There's orders of magnitude difference between a few extraordinary individuals, and an entire alternate world, with other versions of every human alive, that's "merging" with your own.
Time travel and existance of extraterrestrial life are pretty close to our reality than alternate worlds (with the "same people") that the former may be more seen as realistic, especially if these thing did get observed much earlier.
I love how Tyler played that scene. Calm, dignified, respectfully acknowledging everyone. A strong stable anchor, even without powers. The crowd immediately settled down when he entered, and grew calm as he spoke.
So they can clearly see and believe that Superman exists, knowing he's not from earth, but can't believe there's an alternate world with dopplegangers? Yeah, Smallville definitely deserves everything that's happened to them.
They even witnessed dead Kryptonians coming back from the beyond and possessing their family and friends, but yeah, alternate world doppelgangers is a stretch. LOL
Well man, I think its believable to be skeptic. I mean hell, look at our current world right now. We just ended a pandemic that even with millions dead, many believed it was just a conspiracy theory. We humans just sometimes find it hard to believe what we cannot understand. I mean sure, you find out an alien exists in your world, but then youre also told that there is another dimension with someone exactly like you going around? Id be like "bruh, cmon, give me a break" lol
After seeing how people during the pandemic hung on to their comfort zones until death, ignoring what's right in front of their faces, the insufferable idiots in movies, are actually real and very believable.
I geeked out the minute Superman showed up. Tyler kills it as Superman. The second he shows he feels like a beacon of hope even without his powers. This is why Superman is the greatest hero
I loved how Clark looks down at dude, when he said "server her own interest," Looked like George was going to say something but thought better of it. love this damn show!
People who say Superman is a boring character don't understand what he's supposed to be about. It's never about his amazing powers, it's more than anything else that he's a genuine friend to the world. A smiling neighbor who will try to be there for the helpless if he can because he can without an ulterior motive. Everyone here is told that Superman has lost his powers and even after Clark confirms it himself everyone is still completely calm and collected because of his presence. He's a person not a god that people know they can trust after he's spent over 2 decades helping people across the world and still without his powers is able to be a beacon of hope. The writers of this show truly understand what Superman is at the core of his character, as Christopher Reeve said more than anything else, Superman's a friend.
Superman going into a room of scared people and filling them with hope is how Superman should be. It is why Tyler is the best Superman we have had in years. He doesn't have to say he stands for hope (like some other Superman's), he just does it.
@@NoDamageGaming all muscle, no personality. Basically 70s Arnold Schwarzenegger. (not an attack on Henry Cavill, he just had shit scripts to work with)
@@NoDamageGaming except Tyler is extremely buff but they wanted to make him look bigger, muscle suits don’t work unless you already have muscle and if you saw the new suit you’d see it’s more form fitting
I love this version of Superman.. it shows that he is one of us, he is human.. and his powers come from his heart and his family.. MAN OF STEEL, BUT HEART OF GOLD
Tyler Hecholen has really grown on me, when he first debuted in Supergirl, I was really skeptical about his portrayal of Superman/Clark Kent, but over time he has really proved himself to be worthy of the Mantel of Superman, I hope he stayes in the role for years to come
lookalikes from another world is so hard for them to believe but they have a man from another planet flying around saving people with his super strength and heat vision
Nah. The point of him not having powers is to show that all his athletic achievements are pure talent rather than latent powers. If he really needed powers he can just take XK like how Jon El inhales Kryptonite to boost his powers. Johnathon can easily get XK from Candace.
@@AMysticLegend Yeah, that's the whole point of Johnathan, that a hero doesn't need powers, only a good heart. And that's true in both fiction, and non-fiction.
@@DonKennyel that’s the thing… I think we all “KNOW” Jon will get powers EVENTUALLY. The question is how long it’ll take until they show up. Probably after one or two experiences with near death… Unless they go the Smallville route… and we only see something passing for it at the very end shot…
As much as I love this series, they need to get the muscle suit to fit Tyler's shape better. Do the suit just as The Boys does the suit for Antony Starr (Homelander).
