In this video I cover a case report recently published which documents a case of severe, suicidal depression which was found to be caused by a nutritional deficiency by accident. One hour after administration of said vitamin, the symptoms resolved.

I took antidepressants for 28 years, then discovered my depression was dependent on Calcium deficiency. Of further interest were panic attacks that were completely relieved with Magnesium supplementation. As a retired critical nurse my global fear is of the standard American diet as opposed to focusing too heavily on specific nutrients > the nutrients that are the culprits seem to anecdotally change with the individual sufferer.

It angers me that people are given toxic drugs and ECT when the vitamin deficiencies/imbalances go undiagnosed in the majority of cases. My Father was a prime example of this, he was lead to believe the lie that he was beyond fixing, he began to drink heavily which further diminished his B's, he took his life as a result.
@seekersees693
@seekersees693 11 месяцев назад
That's because they want them on the drugs. As you use them, you become sicker and sometimes dependent. They continue to bank profit while you continue to get worse. The system is setup to slow kill. I speak from experience as I was at one point taking hundreds a prescription pills every month due to everything that happened to me while in the military. I got healthier when I got off and started to eat right. When I say eat right, I mean real food that I grow and I get real raw meats, eggs, milk, butter, honey, and more from my neighbors. I was in a state of depression for many years along with other issues. Everyone I know who takes prescription drugs slowly go downhill. I stopped it and slowly worked my way back up.

The problem is that our parents’ generation listens to doctors and not RU-vid. Mine are basically drained of everything due to prescription meds and again. They absolutely will not listen to me pushing anything like magnesium. It would appear that that solution is too simple and my dad would rather have sleep problems than listen to me. They might try it once and tell me it didn’t work. Prescription meds have destroyed my father.

I have a crazy stroy about my b1 and probably other Bs. I had really bad symptoms last 10 months because of those deficiencys. The crazy thing is, one symptom i pretty much had my whole life was extrem mood swings and depression. After starting with b1 benfotiamin i literally could tell when my dosage went to low again because my MOOD switched instantly. This was so crazy to see, angry, frustrated, could not focus on the thing i am working on etc.. went to the kitchen, took one pill and BAM, could feel how the weight was lifted and i felt normal again. This stuff is no joke, i thought my whole life that this is just a part of me. I just want to say: If your vitamins are not right you can have extrem bad and crazy symptoms, you will not believe how many people think they have depression but are just deficient.

I’m really happy that this information is out there. I was diagnosed with MS in January of 2020 after the entire right side of my body went numb. My neurologist said I had very low b12 levels and I went in for a b12 shot once a month from that point onward. I was going through a difficult time and couldn’t continue to go every month in 2022, by August of that year I was plummeting into a deep depression. I didn’t know what was causing it. I had severe suicidal ideation and low energy. My psychiatrist increased my dosage of Cymbalta but it really didn’t help that much. Something clicked when I realized the only change was that I stopped going to get my b12 shots. Now that I’ve started again I feel like myself again. It was an uphill battle that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. If your doctors check your blood, please have them check your B vitamin levels. They don’t always do that so you must be your own advocate.

This pattern reappear when I was 9 yrs. old, 12 yrs. old.,15 years old until I was 21 yrs. old & I FINALLY sought help. I am SPEAKING from my own experience as far as the 2 things that will sink someone into deep depression is lack of food & SLEEP!! Plenty of Scientific papers that can back me up on this. @truthwarrior7934, have you had any genetic testing done to see if you have the MTHFR variations? Please see on here any video by The Benzo Coalition/Benzo Stories.. I was put on them about 15 years ago and now have to very slowly taper off. It's a nightmare. They're not in the same class as antidepreesants (find a good psych- Lexapro worked for me, but there are others, along with exercise, healthy living, and therapy). If your doc won't help you taper off then find one who will. Staying on Benzos will override all the good you're doing. Wish I had never started.

I recently learned that a genetic mutation was preventing me from converting plant-based and synthetic folate to the active 5-MTHF and causing depression, anxiety, joint hyper mobility, and chronic migraines. I started added more egg yolks and liver to my diet because those are the best sources of the active folate, 5-MTHF, and the difference is astounding. Those foods also happen to be high in other b-vitamins. So if you added a b-vitamin supplement and still don’t see improvement, consider that you may not be able to convert the inactive form of the vitamins to active forms of the vitamins and include foods with the already active form of the vitamins, like egg yolks and liver.

Although most people tend to be under methylated an important side note that wasn't covered is that for those of us who have a tendency to be over methylated taking B12 and folate can make matters worse. Taking B3 in the form of nicotinic acid which is just regular flushing niacin can be extremely effective in dealing with the effects of over methylation. By taking 100mg every 10 ten minutes on an empty stomach until flushing begins which is a redness/tingling/burning sensation you can get a sense of how over methylated you are if at all. If you flush lightly on 100mg then you're about normal; if you experience an intense flush on 100mg then you're probably under methylated; if it takes 200mg or more to cause flushing then you may be over methylated which can have surprisingly powerful psychological effects ranging from depression to bouts of intense anger to schizophrenia. People who have a tendency to be over methylated can use nicotinic acid to purge excess methyl donors and bring neurotransmitter production down towards normal levels.

