Facts its one thing if your being the attacker but dude literally dropped in on him at home and he was nearly jumped by his goons in his town superman wouldnt be saying all that hyprocritcal nonsense if the army or mannihiems people dropped in on his fortress or the Kent farm only reason he talking BULL cause hasnt happen to him
Dont get me wrong I Love superman but sometimes the writing makes him sound a like a dick and i get his conflict is the cancer so he is a bit bias and conflicted
@@AurianWarriorOfDarkness He hasnt had that happen with mannihiem but it did pretty much happen when he found out Tal was his brother remember army a kryptonians flying against the sun set going in their direction one of the biggest oh fuck moments of the first season
Agreed! Not to mention the fact that Steel is not an indestructible alien like Superman. He was attacked by a powered person in his own home, and Henry Miller was coming after him. It would have been irresponsible not to take that swing. Henry Miller knew there would be consequences to his actions, he just didn’t expect to lose the fight.
"If he dies... he can never make it right. If he dies, *this* is the best he will ever be. Saving him is how we save the world." -Superman, when asked why he spares his enemies
He was wrong. He’s not nothing without the suit. On his earth, he was a soldier; that gives him tactics. He built the suit and designed and built the hammer, too. Just like Batman and Lex Luthor, his intellect is his greatest strength.
I don’t know why John Henry is getting vilified, that guy was trying to kill him and may have succeeded if he didn’t have his hammer, it was self defense plus Miller was going to die anyway
Miller was lucky Superman always holds back against his opponents at first. It's clear Miller didn't even seriously hurt him. If Miller was still standing when Clark returned, he wouldn't have been for long.
got to wonder how far this tension will go. It can easily be argued JHI had good reason to do it, but it is also pretty plain to see his judgement is being a bit clouded and he is coming undone. He is beginning to act like The Stranger again
Are you watching the same show? He was going to kill John. It's been multiple attempts on his life by the same group of people. He had every right to raid Brunos apartment. Bruno and his wife are cold blooded killers. John Henry's actions are 100% justified.
@@micahfranklin4560 bruh you need help i see you in all the coments doing th same shlt we get it you dont like him. but he is right he is just a human he cant act like superman.
Yeah like what he supposed to do he is a human without armour against a superpowered guy and he jumping on him he had to deflect the attack or he would be dead
Man this show is SO GREAT! I mean within 2 episodes John Henry got; Beat up at the restaurant, almost killed by the mom, jumped at his car, and then almost killed by a super villain. I totally feel for the guy lol!
@@blacky8987 considering people saw him kill a guy in front of them and also beat Bruno’s henchmen earlier, it’ll probably have people looking at him very differently than before.
This was self defense. What was he supposed to do? Besides, Miller was a dead man before. What’s to stop Mannheim from resurrecting him again to finish him off next time? If Mannheim knew who Superman was he would send mercenaries to his home the same way he sent them to attack John on the street. I wonder how calm Clark would be if that was to happen to him. It is easy for him to judge.
Lol! Didn't yall give clark a hard time with him taking the life of Zod in Man Of Steel when he snapped his neck despite he had threatened Clark's mother Lois and the entire planet?
Superman be getting his but kicked way too much 😮 it’s almost like Supergirl getting her but kicked too much. Superman is one of the most powerful heroes ever I wish they would show more of the characters greatness.
Yeah idk what the writers are on about with this one, that was self defense. Now dont get me wrong I'm against superheroes executing criminals especially if they could subdue them without lethal force. (That kind of judgement should be made in court) but john was backed into a corner with very little options. I'm just glad john doesn't seem to be in any real trouble for it.
03:45 John should have been like no you have a choice cause you have the power to make a choice. Different note next week on Superman and Lois, Superman and Lane talk about him needing back up and since John Henry is kind of a hot head, bring in Superboy, I know I know but it would be so funny,
"You're nothing without the suit" HE MADE THE DAMN THING. If it came from his mind the suit is OF him not the other way around. Miller is ANOTHER mans creation.
There was no choice in that situation. Superman saw it himself. Can’t always play the golden boy part. That guy had Kryptonian strength, was Henry supposed to just let him kill him instead?😂😂 Comon Supes!!
