Heading into my 3rd year of ownership, this is a review of my Suzuki GSX-S 1000 GT after riding and touring with it after 2 years.
The footage was captured on Saturday 1st June 2024 riding along back roads through the Peak District, taking in sights near Wincle, Meerbrook, Tittesworth reservoir and Blackshaw Moor.
Sadly some of the video footage was ruined by audio issues, so I’ve made do with the footage I have.
Filmed with GoPro Hero 10 using a Røde Lavalier Go microphone.

I concur about the tires, I went through 2 sets in less than 10K miles. The stock tires are less expensive, but I ended up upgrading to the Dunlop Roadsmart 4, should get the same mileage as 2 sets of the Roadsport 2. As a taller rider, I opted for the OEM touring screen. As for the blipper, I found that as long as you have the revs in range of what the ECM thinks is optimal it does well, don't try blipping at lower rpm.

I’m sure you’ll get good mileage from those Roadsmart 4’s as they’re a fairly decent tyre. Hopefully Suzuki add a screen adjuster to the next iteration of this bike. Thanks for the tip regarding keeping the rpm high when using the quick shifter, I’ll be sure try it next time.

Thanks for the tip and in hindsight I should have changed brake pads shortly after I took ownership. I’m into my third year of ownership and I’ll be chopping the bike in soon, so probably too late to change pads before it goes back. Not sure what bike I’ll get next but keen to try the Suzuki GX

Great report Paul. Why dont u have a go at the volvo repairs yourself? Keep yer costs down, and learn something along the way. The jobs you mentioned are just dismantle and replace 👍

Thanks for watching 👍 The report is shorter than I had hoped because GoPro decided not to record the audio of two later segments, so I had to stretch the review using the footage I had. As for Volvo repairs, it turned out to be the strut top mounts but the mechanic had to use gas bottles to cut off the bolts to get them off. I used to do work on my cars years ago, but have become lazy in my old age. I should really get back to doing my own maintenance and repairs and save myself a small fortune.
