Chris, I love your attention to detail. In regard to the oil in the boot carpet, if you have large bucket. put in a good measure of whitening agent from the laundry into the bucket add warm water to dissolve the powder/crystals. Add the whole carpet and agitate like a washing machine. The stuff I use is from Aldi but Coles etc. has the same type in the 500g tub. You need the agent in the whitener to break down the grease/oil stain. I hope I didn't over explain that. Cheers
Chris while you've got the fence clean, roll on some of that fence stain. It'll keep it looking good for years. Neighbour did their fence same time as ours and their fence looks brand new because they stained it while ours has gone grey like yours.
Car looks good but the fence looks mint! Trick I've found to get weathered timber looking new- use Oxalic acid with water (typical rust cleaner in Bunnings) and spray it on. Bleaches the wood back to original colour without the the need for pressure/sanding. It's actually the ingredient in deck clean products
Hi mate. As far as wheels keep them period correct. I am a purist at heart , but have done a set of Gold MY00 wheels as this looks epic on the blue. Obviously if you keep the brembos they won’t fit as you mentioned. If you are 100% going to keep brembos refurbish the wheels you have. Don’t go over 17 inch wheels. I restored my former Version 6 STI removed brembos and put stock wheels back on and absolutely loved the stock iconic look. So many GC8 are molested and stockish ones to me stand out. I would sell the wheels and brembos put original brakes on and upgrade the rear calpiers to the pot brakes. With the money you get buy some original wheels do a set in gold and keep a stock set. That’s what I have done.
