The triple crown is now on a point system….has been for many years. One of the things I don’t like about the point system is that it shuts out the sprinters and late bloomers. I love seeing a great sprinter run in the derby. It can change the entire outcome of the race for those who try to go with them out of the gate. Two great speed horses ruined the chances of Bellamy Road over a decade ago. He went with them and had nothing left for the finish. If those two speedballs had not been in that race…Bellamy Road probably would have won that year.
The number one spot will make life difficult for Mo Donegal I feel sorry for Irad as he will be asked to do a surmountable task to get thru traffic in this way it gives Mo Donegal a harder chance of defeating Zandon again but the likes of Taiba Epicenter Messier and Zandon will be the main principles inside the final furlong with the winner eventually going to Taiba

They all say his horses are "different" -- don't get tired when other horses normally would. He's had multiple substance/drug violations. Ran a lot of great horses into the ground to build a name for himself.

I'll say it - The Kentucky Derby is a bit of a joke. You clog the field because some millionaire with no chance wants to impress people because he has a horse in the race. Solution - Let's cap the Derby field at about 12. Of course that will never happen. The reason - MONEY. The answer to 99 out of 100 questions.
I respect Taiba but I’ll pass. If he wins, shame on me. I’ll use him underneath but I simply can’t use him on top with 2 starts in very short fields, and turns out Forbidden Kingdom has a throat issue in that race. So there’s no telling if Taiba would’ve won with every horse running at their peak. Also….. it’s to Taiba benefit to have him cranked up for the SA Derby as that was only his 2nd start so he can still improve. Messier ( same trainer ) I can’t imagine was fully cranked so that he can have something left for the Derby. So to me it’s 2 quality horses going into the Derby but one is more seasoned and so I’ll try take Messier.

@@kg-xt4hg well as far as I can see he did not stay in his proper right lead coming up the stretch...he switched back to his Left lead... there was a problem when he switched to his right lead at the head of the Stretch that was not a smooth transition so something may be wrong in the right front or he may have screwed his balls up behind switching leads being not very experienced and you know they spent a lot of money for that horse so I'm sure they didn't push him too fast he's a pretty large horse for what's underneath him....

Taiba is obviously a runner, but he won't win in Kentucky. He has no foundation, his trainer knows he's short. He will bounce off the Santa Anita win. Trainers know this, owners do not.
The Canadian horse that won the Kentucky Derby was short. I think he actually won the Triple Crown. (can't remember his name). Has nothing to do with it. Build is everything.
@@loverofcalifornia3619 Northern dancer was the first horse to get Lasix Dr. Hardhill gave it to him and the reason he was short was probably he was a twin, both his mother and his father were twins which have larger hearts and larger lung sizes but veterinarians pinch one of them off because a mare really can't carry or take care of two foals...milk....& he lost the Belmont
