Meh Amelle has by far the weakest voice of all girls..and keishas is great by is overrated,its good but its quite common in that her tones not very distinctive from best vocals to least would easily be mutya (most distinct tone) siobahn (clearest smooth voice), jade (most powerful n best range) Keisha (good technique) Heidi (distinctive voice but bad technique, little range) then amelle (just OK lol)

@@jadebel7006 The core of Sugababes is about soul and harmonizing. I felt like many times live, Jade just did not understand the assignment and went diva-crazy-ad-liping. Yes, she is the most powerful singer among these girl but she is best at doing her own thing, solo. Also, I felt like Keisha's tone is very distinct and her melisma is matched by non of these girls. But all-in-all, I agree with Mutya as the best and Amelle as the worst in this group...

@@jadebel7006disagree, i don't think keisha is overrated at all. Her voice is what ultimately gave the sugababes songs that sugababe flavour through out all the lineups except the last one obviously. Love all 3 girls, go and watch any of their current live performances and you'll see that all their voices are flawless and are in fact underrated.

Every UK girl band of the 2000s had the one song that Straight Men unapologetically loved. Atomic Kitten was Whole Again, Girls Aloud is Love Machine/The Promise, and for Sugababes it was About You Now! This was number 1 for a month in autumn 2007 and then Call the Shots was out not long after, and then Return of the Spice Girls tour... what a time to be alive

Keisha is just an amazing vocalist. I think she was the ‘glue’ that held all iterations together of Sugababes. She had hits with Siobhan and Mutya (Overload/ Run For Cover), Mutya and Heidi (Round Round/ Stronger/ Push The Button) and Amelle and Heidi (About You Now/ Change). There’s not many artists that could continue to have that level of success with constant line up changes. She’s even better live too. When she was axed Sugababes really ended (until MKS came along)

LOVE this song!!!!! This is their biggest seller and was #1 in the UK for 4 weeks. It was their 6th and final #1. Push The Button is their 2nd biggest seller then interestingly its Too Lost In You in 3rd place which has benefited in the streaming era as it originally only peaked at #10.

I think it always looks sloppy when they do it live; they completed mess up the 2nd verse every time. Either Keisha you lead the verse or Mutya learn the vocals

Agree 100% that this is 3.0's best style era. Keisha is just a fine babe, she can pull off so many looks it's crazy. I'm glad we've gotten to Change now because between this album and the next Amelle has her own stamp on SB songs, which I enjoy as well. I'll have to listen to the other singles again because my favourites off Change are deep cuts, outside of "About You Now."

So what I learned is that Amelle was doing showcase in the US, or a show, or whatev something, then got a call days after Mutya left. I believe since Amelle was in the same management of Sugababes 2.0, she was easily remembered by someone suggesting she can be the replacement of Mutya.
@Right_Direction_
@Right_Direction_ 9 месяцев назад
Nope none of that is true. The group boo2 with her sister was being managed by Crown who managed Sugababes. That girl had been waiting in the wings for months ready to step in, it was all lined up.

Amelle was a good substitute for Mutya because her register and the texture of her voice is like Mutya, but she has nowhere near the vocal agility and musicality of Mutya. Keisha was the best vocallist in Sugababes v3 - her voice keeps getting better with each iteration.

Great video. Thanks for all of these. Their best selling single ever is About You Now. Though Push the Button sold more in the UK actually. Both songs and Round Round are contenders to their "biggest hit", but if you ask me the song everybody links them to I would say it is Push the Button.

As for Amelle getting into the group: a couple of years before Mutya left their manager was in a show case and Amelle was a part of a duo with her sister called Boo2, there are some demos on yt. Mutya was clearly not staying for so very long in the band and K and H were doing the gigs as a duo. Even the "London Live" EP on Spotify has Mutya on the cover but it's only K and H and there are a lot of concerts of them as a duo on yt. She wanted to spend time with her daughter and she decided to leave. The manager remembered that night he saw Amelle in the showcase. She joined the band 48 hours after Mutya left. This was literally the last week of 2005 so if you look everything 2006 ownards is Amelle. The thing is: Mutya is irreplaceable. Amelle shines os rock-ish and post 2006 stuff. But whenever she is singing older hits it is trash not cause she is bad, but cause nobody can do it like Mutya.
@Right_Direction_
@Right_Direction_ 11 месяцев назад
Not entirely the case. Their manager Mark had Amelle waiting in the wings to step into Mutya's spot, which he made her fully aware of on a number of occasions that she can leave, cos they have someone else. Her going was a lot more to do with the massive amount of pressure she was being put under, with no actual help for her mental health, he played her against Heidi and Keisha. Boo2 were actually managed by the same team as Sugababes.
@_AceReject
@_AceReject 11 месяцев назад
@@Right_Direction_ I know he managed Amelle, regarding to the reason Mutya left she herself stated in various times she left cause she wanted to spend time with her daughter. We all know Crown tried to put them against each other but M and K were still friends after M left. I really think M doesn't like to talk about the post natal depression matter cause she always said it was bc if ger daughter she left. The show case I mentioned was the one their manager met Amelle and Samiya.
@Right_Direction_
@Right_Direction_ 11 месяцев назад
@_AceReject If you saw the kind of mind games Mark and his team were playing with the girls at that time, particularly with Mutya who was really struggling with the schedule, a new baby and severe depression, he wasn't interested in getting her the help she needed, so they continued to apply more pressure to her so she would leave, cos they already had Amelle there waiting. When she left, yes she said it was to spend more time with her daughter, which was true, but not the whole picture of what actually went on. As for her and Keisha they were barely speaking to one another when she left. Their last few performances together she arrived separately, got ready in her own dressing room and they had very little interaction. Again, mostly because of what their manager and team were telling her and what they were telling Keisha and Heidi. They played dirty, she was threatening crown's cash cow, so they wanted her out and bring in someone else who wanted to be there, who then would later go on to totally destroy the group. What Mark and his team did to Mutya was disgraceful.
@_AceReject
@_AceReject 11 месяцев назад
@@Right_Direction_ yeah, the whole Crown team is a bunch of bastards. They worked to make their lives a hell. It is funny that so many people out of the fandom have know idea how VAST is the universe and the history of the Sugababes as a band and as a brand.
@Right_Direction_
@Right_Direction_ 11 месяцев назад
@_AceReject they literally treated the girls like they didn't matter, when in reality, well, the first two line ups, without those particular girls, the Sugababes wouldn't have existed. With each change, they went further and further away from what they were. Marks obsession with making them a brand literally killed the group. Mutya never should of gone, hut everything happens for a reason and now they have a second chance to change their fates. It's gone back to basics and they're thriving. It's lovely to see