Thank you. This explains why I had intense flushing if I take nicotinic acid. I should test myself to see if I’m still under methylated. I have a homozygous MTHFR mutation. I’d developed megaloblastic anaemia as a result. I knew it was useless to explain to my doctor that I’d tried to take even crumbs of folate for years and couldn’t manage the intense symptoms (I was debilitatingly ill as a result of my metabolism tanking due to various issues, one being malabsorption syndrome). So I had to find a way. Despite having normal magnesium blood serum readings, turns out my cells weren’t getting the magnesium they needed but I couldn’t take magnesium either. Then, I discover magnesium glycinate and that I could handle it. Once I started taking that I could take high doses of folate (of course, I threw out the prescription for folic acid because of the MTHFR mutation) and rid myself of the anaemia.

Me again. I've had to explain to so many people that I am not depressed, but this is depressing. I know it's not depression because threads of hope give me hope, 5+ years into this, a thread of hope still gives me hope. Someone who is clinically depressed as the root cause, won't see any hope. It's hard to explain to people when you're chemically suicidal, and you are aware of the fact that it's not real, they can't wrap their head around that.

The reply from @fabygoo is correct, if you have not tried venlafaxine I highly recommend you do, it has no discernable side effects and seems to be the best of the bunch. Honestly, by your writing and what you are saying, you sound like you have an anxiety disorder that is causing depression. It's called a comorbidity. I have bipolar disorder. I treat it with medications AND nutrition...and most importantly...QUALITY sleep. It must be high quality sleep. Anxiety disorders and depression have a causal relationship with sleep. If you intentionally increase a person's REM cycles, they get depressed. Onset of mental illness (brain disorder) of any type is almost always preceeded by sleep disruptions. Clinical depression IS marked by hopelessness. You can't see beauty anymore.. pain envelops you. But anxiety disorders are more mixed in emotions from day to day, with and underlying feeling of depression and helplessness. Depression is both a symptom AND a disorder itself. Most brain disorders overlap. Bipolar has anxiety, depression, mania, hypomania. Clinical depression is almost always paired with anxiety and vice versa. Psychiatrists aren't very good in some areas. Shop around and never go by who you like...go by who gets results. But find someone to get a good diagnosis so you can effectively deal with it like I do. It's totally doable.

As a child my symptoms were treated with high iron foods and sometimes supplements. Not a lot of good when the problem is caused by inability of the digestive system to extract B12. Anyway just wanted to say that if you have a girl who plunges into anxiety and depression a couple of years after menstruation starts get her B12 checked and if low, injections started. I felt a pull to watch your video that came up randomly on my feed about B1, it was life changing for me, almost immediately (benfotiamine 300mg ~30 minutes). Probably been deficient since ABVD chemotherapy ~20 years ago and apparently there is an association there among a lot of other risk factors. I just learned this myself a few weeks ago, doctors then only wanted to make sure I took no vitamins and didn't care about my nutrition other than recommending I try hard to eat the standard american diet and shun animal protein and fat. It is great to once again have the ability to improve myself instead of declining rapidly. "I can't I can't" really does describe the deficiency for B1, I just couldn't do much without a lot of effort, and the results of the effort was unimpressive. Now I need to better learn how to put my energy to best use. Thank you for sharing your work

Thank you so much for highlighting the detrimental effects of b deficiencies I had issues with glutamine causing a nuro toxicology issue.I worked out early on that I couldn't supplement it nor take anything like protein powder that contained it either. However I was also suffering from episodes of hyper ammoniumia ( pH prediction doesn't spell it either) whenever I was stressed out I would smell strongly of ammonia but also have fluid retention especially in the face as well as chronic inflammation which mimicked stress fractures but could also make me subsequently get fractured easily. Weirdly enough excersise that induced sweating preformed at least 30 mins longer the better would alleviate the severity of it for a time. The sweat stunk so bad thou. Sauna on its own did nothing to alleviate. I couldn't think of even simple things because my brain hurt to even try to pick out clothes to wear. I felt nauseous and so tired so exercises were extremely hard to do . Once sweating began thou my energy strengthened the inflammation reduced and the nausea improved. If I didn't exercise to the point of sweating long enough it made it worse. I never knew why or when it would accur, except one day when I was experiencing anxiety and was in fight or flight the smell Started permeating through my skin. I had this for around four years

