+MandiTV Well, if your up to date on every episode right now Sam is getting visions of the cage so saving adam from the cage and facing those challenges might come sooner rather than later. I'm curious to see if Lucifer and Michael make it out of the cage as well because that would make some great supernatural episodes to come.
Makes it so much better knowing that the reaction of Jared and Jensen were genuine, they had never heard this before shooting and actually made them emotional!
Only because the show was dumb enough to turn him into a villain at the last minute. This was not planned at all. The series was ending and the writers figured that the Winchesters might as well fight the strongest player when it does. People talk like chuck was always meant to be a villain but that can't be further from the truth. The show was originally supposed to end with season 5 so I don't care that the title of the episode had monster in it, chuck wasn't evil until the time writers thought was convenient. I still see chuck as the one who tried to sacrifice himself to save the the world from the darkness, the one who stopped lucifer from destroy humanity years ago. I like jack but no matter how bad the writers made chuck, jack can't replace him. Especially when he simply sucked the power out of him instead of there being a epic fight.
+Janel The Geek (2manyfandoms) PEOPLE LETS ADRESS ANOTHER ISSUE, WHY DIDNT THEY DO ANYTHING WITH CHUCK?!?!?! YOU CANT JUST THROW HIM IN OUR FACE AND NOT EXPECT US TO WANT A BACKGROUND STORY OF WHY HE LEFT US WONDERING IF HES DEAD OR NOT
Jay WalkZ they still have another season and from the other episode that i seen ***SPOILERS******* where dean was torturing metatron they might reintroduce lucifer as Metatron mentioned in the latest episode that the mark is old magic and that either god or lucifer have to remove it and speaking of that, God has not shown up and it was mentioned in season 5 that he didn't want to get involved so they might have to get lucifer to remove the Mark of Cain
Add this to a list of favorite spn scenes, the cover has me crying, dean hanging samulet had me crushing, and chuck had me screaming. What a time to be alive
The tears won't stop TT_TT I've wanted this for so long. For the boys to hear this song I mean. Their faces... They looked like they were sad yet relieved that someone realized how tired they were, how much they've been through.
What's heartbreaking is that's the only time in their entire lives that they see their entire family in one place. This literally makes me cry like a baby every time but it's the greatest gift the show could give the boys as a good job. The first time to see their entire family alive with song in their souls.
Richard Strong I know that he was the author and everything it's just that with his disappearance at the end of season 5, it makes me wonder if he is actually an angel of some sort. Remember how there can only be one prophet alive at a time and Kevin was a prophet so Chuck is clearly more than that. Intriguing.
When the blonde girl began to sing, and in that way, I began to tear up. Then when dean hung up the necklace in the impala I full on cried. I haven't gotten to season 10 yet, im only on season 6 and on the last few episodes.
+Mrs Nightmare It's pretty good, compared to the other post-Swan Song seasons. They really cut down on the unnecessary conflict between Dean and Sam that plagued the recent seasons, which was always a huge sticking point for me. I mean, the guys are in their thirties now; sure, there's something to say for them being brothers, but that level of conflict and utter refusal to trust each other shouldn't be THAT prominent after so many years of working together like this. ESPECIALLY that whole 'Gadreel' thing.
I just got to this episode. I was wondering when this would show. I’m on season 10 now. I love that I have all the seasons. That way Supernatural Dean and Sam will live on in me forever.
I cry every time I watch this scene. The arrangement is *that* beautiful. Then we have Adam. Sam and Dean may have forgotten him since Season 6, but the fans never did. We are the girls in that respect, reminding the brothers of what they forgot. Last, but certainly not least, there is Chuck. When I first watched this scene, I may have screamed...twice. My niece came down, asking what was wrong. How could I ever begin to explain to a six year-old girl that a character from a TV show had reappeared after a five year absence, all but proclaiming himself to be God?
one of the funniest episodes but that's not the main thing about it :D i just couldn't stop my tears right there seing Jensen and Jared faces while listening to these song :D Supernatural isnt just a show it's a way of life :D Supernatural 4life
The Impala Well, if I understood the show's 'definition' of "Prophets" (of the Lord), There can only be one active "Prophet" at one time. That is, in order for a new "Prophet" to be "activated" and thus introduced to the show, the incumbent actually has to die or be killed off. In an older episode, Crowley somehow got a list of names of all the people who were chosen to become "Prophets" kidnapped them and killed one or more of them (i can't remember how many). Kevin Tran, though never having been kidnapped by Crowley, was supposed to have been one of the very last Prophets. Having said that, how could he have become a Prophet if Chuck was still alive? Therefore, Chuck is either something else other than a Prophet, or he's God.
