Gerri doesn't get enough screen time...she clearly was a phenomenal lawyer and has been able to keep them from drowning in their own havoc they caused throughout the years. Plus she is sassy when needed but still comes off professional 😉
Did not realize it at the time. I think there were other hints, too, i.e. Logan's tying up NYC's divorce attorneys so Shiv could not access them; the bathroom scene between Logan and Tom. After looking at this scene again, I think that Shiv noticed that Logan said something to Tom, even if she could not figure it out. Also, she acknowledged Tom last. I think that there was no doubt in her mind that Logan was going to see to it that Tom did not go down. Logan probably knew that Tom destroyed the most incriminating evidence.
@@annkey4091 there were so many little moments and looking back Tom came through for Logan and waystar without using nepotism or his family ties to his advantage. He was definitely the right choice as sour as it tasted at the time
Shiv stumbling to give a toast and thinking of Tom's as an afterthought perfectly represents how shocked she is - first thing Roman does is look at her - not Tom - when he hears the news
I guess that's where Roman got the comment at the end of this episode where he asked Shiv if she was really happy that Tom is not going to prison anymore.
1:19 Roman toasts the ironic "To Justice" while Shiv does not, as she never embraced the real power the Roys have above "the system".We see that later during the presidential election.
i like how logan doesnt spend so much time celebrating success - theres just no time in their world to celebrate anything - there will be multiple successes and celebrating each of them is a waste of time - to be where they are they have to keep ploughing through fast and quick - celebration is just for kids on their birthdays thats all gone ones you turn into an adult
@@universalpower419 supposedly retired - and was utterly disappointed at kendal for showing up to his bday when he was suppose to be closing his first billion dollar deal.
He was the head of the Cruises division. Bill gave him the 'information disease', so he knew about it. Kendall's accusations and Greg's sneaky retrievals point towards Tom's tenure as the period when the cruise docs would have been destroyed (though it ended up not being enough in the end). Being boss is more than a title; you are responsible for things even if you didn't directly do or trigger them.
Gerri is excellent, with her "Naughty back in the day, nothing systemic." Obviously Waystar didn't have a problem with female legal dept staff being depicted ppornographically, that's MY & some former colleagues
Shiv is so annoying. Why does she always gotta add something at the end like everyone patiently awaits her opinion. I swear, her character doesn't know when to shut up
I think that's the point. You can see that each of his children are deeply flawed. She tried to show how clever she is the past season and it landed her on her face. Logan saw right through her