Anyway I haven’t had it the last couple of months since starting carnivore D: and because of that haven’t needed to drink since the end of June. I had the same issue! I had latent Lyme disease, they said Epstein-Barr and a candida overgrowth. But I also found out that the mold toxicity was really bad and causing all kinds of issues. I found the mold toxicity when you get this under control contains a lot of oxalates which caused an oxalate overload causing A lot of joint stiffness and severe heart pain along with dizziness and fever. I thought it was going to die. On top of this I had Candida overgrowth which I think was exacterated by the mold. Once I controlled the mold by doing red light therapy and activated charcoal daily and then controlled the Candida. My depression seemed to clear up almost overnight. Also found that oxalate overload was a big big issue. And that mold carries heavy oxalates when they die off. Started a little oxalate diet. Feeling pretty good! Did Lyme treatment 10 years ago, did anti fungals, I am just now learning about oxalates haha. The main trigger that causes these episodes of paralysis is right at the beginning of my period, I'm guessing the Estrogen (that I've read can increase glutamate release)may be the culprit. The two things that have helped me most are LDN and a stellate ganglion block, which resets your autonomic nervous system. I hope you have continued recovery. Thanks again 😀

@taDiggs yes I agree! Do you have similar symptoms and paralysis? I've figured out most of my triggers, unfortunately my body reacts so severely to my own hormones, so that totally sucks haha

I really hope you read my comment. I have a 76 year old sister who’s right now in a hospital, maybe getting discharged tomorrow after spending 20 days. Originally suffering from dysphagia for over a month suspected to be caused by Myastenia and now confirmed by antibody test. She went in for malnutrition and dehydration so doctors ran some tests and gave green light for a feeding tube to her stomach. Was supposed to go home on a Monday after spending 3 days in hospital but at 4 am had a cardio respiratory failure. Had to get a tracheostomy. Anyway, sorry for the long story but I was wondering if psychiatric meds she took for more than 10 years could have been the cause of her malabsorption of B vitamins? I know Myastenia is an autoimmune condition but nonetheless…. And her neurologist put her on Pyridostigmine witch I have the idea it comes from Pyridoxine but I’m not sure. What can I do for her? She’s in a frail state as you can imagine but I’m sure there could be some improvement if she gets some therapy with thiamine. What are your thoughts on this? Cheers from Mexico

Hallo Laura. I am currently dealing with a similar case. My grandfather has oropharyngeal cancer and it has caused dysphagia. Very frail and severely irritable. He was on depression meds for a while and we initially thought the hypersalivation he was experiencing was caused by the meds. At least that’s what the Drs thought. He had a feeding gastronomy inserted recently and we are still working around managing it. He is awaiting to undergo radiotherapy. We are still raising money for that as a family. I introduced a liquid iron and b complex supplement to him yesterday and I am still not sure how he is responding to it. He seemed severely irritatable after. Going to the Dr today for review. All the best with your sister. May the Lord heal our loved ones. What God cannot do does not exist. ❤

Medications do deplete the body of nutrients. Psychiatric meds are documented to do this and NO ONE tells you before giving them to you. It's outrageous

Please tell me this…. B vitamin and oxalate related questions….Do oxalates bind with calcium outside of the body? So, if I put milk in my tea PRIOR to drinking it, does the binding happened in the cup? I also read that B Vitamins help in destroying oxalate? Also, a couple of specific probiotics, so I have read. Lastly, fermented food helps - probably because of the probiotic, and it helps destroy oxalate in the fermentation process. Please tell me what you know, and if you don’t know look into this. I would love to see this included in one of your videos. Thank you for all of you fantastic work.

I had a few problems: mold toxicity, and Candida overgrowth. My doctor said I tested positive for a latent lime disease and the other doctor said Epstein-Barr and Candida overgrowth. My stiffness, depression and other symptoms were horrible. As I was killing off the mold, I found out that the die off causes oxalate overload. On top of that I was also eating a ton of oxlets and not realizing what was going on... When I went on the oxalate diet and started cleansing the mold with activated charcoal and also fixing the candida overload. I started feeling tons better. You have to make sure you're taking potassium magnesium and eating plenty of fermented foods and dairy foods to help with the oxalates as they do bind with calcium and potassium. I feel so much better since then

I’ve heard that calcium binds to the oxalates outside the body and inside. I believe that is why many cultures include cream with vegetables dishes.

Avoid veg by going on a carnivore diet for a few weeks to rid your body of oxalates.

Nutritionist Kelly N Norton (and others)says that oxalates cannot be destroyed via fermentation etc... Cooking can destroy, but very very little. I guess only oxalobacteria in our gut (if not killed as they are sensitive to antibiotics) can neutralise oxalates

I have IBD. If the GI system has some inflammation, it doesn’t absorb various nutrients properly. I was fortunate to encounter an old-school G.I. who tested my vitamin B1 which was rock bottom. Apparently, vitamin B1 can bottom out in when someone has poor nutrition or illness. Heavy alcohol use also affects vitamin B1.
