So thankful for your "Beginner" teachings. I'm disabled with a broken spine, but not chair bound due to wonders of modern, physical, surgical science. Now I'm working on balance, strength & reducing bad nerve pain. I believe exercises and discipline such as this will help me much more, than pills & toxins. Now I just need to practice, practice, practice. Thank you again. ❤
This is just superb, been searching for "learning powerful methods to build your Chi energy" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Fellmeroni Rudimentary Chi - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my buddy got excellent results with it.
Hi. Check out QiGong instructor Jeffrey Chand - ThinkVitality on RU-vid. Also look into Dr. Lam's Tai Chi for Health series DVD's. He has a couple of seated Tai Chi programs also. There may be someone in your area teaching his Tai Chi for Arthritis course and its well worth looking into, because the forms are modified and much easier to perform and still benefit.
Exact same story here, Mandie. This kind of injury ruins your life, your dreams and leaves you isolated & unhappy. I've been going through the excruciatingly-long process of weaning off a variety of drugs I was taking for years for the pain. All they did was help for a while, until I needed them just to maintain homeostasis, until they systematically destroyed so many aspects of my health. Qigong & Yoga have been a huge help for teaching my brain & body to control it's own nervous system again - now I'm moving forward to Tai Chi. The most important thing we can do is keep our bodies moving, stretching, breathing, circulating and aligned with the movement of the mind. Thank you for sharing this and reminding me that I'm not alone.
@@beesilva9085Get into meditation, tai Chi is good for understanding your body on a deeper level, but meditation is useful for the mind. If you get proficient enough in meditation you realize everything is meditation.
Same here. Six days clean off like four mg klonopin daily with the occasional Xanax but I was not prescribed I was self medicating. Can I ask how you got off Xanax?
I am here because I have osteoarthritis all through my back and was told that doing tai chi can help me from being in pain every single day. I hope it works.
@@DestinyPifer No worries! get back to me if you see any differences I would love to hear your experience with it since i am also dealing with some pain.
Thank you for posting this... I'm new to Tai Chi, and I enjoyed this greatly... I'm 42, and have run six a miles a day since age 16, and performed H.I.I.T., Cardio, Aerobics and Tabata, but as I get older I'm looking to add less intense, and more meditative, teachings and practices to my routine... I'm hoping that Tai Chi will become an extensive part of that routine, and a constant in my life!
I had a stroke 2 yrs ago, they called me the miracle because I had a major stroke and had so much brain damage that the doctors told my family that when i wake up I might not walk talk or speak again but i do and tai chi helped me as my left side works only about 50 percent
Mr. Chen. I have just started this video and I can already say I feel you are a true teacher. So clear and precise and slow (patient) for newbies! I think I will be able to learn this much easier than any other video or class even. Your calmness in delivery makes me feel calm, which offsets my natural impatience. Thank you!
I've been practicing QiGong for the past year and it's really helped improve my overall health, but I've always wanted to learn Tai Chi, and hope that my familiarity with QiGong will help to make learning Tai Chi a bit easier.
If you use this in real fight yourw going to get beaten up. Your hands are so far away from your head and body you can't get power to the punches, at he same time you can't block punches because your hands are too far away from your face. Try instead mma, boxing, frestling, but not this beacause this is bullshit.
I was a competitive fighter in sanshou years ago, and of course I did wushu as well, but haven’t done martial arts in many years. Since then, I was hit by a car, became disabled, and then fat and weak. So I thought, I need to do Tai Chi. Of course there are far more bad teachers than good, so I was looking for traditional training, the way I learned Chinese martial arts in the beginning. Within the first minute, I knew you were the right teacher. This is proper martial arts. I always think about keeping my head level in any martial arts. If I’m bobbing up and down, I’m doing it wrong.
You don't need a pandemic to understanding the life giving properties of breathing and balancing as a way to improve our lives. Such is Tai Chi now and forever!
