A test of my new LED L-Series horn strobe, the newest horn strobe model currently being made. It was introduced into the market on October 15th of 2023, if I'm not mistaken.
I think my biggest beef with LED strobes is that the flashes feel too slow most of the time. It’s ok here, but some models just make it feel more like turning on and off a flashlight, and not a strobe. Also yea, modernphobia annoys the hell out of me. Glad there’s a term for it
@@Jimmy06blue In a way I'm guilty of it. I love AC powered alarms. I think it has to do with me not making the most of the Edwards 375 Adaptahorns I had before moving schools in Elementary school, but AC horns in general are my favorite, likewise with the mechanical horns. I like some modern fire alarms, don't get me wrong, but I just prefer the old alarms in my opinion. I understand the need to upgrade, though because of new codes. I'm currently talking with someone who asking him if I could be able to get a hold of those alarms, and he said that they were still running as of today until the building gets torn down, and I can check back when they are ready to tear down the elementary schools.
@@ZakWolf And this is also a bit more low profile than the Advances due to lower current draw and it has an FCP setting similar to Simplex TrueAlerts/TrueAlert ESs which allows you to select the candela output from the fire alarm control panel.
It is ADA compliant because people have told us that it flashes like a xenon strobe just like this guy from this video did: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JHVBXOYKmwU.html but I think it's just the camera that makes it flash different due to the different strobe coverage area or that it flashes like an Wheelock LED3 Exceeder strobe
I still prefer the Xenon ones but Im getting used to the LED Horn Strobes and LED Remote strobes. The wall mount LEd speaker strobes are the ugliest fire alarms ever made
