3.0 GPA? Im really interested in how he went about that.