This ending touched me in so many ways. The boys have gone through so much, they fight so hard to gain the upper hand on evil. But they slip and fall season 9 we saw Sam trying to quit but at the end saw him grasp onto his brother. We see Dean giving up and wanting to give into evil, as Cass says not feeling is easier. This episode was needed for both the brothers and the fans. Before this episode they were so battle weary. Side note I want Chuck to portray God. He is writing the boys' story like how he writes all our stories. Life is hard and messy, but God won't give you more than you can handle. So I love to think this episode was orchestrated by Chuck to show the boys that they are heros. They are fighting the good fight, and he sees his boys like through the eyes of their mom, John, Bobby, and their brother, he sees them fighting the good fight, running the ultimate race. They need to Carry On, there will be peace when you are done. Chuck/God gave them the push they needed. So beautiful...
hi..who was the guy at the end that said "not bad". i know he has been there before but i cant remember if he is a trickster or gabriel or can someone tell me..thnx
Danika Talos Also if you remember, there can only be one prophet at a time, and Kevin was the prophet so the boys assumed that Chuck was dead because they didn't know any better.
one of the most precious and beautiful scenes on the show, the cover of 'carry on my wayward son', the looks on the brothers' faces and how heartfelt, emotional and profound they were, dean hanging the samulet in the car and how he and sam looked at each other, the way they said 'I love you' in their own way as the sun goes down and their wonderful impala runs towards the horizon... what a true MASTERPIECE.
Carry on my wayward son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more Once I rose above the noise and confusion Just to get a glimpse beyond the illusion I was soaring ever higher, but I flew too high Masquerading as a man with a reason My charade is the event of the season And if I claim to be a wise man, it surely means that I don't know Carry on my wayward son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more Carry on
Chuck is God. Plain and goddamn simple (pun intended) He wrote/dictated the entire supernatural universe up to season 5 when they defeated Lucifer, then he dissapeared. Just like a God that wanted to watch over his sons endless struggle would do.
they just brought him back because we love chuck, don't expect this episode to be truly important to the arc, they also mention Adam but they are not going to do something about that. It was sort of a lincence they took to just give us what we love, it's better that way :)
I'm kindof glad, Chuck was a great plotline and so was Adam... i guess (not a huge fan of Adam tbh) but i am happy that they got a mention in this episode however i don't need a repeat of the whole Michael Lucifer thing
Jon A Nothing confirmed, sounds like a plot that would take a whole season if Chuck was God but, as much as I love Chuck, I think that it's better left alone.
Jon A God as an entity is dead; But yes... Chuck is "God" at least in a semi-mortal form but I doubt he ever wants to take up the divine role again only helping humans along with slight nudges to push them in the correct direction.
Tania R LOL, all i'm saying is we've seen Dean turned old we've seen him turned young. How funny would it be to see a character like Dean, who's a womanizer, become a woman. I, in noway, support transgender except for comedic purposes.
***** One that would be more comedic is "micro Dean", maybe an encounter with Sprites or Fairies results in him being "downsized" and he needs to find a way to help get him back to normal.
nope it was pretty complicated and messed up that time i mean dean was like a psychopath and god i can't explain it im cryin well it was just the right timing for them to make up and gain hope
I have always loved this song even before supernatural became a thing. This version though is beautiful and I always find myself listening to this song whenever I had a bad day and feel like quoting and giving up. Thank you supernatural ❤
This episode started as a crazy fan fiction mess then turned into Both a sweet homage to the story as a whole and a welcome back to Sam and Dean as they get back on the road. Also stands to point that people still worry about the third Winchester brother.
i just saw this for the first time when catching up having quit watching around season 7...i love how they managed to pull it off as equally goofy-funny, self-conscious and heartfelt at the same time, topping it off with this song (i already harbor a secret passion for Glee early seasons since it got me thorough some tough times when i needed a distraction). Amazingly talented people shows how they can pull off a real moment with so little while current hack shows struggle so much to fabricate it artificially....i'm just glad i have so much more of supernatural to look forward to, can't imagine the sadness of you who are already at the end.
Five years later, the series finale had this fantastic song playing on the car radio in Heaven. The way these young ladies sing the rendition, it has that heavenly feel to it. Magically how this episode dove tailed in how the series finally ended. Well done!
this scene was probably my favorite in the whole show. i was sobbing the second they started singing and then i was laughing hysterically at the adam thing omg
this episode made me cry with all the guys have been through so far and that they haven't given up. they keep going, keep finding a way with choice, love, free will, and fredom. even when things seem their darkest they get through it some how together all in service for others.
Rewatching the show from the beginning....again.....and even after the 1000x I've watched this, my favorite of the series, I still am snot faced, blinded by tears, and praying my hubby doesn't wake up and laugh at me 😭😭😭 By far the best cover of "Carry On" out there, way to go 'lil sisters!!
this was automatically one of my favorite episodes because of how beautiful this version of wayward son is its just perfect 11/10 tears running down my face