It's still crossing the line. It's not a kill or be killed situation. John Henry Irons definitely had to defend himself, but that doesn't mean he had to go for the kill against Henry Miller.
@@StareachValcin yes he did lmfao why are u in every comment justifying on why he didn’t have to kill Henry like dude Henry Miller was charging at John Henry full super speed he was legit about to get killed and Superman was a bit far away
Please remember j.h s hammer isn't a star trek phaser with a stun setting and a kill setting ,so j.h can just use the stun setting . if atom man gets to j.h then he's dead so j.h HAS to use his hammer . how the neck is he supposed to know how hard to hit him with it , so that it will knock him out but not kill him . that's ridiculous . he's obviously just going to hit him as hard as he can .
John Henry killed the man who was trying to kill him but they saying he was wrong for defending himself 🤷🏾♂️ I never thought that vibe would make it in the superman show SMH
@@micahfranklin4560 John is human and the dude trying to kill him has powers. He just knocked Superman to freaking outter space and John was left alone to defend himself against someone who wanted to kill him slowly. Sounds like to me he had no choice but to cross the line or get killed himself 🤷🏾♂️
What a lot of people don't get is that John has been in 2 Wars, one against Humans and one against Kryptonians and on top of that, his Wife was Murdered and his Planet was destroyed, so he is LONG past caring about killing.
John Henry Irons definitely had to right to defend himself, but there are lines that can't be crossed as humans. I am not sure if this was a no choice scenario, but I do accept that this was a scenario where John was acting in self defense.
I'm kind of confused Superman can hear everything from Metropolis to the Whole world and yet he cant pick up something going in his Own Town not even Jordan picked it up for the sake of the plot its like huh jordan has power either one of them should have picked up the distubance or helped out John in either instance
If you watch supergirls, there is ep when the parent teach them to control and focus on things they want to listens. it is to prevent massive amount of sound that disorient them. But how will you expect superman to eavesdrop every single person in the world, so of course, He will know when there are large disturbance with a little storyplot.
Jordan told Jonathan he was gonna go easy with his powers for a while. Since sups and him control this power when they decide to focus, it makes sense that at least Jordan didn't pick it up
Supes came off wrong here if you ask me. Steel isn't him. HE can be hurt. What the hell was he supposed to do. Wait to be killed or for Supes to get there in time to stop this powered up psycho from killing him.
Superman isn't wrong from his perspective. To Superman he can handle Henry without much problem once he gauges how strong he is and how much he needs to use to take him down nonlethally. John Henry Irons here had no choice. Was it a mistake no was it worth it no someone still died. Superman would later be put into this situation with Doomsday. The point of no return a foe he has no choice but to try to put down lethally.
yeah it's easy to say John shouldn't have killed Henry Miller and to Judge him and to be self righteous and morally superior when you're bulletproof have the strength of ten men unbreakable bones can run faster then a speeding bullet and you have superstrength and you can pick a guy up and throw him 30 feet isn't it kal-el.😀😀😀😀
What else was steel supposed to do let him charge at him 😂🤔 that’s why I don’t like heroes like Superman cause there afraid to kill u have to do what u have to do sometimes
plot hole with the hammer. it gains kinetic energy the further the distance there fore the first blow shouldve been stronger than the 2nd yet a simple hammer swing killed him. Unless it keeps stores of kinetic energy from previous impact
Ok so let me to the math for you Full speed flight + stored kinetic energy = certain death It was a combination of henry flying at that speed and johns hammer storing that kinetic energy after the first hit
Look i get why Superman doesn't kill people but he's not in John shoe's even if John didn't want to kill Henry he didn't have a choice one of them was going to die That's the one thing I don't like about Superman he's to merciful
you shouldnt use attributes as new characters , in case you dont want u.s.a. to be remote controlled (i aint black nor a resident kf england despite being anglo and tanned
Man this show really making Superman look weak…idk why they keep relying on giving ppl Superman powers over n over. Guessing there isn’t gonna be a season 4
Okay well uh the guy was dead before right so no need to give John Henry to much crap on killing right just saying the guy was dead before so in a way he killed a zombie or something minus the eating brains
This season is not good like the first two seasons. Too much drama, focusing on side characters and no action. I hope this show doesn't continue on this way!
for the folks saying they wouldn’t have kill him you are full of cap. because i bet if someone came attacking u in ur home saying they going to make you suffer u would’ve done the same thing John did if you had the chance
Well, that’s Superman for you. The real Superman. The Superman that believes that taking a life is never an option. Not the broody alien god from the new movies
Okay, Mr keep it always cool Superman, he is human. You just knocked that dude into the pavement, car, and other stuff and say "there is a choice" when he uses his hammer. What stupid writing.