Just started this after.lots of painkillers/alcohol/back surgery/knee... arthritis gone!!! 42 and never tried before...only weights/cardio some..really cool! Spiritual Warrior!!😁
You are a really great teacher!! Thank you soon much for this video 🙂 My doctor wanted me to start doing Tai Chi because I was just diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. So I am starting to change my diet, more walking and starting Tai Chi. Of course drinking more water too.
This video was way more helpful than that woman, walking down a dirt path, telling me that form doesn't matter, and you just needed to be guided by your inner feelings. Liked, and subscribed!
In all seriousness, your outfit looks so comfortable. I'm buying one to make my practice more serious and I have an excuse to wear something so luxurious. Sure I'm in my garage. But I am a silk goddess of grace. Not really I'm clumsy and fell over transitioning steps.
@@tworealms3824 Incase you haven't noticed, this isn't exactly a trend of the white culture. Even the ones that eat healthy and exercise aren't exactly doing this as well. Being big means we tend to have issues with our joints and range of motion when we get older.
Thank you for sharing this video with the world. This video was the REAL beginning of my life long journey as a Tai Chi Practicioner. I am forever grateful. Namaste
Thank you so much for these videos! You have given me hope for recovery. Like so many others, I need strength training as well as nerve pain relief. I believe the right kind of exercise is essential!
I have been doing a stretch similar to this naturally without instruction in order to try to heal a painful foot injury. I will try this way now Thank you
Very thankful for this video. It helped me realise movement. With tai chi I acquired the flow of my body and it opened up many different forms of martial arts for me. Tai chi is an incredible thing!
This my first exposure to Tai Chi and also martial arts entirely, thank you for your lessons! 🙏 Going to use this stuff to try and combat potential balance issues from a concerning family history.
I ruptured two discs 3 years ago and thanks to surgery and therapy im going to be okay but imbalances and small things cause si much pain. Looking forward to the series
I am the guy that wrote about a Boston Chinatown in the Academy for Chinese martial arts; I remembered that you requested I tell you what country I’m from well I’m from do USA Manhattan and Boston my name is Peter Corcoran I live on public assistance have a spine issue which has made it impossible for me to work for tai chi makes sense right now I wish I could go join all the old ladies in the park doing their tai chi moves, but they don’t do that here could be winter I don’t know.. hey, thank you brother!
Doctor Chen just popped up in my suggestions again. A great instructor making great videos. As your senior 😅, I'd like to advise beginners at home to do some basic stretches first. And we're all at different stages of flexibility so don't twist your feet out too much to the point where your balance is off. Don't gyrate the knees or the hips - lead with the waist - and you'll be fine.
Maaan I am practicing this move for a weeks now! But I think that I am getting hold of this. Just grab electrical cord without any protection. You'll get feeling how to do the move!
Thankyou sir very much for your bacis thanks for help all of Tai chi lovers your instructions are very useful we will remember thes instructions thankyou sir
Good man 😊, these things are good to see in times bad, additionally I support feeling this light, try to posses and Express to others, many people want power but there is equality in it as well.
AWESOME VIDEO. I've been dying to do martial arts, but have a long term injury that has stopped me. This will strengthen me for when I can start Muay Tai
Thank you for teaching, I am following your videos because I want to learn and do Tai chi at home by myself. It makes me feel my body better, be balanced and feel peace.
I'm a totally new beginner. I already practice yoga, but I've always been drawn to the serene fluid movements of Tai Chi. I was also born (78 years ago) with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome/Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder, resulting in weak joints and connective tissues, among other things. I need help with building strength (while not able to do most types of exercise without dislocating something!), and better balance. Any sudden or vigorous movement can not only cause joint dislocation, but also loss of balance resulting in falls. At my age, I can't afford more broken bones!
You may not realize how true your statement is. So far, I have spent a year studying the Sun 73 form and have learned the basic forms and movements of the form. From here , I'll be able to spend the rest of my life studying and perfecting this form. A good instructor can be an invaluable help in your practice. You might also look into Dr. Lam.s Tai Chi for Arthritis dvds. Enjoy the journey.
