if it's dmr, you need full type cylinder even with 360mm barrel, cuz you are shooting heavy bbs, diferent ratios needed..

Also what hop up is the best for outdoor? Im planning on buying a zci 6.02 with the rhop patch installed. I dont really mind price im just seeing mixed reviews on the maxx and prowin

Hey real deal I use 363mm barrel and full cylinder full stroke and an m125 getting 445-450fps is it over volume? Will it effect the accuracy at range? I use maxx hop with rhop patch Should I change out for 3/4 cylinder? I tested it reaching 250ft easy nice and straight but not sure about accuracy

Hey sweet 416, but I have a couple of questions : 1 ) What's the cylinder to barrel ratio? in terms of air volume. 2 ) Is the gun optimized to a specific bb weight? 3 ) An M170 it's a crazy strong spring, the gun has some leaks between the gb and the hop chamber? why do you need such a spring to reach 500 with .20? -I have an M4 based DMR and it doing 505-515 with a Systema M140, original 18:1 K.A gears, full cylinder, and a 6.01/410mm barrel. 4 ) Have you tried the Mr Hop buckings from ML?

Im using 430mm ID 6.03mm / Element M165 Spring/ Element Hopup Chamber / Element UHT Motor / 200:100 Gearset / 70° Bucking = 589fps/3.89joules ( 0.2g bb ) average 582-591fps.

If I was to run something like say 455 mm and up then I consider a 90% and for 480mm and up I got with a non ported cylinder. In my experience this is for optimal use with two small of a barrel and going with a full cylinder you're actually going to kind of have the negative effect you know my DMR had a 509 mm barrel and I use the full cylinder I was at about 480 FPS about 1.9 joules and I used 0.36 BB's and I was getting about a comfortable 300 ft.

Hey Jake great build! I got a question. I’m planning on building the same 500fps set up. You mentioned you used 22tpa motor and paired it with 18:1 ss -1 tooth instead of a faster gearset. Well i currently already have a 19k 28tpa motor with me. What gear ratio should i use to have a snappy trigger response like your build? Should I go with 13:1 or 16:1? I’m thinking trigger response will be slow with 18:1. Thanks! Ya hearddd

Doesn't short stroking the sector gear lead to less cylinder volume being used because there aren't enough teeth to pull the piston further back? And don't you need the air volume if you want to play 0.36g or 0.4g BBs in 500mm + barrel?

A full cylinder in a v2 gearbox with a barrel that long will have a volume ratio of about 1.7-1.8 which is kind of low for a DMR imo. You have also short stroked the sector gear further decreasing the volume of the cylinder. How does this gun chrono on heavy bbs?

So I've just come across one of your videos and you seem quite knowledgeable on DMR builds. I am building off of a Specna Arms Core platform. So far, aluminum hop up, M-140 spring, G&G bucking, and have a 370mm/6.01 inner barrel on the way. I know I need a metal nozzle w/ O-ring, metal cylinder head, double O-ring piston head, but what else? I would like this thing to shoot 550fps. Can you give me some advice?

I mean how much stress can the stock one take before it breaks? currently Im using Scar H tpr from Ares/Cybergun, 18:1 gear set, Aeg 28tpa high torque motor, Guarder M120 spring, full cylinder, dural nozzle, epes piston head, 510mm ML barrel with ML Mr Hop bucking and its well shimmed. Now Im having around 380fps with 1,7 joules and shooting acurate in eta 50m, How can I maximize range as much as possible? Thanks in advance man

They say that the main thing that matters on the DMR builds - consistency of dem shots. How does this AEG goes with FPS consistency? I'm asking from the roof of currently planning my DMR custom build and choosing between AEG and HPA builds. I really don't wanna go HPA way, so...

I was thinking about creating an V3 based DMR because I have M14 gearbox full sets lying around. My target is at least 550 FPS at .20 if possible 650 FPS. The problem is, my country doesn’t have much variety in parts and my platform is based on V3 gearbox which is basically rubbing salt into injury. So here are the list of part I can get in my country 1. SHS Hightorque (Black) 2. G&P M140 (this one I have it already) 3. G&P M120 4. Systema (really high demand, overprice) 5. Spring M120~M190 is available with no trouble 6. Gear set only SHS brand available with available sets are 12:1, 13:1, 16:1, 18:1 (I have no problem importing gear set, but it can get very expensive due to custom) 7. Gate Titan Mosfet (only this available in V3) 8. Hop up bucking only maple brand available, although all variant is available 9. Piston parts is vastly available so not much of a problem (probably going with SHS or Maxx brand) Can anyone advice what to buy to get to my target FPS?, or modification I need to do(e.g. mod the spring)?. I never build DMR in my life and only experienced in V2 gearbox. Thx in advance.

Grub screw on your mag release on the inside right on the lip what grabs your mag a small grub screw and you only want it protruding a little bit otherwise it can start to damage your mags but I have tried velcro I've tried foam I've tried tape and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't it's more of a temporary fix especially if you're doing a custom build for a client you want s*** to be top shelf.

I love my DMR. 620 fps, 100 meter shooting range, my teammates love the sound when I shoot from behind and someone yells in bushes in front of them :D

Nice DMR "sleeper" build. A cut down stronger spring with spacers on the spring guide is actually a old school trick.

You need full cylinder cuz of air volume, but you cut gears so its not using the full volume. EDIT: wtf bro m170 and 500 fps ? :D:D i have m130 and getting 470 fps with hole in cylinder.

I don't mean to correct what you're saying but using a full cylinder for something of 400 mm is ridiculous with 400 MM you should use something like a 4/5 cylinder or if you go with low next they come in percentages so I have a barrel that's 420 mm custom cut and I have a 80% volume cylinder.

hey jake, im building my own dmr rn. Is what i have here good? im just doing abrrel and hopup because im on a budget Edgi stainless steel 6.01 455mm Madbull blue 60* soft modified tto fit r hop elvish tac r hop maxx me pro housing and using the concave nub with the maxx.

V2.5 gearbox is where it's at for DMRs, V2 with a full cylinder is too short for such a long barrel.

Why not use an m140? Avoid the spacer and cutting the spring? 390mm barrel , m140 spring (518fps)

Personally I would go with the 22tpa and a 16:1 short stroked two teeth with a m150-m170 spring. The lonex motors are old news they over heat and spin far to fast especially if you've got a heavy spring it's going to put that much more stress on that motor which is just going to create a whole bunch of unnecessary heat to you know your mosfet your battery everything else you build good s*** tonight telling you what to do I'm just saying I think that build could have gone 10 different ways that would have been better than that set up. It's funny because my first DMR 3 years ago was literally a complete copy of that setup minus the mosfet and I mean it rang great but you know with a whole bunch of repetitive shots it's got hot.

I dont understand why u short stroke sector gear, then use m170 spring, cut it and add spacers :D Thats nonsense. I would use m130, fullstroke gear and u get the same fps.... I run this setup with asg 40k boost motor and 13:1 gears and my trigger response is awesome. Also my rps is about 35

OR I'll take that offer for the m170, and if I get the m170 in on film, location on, I get half off the forementioned price if you're interested in some business and a challenge! Lmao after a while of research 900 fps in an aeg is almost impossible, so 1200 probably wouldn't cut it. 650 fps would be more realistic.

are you a girl? i had no issues with my m190 spring and i had a shorter gearbox . sadly the motor couldn't handle it with my dsg gears. Hell in aus we use gel soft not airsoft. how you gon' be hit by a harder shot but too much of a girl to do m180 easily.