@@LiyhaMarie Look again. Tyler's suit in the shoulder area is bigger than his actual shoulders and creases a lot. It makes his head look small compared to the rest of him. Other than that, the suit is great.
It’s supposed to be like that for Homelander as he relies solely on his powers and that alone as he has no actual fighting skill, which is proven when he comes up against people who are as strong or stronger
I thought "reveals the truth" would be revealing clark kent = superman to everyone, kind of dissapointed, but that's what i get for not watching the show and assuming things about a clip from season 2 xD
Watching this scene, I feel like i’d tell the town nothing yet. This scene just looks so cringy seeing Lana trying to explain what’s going on, as if the town would even understand anything about what she’s talking about.
The town just experienced a man soul swap them with alien technology, and live a world where Superman exists. It shouldn’t be that big of leap to believe what she’s saying.
@@kdubbss0583 If I was there I might believe it if the president tells this. But a Mayor of a small town telling this shit when its a world wide phenomenon feels utterly stupid.
@@swapniljoshi2939 not really. The people living in the town have already experienced literal body swapping. Again they live in a world where Superman, Supergirl, and The Flash exists. You can choose not to believe it, but it isn’t that big of a leap to take…
As much is i love Henry Cavill, Tyler is my superman, the show is simply amazing, best thing that happened to Arrowverse after casting Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin.
I was sooooo glad when he shut that man up! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ They were all ready to string her up no wonder they were been constantly fed lies cos THEY CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH lol
I like how he wears a suit that is obviously making him look buff. It is so noticeable. Also, when he is just in normal attire he is way smaller. . lol
@@SansoHumar What? The show is very political, more than most superheroe shows, if you consider diversity politics , which you shouldn't , you may be right but there is a very clear political agenda on this show as there has always been with Superman since its creation
It looks ridiculous. And the proportions of the fake musculature are so bad, they remind me of a kid's first attempts to draw the superheroes he sees in the comics. It's nice if the show is popular with a lot of people, but it looks like DC has degenerated to PC.
Ex-Mayor Dean had a small part in an episode of Smallville, where he said that he wasn't surprised that Clark's dad shot Lionel Luthor, which he didn't. That actor has had the most punchable face in Smallvile for the whole 21st century.
03:55 "beware of anyone who doesn't seem like themselves" feels like terrible advice when the sun turned red and a crisis is looming. People are going to be on edge and vague advice like that see somebody get hurt real fast
With all the crazy superpowered alien shit that has been happening in that small town, you would think everyone would just pack up and leave. Its a small town, not a big city.
I'm surprised that they don't go to an earth that has no superheroes or any aliens vigilantes or anything like that because nowhere is on the earth of the DC Universe are safe and this is coming from somebody who loves DC universe
Why didn't Lana punch him herself? She's a strong independent woman and legally will get away with any assault on a straight white Man in this era with ease!
Whoever is in charge of the costume department needs to be fired ASAP just look at Tyler's Superman suit it looks as if it's pulling his shoulders down Superman is suppose to be tall full of confidence. This looks like a body suit they put poor Tyler in & I know he's worked very hard to have the Superman physique they need a costume that's going to show it. As for the people of Smallville they need to learn to rely on themselves. Superman & others like him aren't always going to be around to save them & the ex mayor obviously thinks Lana isn't fit to be the new mayor he's probably secretly a sexist pig. He looks like he's ready to explode with anger & is jealous of Lana having Superman speak on her behalf. Yeah these townsfolk should get what's coming to them I mean really they believe in worldly powerful beings but not doublegangers?
"Where do you get your information from!?" is actually a legitimate question from that one guy in the crowd. And she does genuinely sound like a crazy, crooning cult leader.
At 1:23, the blonde guy behind the mayor (right side) kinda looks like Homelander. Dunno if anyone else saw that and thought it, but I think it's kinda funny
A town that reactionary just got told that they can't trust people to be who they look like, and it's played like they won't instantly start which hunting.
