We do this a lot in my house, but I didn't know there was a special kind of vinegar for sushi! We just used rice vinegar without sugar or salt. I will try it this weekend, thank you a lot!

Hi, currently I'm Japan to study, and cooking pearl rice is quite a tough task for me. The vinegar that you bought in the market, is it normal vinegar ? お酢?
Would this work the same with brown rice? I've gotten an asian brand brown rice and did this but the rice wouldn't stick when I made california rolls. I probably did do something wrong, but just curious to know.
Why is she not using Mirin?!! I've watched 10 videos already and NO ONE is using Mirin. Can someone please explain this to me. Im getting highly frustrated.
From what I've been told: Mirin is rice wine (sake) so it's typically not used for sushi rice because it is naturally much higher in sugar content (mirin is used in other Japanese cooking recipes such as sukiyaki). The rice vinegar + sugar & salt is what's normally used to make sushi rice for just a touch of sweet.
Her name is "Olga Salas" that doesn't give you some clue, guys? I am from Latin America and this is clearly a latinoamerican name, we speak spanish so it's normal if we cannot understand some acents in english. Don't be so rude.
