DC doesn't generally like having 2 similar or the same characters on different medias or shows, and Stargirl Season 2 will already have 1 Green Lantern, and HBO will have thousands of them, probably Diggle won't be a lantern anytime soon.

@@thefoeofdrip1184 it’s not stupid at all. It is weird though. In the original pre-crisis universe Clark only had one child and he was still a newborn baby at the time. Then when he returned after Oliver helped recreate the multiverse he came home to Lois to find two adolescent boys. That’s why people think this story could take place in the future, because the show never explicitly stated what the full effects of the post-crisis changes were. It’s all just implied.

They did say last year they were very restricted about what they can use of green later because of the upcoming show. That's why he just saw a green glow in the box. So maybe they won't ever be able to show him fully in the suit. Kinda like how titans has Bruce Wayne but didn't show batman.

@@ryanmussell739 The show runners have said from the start and they even set it up in Crisis that is was always Earth Prime. the reason they don't mention the other shows much is HBO Max WBTV want to distance the show off from the others they want it to be it it's own thing and not just another generic arrowverse show, also WB TV are actually the ones running the show not CW people say it's a CW show because it airs on the CW but it's a actual WB show, they arranged for this in return of using the Arrowverse Superman.

@@YasharelYahawadah It's not by HBO MAX actually, it's new production money CW got from WB and technically because it has to go to HBO MAX later. HBO Itself doesn't have any involvement. And it's all Panavision Equipment, used in high budget series, used in HBO too. It's Arri Alexa hardware.

According to David Ramsey they couldn't guarantee the order these episodes would air in due to COVID, so yeah his comments are kind of generic so they could be aired before or after Flash. Diggle supposedly originally had a more distinct arc through the guest appearances.

So it fits because they are already well connected. Barry always needs some kind of pep talk and having Oliver or Diggle there to do it for him just fits.

Such a major plot hole. Since it was now confirmed that this Diggle is not from Earth-Prime. Apparently, this Superman is the only hero on this earth. So how did Diggle and “Oliver” fight beside this Superman.

Also in the Superman & Lois season 2 finale John Diggle (from Superman & Lois's Earth) revealed to the alternate version of John Henry Irons from another Earth that the John Henry Irons (from Superman & Lois's Earth) was killed by Bruno Mannheim. So Superman, Oliver (Green Arrow) and the rest of the other superheroes, the ones that didn't appear on any of the Arrowverse's shows from Earth-Prime fought side-by-side together many years ago. And it's unknown if the "Other Heroes" on Superman & Lois's Earth are still active and if they're not then they either retired or died. There's also possibly that the Superman & Lois universe also have doppelganger versions of the heroes from Earth-Prime that are also either retired or died.

Well this scene kind of made things messy considering they just confirmed that S&L is another Earth different from the Arrowverse. Name dropping Oliver and the “others” implies there are other superheroes on this planet but there isn’t. Unless they’re just referring to this world meeting Oliver and the others in the past since Sam said he seen other worlds and their leagues of heroes in the season 2 finale

They did make it confusing but it was always gonna be an arrowverse show, I think the pandemic made them cut out a lot of refrences. Like Clark having a phot of Kara on his desk. Diggle confirming it is good news.

I gotta say, him appearing in every show the last couple of weeks, from Batwoman to (what I can assume his ancestor, Bass Reeves) DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and now The Flash and Superman and Lois, makes me really hope his ascension to Green Lantern of Earth-1 will be in an episode of Supergirl when it comes back. I really hope HBO goes with a Green Lantern show. It’d be a shame not to.

Well now, he’s appeared in Batwoman during episode 2x16, The Flash on 7x16 and Superman & Lois in 1x12. Next up, Supergirl episode 6x12. And apparently, David Ramsey will have both directed the episode & was seen on set of it quite possibly wearing the Legion ring. 👀

When you actually think about the timeline having Superman being Superman for over 20 years still fits into the current Post Crisis timeline. Clark was already Superman when Kara arrived on earth and was still basically a 12 year old and current Kara is an Adult. By the time she arrived Superman was well established as a hero so he was definitely saving people for more than a a few years by then so we could probably estimate this show to be taking place not 20 years after other Arrow verse shows but probably less than 10

also, it was *always* confirmed to be set in the Arrowverse. at one point, there were plans for a crossover with Batwoman. however, with COVID altering the production schedule and Ruby Rose quitting, those plans were scrapped

Hopefully Supergirl is part of it as well. It could be her finale team-up last crossover and a way to say goodbye for her. But with her show ending who knows

It does feel like they could've utilized Diggle a bit more. He definitely wasn't going to become GL in this episode (and likely will not in Supergirl) but he could've appeared in a few more scenes, chatted with Clark after he was saved, etc. It does feel like the writers already had the story and worked Diggle into a few scenes as opposed to writing the episode around him guesting. Only The Flash ep really felt like it delivered a full appearance.

I think the reality is the original Arrow show runners picked up on the 'Diggle is John Stewart' fan theory and ran with it without really ever having permission to use GL in the Arrowverse. I think at this point it's a dance of trying to keep the fan service going while figuring out if they can get DC/WB's permission to actually deliver GL in full.
