8:50 That is the moment when Jürgen Grabowski also became a legend in the national team. Now he passed away on March 11, 2022. One of the greatest in German football. Deep bow and sadness, but highest veneration and unforgotten. He rest in peace.
@@Domino13334 I am very sad about the passing of the great Grabowski. He changed the 1970 Quarter Final game against England by tormenting England left back Terry Cooper after coming in for Libuda in the second half. Also he along with that magician Libuda in the same World Cup 1970 were magnificent against Italy in the Semi Final with both playing at the same time.
one of the most fantastic football match of the incredible mannschaft team with such legendary players like Bonhof Overath Beckenbauer Muller Grabowski Hoeness and the amazing goalkeeper Sepp Maier . just mythic game in the road to the 2nd world cup 1974 title for Germany 🇩🇪 .
Beckenbauer has said that this was the best performance by his side at this World Cup. He also has said that the greatest World Cup he played in was not 1974 when they won it, but 1970, which he said was magical.
62,000 in the rhinestadion, driving rain, Muller, Bonhoff, and Edstrom at their peak. By far the best game of Germany '74, ironic that in 2006 there were no games in Dusseldorf.
@@alexandredecaoutchouc2217 In 2006, the organisers spread the venues as far as possible across the country. In contrast to 1974, when Berlin had only one group match for political reasons, in 2006 it had to be firmly integrated just like East Germany (Leipzig). Düsseldorf is a place with a poor football tradition and was therefore unable to assert itself against the cities in the immediate vicinity (Cologne, Gelsenkirchen, Dortmund). For Euro 2024, a different approach was taken: each city could apply and an independent consulting firm determined a ranking. The best 10 were selected and are host cities for Euro 2024.
@@ruhri0411 Düsseldorf was one of the most qualified venues but was ruled out because of Fortuna only playing in the 2. Bundesliga. If receiving matches, the coity would have also hosted also the nationwide press center. By the way Fortuna is a former german champion, two time cup winner and a european cup winners cup finalist. The 1979 final was played against FC Barcelona and only lost 4-3 after overtime. Not so bad, after all!
@@alexandredecaoutchouc2217 I had NOTHING to do with Fortuna playing in the 2. Bundesliga! NOTHING! Leipzig even hadn‘t a professional football club back then and Hannover 96 was in the 2. Bundesliga too. Düsseldorf was not a venue because Cologne, Gelsenkirchen and Dortmund are in the same federal state. And the clubs from these cities have a much bigger lobby at the German FA. Düsseldorf had practically no influence there at the time.
Kein Witz.
For a small nation Sweden have a great record at World Cups. Apart from 1990 when even Scotland beat them they have always put in a decent performance. They also have a great kit in this World Cup.
Sweden were excellent in 1974. They just missed out on the 3rd/4th place play-off but for me, on quality of football, they were among the top four sides in West Germany
El Indio, it was pissing it down with rain in the Rheinstadion at Dusseldorf and even the Action Replays don't lie as there was a monsoon like thunderstorm that night.
It is Swedish. The man was Bengt Grive. Edit: btw, His commentary om the Edström is a classic in Sweden: -Edström volley... -Oh what a shot! -What a party shot! -Just like against Uruguay! -Same position, same height, same lefty, same speed I think! -And what time is it!?
good football and no acting. the best football team germany has ever had with their best mid fielder to date: wolfgang overath. the disgusting thing is that the acting in football was started by a german player klinsman, in the final against argentina in italy, and it was a referee from mejico if I remember well who gave the most disgusting penalty after klinsman faked a foul and the bastard flipped and tumbled longer than a gymnast, the referee many years later said: it was not a penalty.
