It feels like you just took a fresh batch of cookies out of the oven. It's perfect, and you couldn't do any better with it. However that's probably how the band felt but also kinda how I feel if that makes sense
2:32 Is incredible because the "Mr Moon voice" goes out and you can hear Joe I see it like whoever the kid is asking what the sky is, is changing his voice so the kid sees it as the moon But he's not the moon, he's someone whos trying to explain the kid what life is and giving them a much more innocent and pretty perspective
The 2008 seems to be a bit more polished than this one. They re-recorded the drums for the 2008 version. This version has some delay effect on the vocals in the beginning while the 2008 version does not. Rob’s and Zubin’s harmony vocals are a bit louder than the 2008 version as well. Mr. Moon’s doubles tracked vocals are panned both on the left and right each. Just some differences I’ve noticed.
I love you Joe Hawley, you didnt just gave me the beautiful Hawaii Part II album but also this equally beautiful song. May the universe bless your soul ❤️
I hope tally hall makes a deluxe version of Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum with the 2005 and 2008 versions of the album. I'd buy that on the spot.
@@Pokedude1110 marvins was not rereleased, it was only repressed on vinyl and other physical media. + what single? just a friend? (which was recorded in 2009 iirc)
One time, I tried to sing About spring and a storm But you know How it goes Blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah Blah All along Won't you please stop complaining I'm playing a song But all the rain comes down the same Falling to from where it came On the ground then back around Up in the sky I wish you could have heard the music When the clouds growled overhead I finally felt enthusiastic I finally felt alive Blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah Blah So you said Would it please you to listen To thunder instead Man the rain came down that day And it drained my soul away And I wondered why I even Bothered to try Mr. Moon (yeah?) Tell us about the sky The sky is deep and dark and eternally high Many people think that's where you go when you die Do you? Well, I think you return to obscure Or wherever you were Before you were But I won't let you lose yourself In the rain We have so much left to sing There's a storm for every spring All you see and you and me Became from a star You're a star You're a star You're a star You're a star You're a star Yes, you are Silent explosive and Silent explosive and Silent explosive and Silent explosive and Create until nothing is left to create and The universe bursts with an overworked sigh then Pretend to pretend to re-crown the creation and Sing the same thing 'til the clouds start to cry and then Over and over and over again and then Over and over and Never again
I always thought of both versions of this song of a nursery rhyme. Sung to kids. Maybe a teacher getting too carried away singing about nature and it's qualities.
I've been playing the two side by side for a few minutes now trying to find out if they're the same. I don't think they are? Drums sound different, vocals sound layered differently.
Ok, found something. Compare the 2:40 part, the "Well I think you return to obscure" bit, on this to the album/Amazon version. The left channel is completely low and the right channel is completely high on this one, but they're panned less and blended a bit on Amazon. Also, listening to just the left channel/bass voice alone is an EXPERIENCE.
Song actually makes me think of a bitter-sweet relationship. I never realized how happy i made her and i never forgot how much i let her down too. I have too much empathy for my logic.
I have a feeling this song is about two people the narrator and another guy. The narrator tries to make the other guy listen but fails the first time, then has to tell the other guy buy yelling or being aggressive. With him repeating blablablablablablabla. Like the other person is mocking the narrator, then telling the other guy to stop complaining about him talking. Then resorting to aggressively telling him to listen. "Would it please you to listen, to thunder instead." Basically meaning the other guy would listen if he said it by screaming or having an aggressive tone. It's sad how true this is and how it applies to situations IRL like consent and stuff
@@Sharquandas lmao this PanzerDragon dude is a really racist confederate that my friend met in a discord server a month or two ago. i just thought it was really funny that i ran into him on the comments of a random tally hall video sdjkghs
