As part of the Surf Simply Fitness series this is the first episode from our Stretch Coach Andre on Mobility and Stretching.
These seven warm up exercises are Andre’s favorite to do before surfing. Dynamic mobility exercises will help in warming up muscles to be ready to surf. This full body routine aims to target arms, core, quads, as well as shoulder, hip and spinal mobility.
Routine:
Do each move anywhere between 3-10x each moving consistently through them and taking full breaths...
- Arm rotations (forward - backward sideways)
- Standing hip circles
- Lunge with rotation
- Sideways lunge with windmill arms
- Standing pigeon
- Spiderman
- Back roll up to standing