No need to fret over it. This show is a superhero show you know. If I want to watch drama, I'd watch soap operas. I know the emotional aspects are important but damn, there are too much crying and slow talking this season and less fighting scenes. At least do it once an episode you know. Superman is still supermanning and stuff. Like Smallville. I enjoyed Smallville till the end. Somewhere in the middle of Superman and Lois, I was thinking this show is slowly turning into the Flash. Might drop it after this season. But I'll see how it goes first.
@@zaQba I would rather have properly written and directed dramatic scenes with good acting than a bunch of mindless destruction. Zack Snyder did that and look how things turned out for him.
@@zatchbell622 I agree. but like the other person commented, there were too much boring stuff this season. I kept looking at phone most of the time, bored out of my mind, and I am no longer excited when a new episode came out. Unlike the previous seasons. So, like I said, they need balance like Smallville. Some episodes are emotional, but still keep the action alive. Not talk among themselves 80% of the episode for the whole season.
This whole story with Lois being sick takes the whole fun out of a Superman show. People were saying MOS is dark…not really. This is way darker and depressing. Show turned into a nightmare and just a tool for writers to send messages
Wrong. The show is very very relatable. As much as we're watching superheroes, knowing they're dealing with everyday problems makes it feel.... More.... Like you and I. Being superman yet helpless in the face of his wife's sickness, teenage children issues, etc
@@qkik6240 which makes it more relatable considering that this is the reality of many persons today. A loved one battling with a terminal illness while the rest have to stay strong and not lose hope especially in the presence of that loved one
Man of steel used a darker tone because it wanted to sully Superman. Here it is used to weaken him. Something he can not do. He can't stop cancer. He is powerless to it. All his abilities and he is left a shell of a man as he watches his wife die. This is far more humanizing and far more believable situation. Is it dark no is depressing yes. It is the emotions it is trying to pull from you.
i hate superman character sometimes like i get his the good boy scout and he will always do the right thing and always choose the path thats difficult if it means saving someone's life or giving the villains a chance to redeem themselves. BUT not everyone is a SUPER that can tolerate a rocket to the face, like it just another tuesday. For a grown ass man his common sense is worst than a child and his naivety is what will get his fellow heroes killed.
That’s usually why he tells the other heroes to stay away from the fight. He’s the one that can take the hits. No reason for them to get hurt or possibly killed when they have someone who basically can’t be hurt.
@Ryan Alexander in that scenario I can understand. But if a villian had a advantage on superman or his "super friends" had was force a fight they couldn't avoid what then
Again I see the hidden typical anti black male Hollywood writing in these scenes making look ineffective. Doing the racially bias angles he's taller then Tylor now I really the only black writer left the show. Plus notice how they write father daughter scenes she's very disrespectful just how they had written Black Lightening as well
They make Tyler look taller because he's Superman. He's canonically supposed to be six foot four, while Tyler in reality is like five foot ten. I think John Henry is one of the stronger, more competent, and more masculine characters on a show with a very feminine bent to it's character writing.
Even defending his home from an assassination attempt he is somehow STILL in the wrong. Because being angry and black is somehow the equivalent of dropping a nuclear bomb. It’s a “superpower” that needs to be kept in check😂 He is supposed to see things Clark’s way, because Clark came to his rescue. But a Supervillian came to his HOME!
Remember that in this show Supervillains have come to Clark’s home and threatened his family before. Specifically Tal-Rho did it in the first season. Clark has certain lines that he never crosses which would just be unrealistic in our world. The audience is meant to empathize with John and understand why he made the decisions he did in spite of Clark’s upset. It’s meant to be morally complex and ambiguous, not to demonize anyone.
Superman is selfish , he just want his concious be the weightless , he doesnt care how many people the bad guys kill , how come its not about the dead innocent people and always about the villians
