Tool-Assisted Speed run by GaRan (me) A hack by Albert V. More info go to metroidconstruction.com Thank you for watching! And please support me in my further TASes :)
this is the craziest tas ive ever watched, granted its also my first rom hack tas view but god damn i had to replay parts just to see what was happening
These are great. Watched this one, Hyper Metroid and Phazon. It's incredible to watch and it's pretty cool to see the title logos I made for Ancient Chozo and Phazon too! Two thumbs up
@@TheFtd87 No, at the end, there's a single pixel that flies from the exploding planet, off to the right. If you don't save the animals, that pixel isn't shown.
I played the oriiginal game back in 1994 and the whole experience was fucking excellent. Hearing the music from this game again but through headphones really brings me back to playing this game as a kid good times for sure. I bought a cartridge version of this hack and can't wait to to play it.
I know how ROMhacks of Super Metroid are made. But I still don't have a clue as to how TAS's are made. My guess would be two words: very carefully 😁 The level of skill displayed here is awe-inspiring!
It's excellent but like it's essentially just a remix of Super Metroid. I would strongly suggest one play Vitality, Ascent, Hyper Metroid, Escape 2, Eris, and Super Zero Mission over Ancient Chozo as they are all original layouts and are essentially brand new games. Eris and Super Zero Mission are rather hard though. Nature and the Y Faster Games are also arguably as good as Ancient Chozo depending on who you ask. It's not just Super Metroid that has great hacks either as Rogue Dawn, Over The Moon, Excursion, and Metroid HD are exceptional NEStroid hacks that are well worth playing. Basically what I'm getting at is don't sleep on the Metroid Hacking community as their's a literal wealth of amazing Metroid Games well worth playing. I listed 13 and could of easily mentioned a bunch of other hacks that are still very good despite being short (GrandPrix, B2-TW), noticeably flawed (Phazon, Redesign, Z-Factor), or a combination of both (So Little Garden).
I just played through this as of writing this comment. I have to say, watching this TAS really was entertaining to see how this game can be run. Seriously, why can’t Nintendo celebrate amazing passion projects created by fans. It did Sega wonders with Sonic.
If you save the animals before getting on the ship and flying away, you will see their ship escaping as well! It's in the original Super Metroid as well. The devs and their attention to detail! :D
Did he influence the direction of shinespark mid flight? Never seen that strat before XD Well waht did i expect its TAS with crazy awesome mechanical strats as always ;D
Yeah, it came from the new technique called "back flip" that the author added in this hack (while crouched, hold run, then press & hold jump + back button), so that when you back flip underneath a crumble block, it will break :)
@@garan1988 Awesome! But how do they do the trick here https? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A0wH8WfXRPs.html what do they backflip from?
@@jettowns7230 The damage boost animation is the same one that the backflip uses, thus creating the same effect. That TAS first does a backflip to break the first crumble, then uses a damage boost from the fly to break the crumble block just below the super, allowing for a wall jump up.
Hi, do you use Discord at all? I'd love to have a chat about the TAS in the Project Base Discord, if you'd be willing. Great work, it looks really good!
Can you shine spark a lot easier in this game or were you kind of cheating with it. Because you could never do that kind of shine spark in zero mission or fusion
Modded Super Metroid roms created a new mechanic with the shine spark / speed booster where you could use it pretty much infinitely when timed and angled correctly!
They made the game easier and shorter on many notations. Life pools of bosses. Shine spark no health costs. Faster speed boost and charge. It's like handicaptroid not Metroid :(
If anything, the TAS makes it seem like the bosses are weak. Some things like the Kraid quick-kill are possible by skilled human players, and having Plasma is a major advantage against most bosses outside of Ridley. The rest of it is mainly quality of life improvements on things inside the main game. The hacking community is quite impressive as to what they do, and they have pulled off things that can easily make this game harder. :3
This game is TERRIBLE. I can't get pasted Draygon. I don't know any of the special techniques, so I'm fucked. Plus, there are areas on the map where you need to use speed-ball to get pass a speed block, and I don't know how to do that. I'm done with this hack.