It's not just the glasses though. It's how he carries himself as a person. His behavior, his mannerisms, his overall personality. As Clark, he's rather unassuming, a klutz at times, shy and awkward. Superman is none of these things. People see what they wanna see, even when the disguise is so plainly obvious.
@@TheRealThunder they did a comic that explains that his glasses are kryptonian tech that scrambles people's perception of him, so they literally can't recognize Clark as superman.
@@TheRealThunder we’re talking about human features, not how he behaves. He played many other roles, puts on make up and everything , yet he’s still recognizable.
"If the world is in danger, Superman will save us!" Wow. Way to justify Lex Luthor's whole argument that Superman's existence makes humanity weak and submissive.
considering the circumstances it was said in response to I think its a clear example of how a lot of poeple tend to take advantage and abuse some people's good intentions. i think having someone like superman around and he not having boundaries on how involved he will be with helping would just highlight some people's inclination to being lazy and eventually entitled. its like getting rich, having money doesn't make you a horrible person, it just allowed you to be the horrible person you couldn't afford to actually before.
This show is honestly one of the best live action projects DC has put out. They nail almost everything in it, but for the life of me I can’t understand why they changed the fckng suit to the point where he looks like he was a member of the Turtle Club for the entire 2nd season. It’s so weird, it’s like they were looking for a way to blow the show’s Good will. Outside of that, this season was fantastic! Also, that finale was something special.
Clark really is a great friend to Lana reminds me of me and my best friend we'll always have each other's back. Hated how everyone laughed I mean yes it sound's crazy but of all the crazy things that have happened in Smallville is it really that hard to believe I mean last year you had dead Kryptonians taking over bodies plus everything else that's happened in the Arrowverse so yeah not all that crazy.
Why did they change the suit from the first season, look pretty good, The Superman suit this season really does look awkward sometimes especially in this scene.
It’s not the suit it’s the man wearing it don’t get me wrong he might be a good actor just not as Superman Superman is a fifty fifty deal you have to look the part Ben affleck is another that don’t sell it as Batman and to finish things off the last James Bond can’t think of his name at the moment but he looks like he is sucking lemons they have to sell the part or look the part otherwise in my opinion it doesn’t work🤷♂️
Seriously, everything about this show is wonderful... EXCEPT for his damn muscle suit. Everytime he's on screen it just takes me right out of the moment.
why arent any of the justice league members hearing about what going on? there's literally a whole ass red sun and evil versions of superman etc coming to their world. and NOOOO ONEEEEE is gonna bother coming to help save the day? hmmmmm
There’s no justice league in this universe just certain heroes don’t think Batman exists green arrow is dead etc but the few of them are connected this always confused me cause they always go through world ending events yet never show up to help each other
I thought Supermen Movies would be the Superman Strongest Character but it seems that he got always Beated first and he needs human help and i don't know maybe in other series or movie he will become Superweak not Superman But guys I'm a huge fan of Superman Movies
I just wish they kept this in the Arrowverse. Diggle mentioned Oliver and the others in season 1 but then in season 2 it was retconned as a different Earth, also explains why in season 3 Bruno Mannheim looks like Tobias Church and Lex Luthor isn't Jon Cryer anymore.
A sun from another solar system? That's insane, I don't believe you! Another world trying to merge with Earth? Bullshit! Doppelgangers? That's impossible! But Superman, an alien with superpowers who can levitate and fly on his own? All hail Superman!!
They need to tone down the padding in the suit going forward. Terrific show, terrific vibes and acting. But looking at how silly that suit looks in certain angles kills the impact for me.
Most of Smallville deserves the calamity they had. The good and innocent are the only victims deserving of care. The ingrate fuckers who lived and saw superpowered beings wouldn't believe about doppelgangers?
When clark is living in a big city, working with people at the bugle that dont personally know superman, i dont mind the lack of disguise thing. Its fine. But here like... all these people personally know clark kent. They've met him many times. And he's now standing right in front of them. There is no scenario not one of them goes damn thats clark kent. Especially given theyd look at his face before the costume.
