Tama is just years and years beyond every other company with innovation to hardware on their kits and hardware like stands thrones pedals accessories. You can’t beat tama with their futuristic thinking and designs. They are always constantly improving and making drummers lives easier
I am Yamaha guy but I'm totally addicted to Speed Cobra products! The only one downside (for me) to the hi-hat stand is the weight. I wish it could be a little bit lighter because it's heavy as tank.
I have seen many complains about the stability of the stand when it's tilted, I think you guys can solve it adding some kind of object like a metal or stone piece to create counterweight and that helps stabilize where the stick hits that move the stand itself [because is tilted] by opposite force //// I think 4-5kg would work, if you concentrate the mass in a small object it would be optimal
Any thoughts on how this compares in feel to the Iron Cobra version (still Lever Glide)? I know it's identical except for the longer footboard, so orobably pretty minimal difference, but not sure which one to get!
Hi Tama! Can you explain (or anybody that owns this new stand) how it works the third leg under the footboard? On the previous model this leg used to be adjusted with two screws that allowed to expand it or not, but now it seems to have only the extended position. Thanks and greetings from Argentina!
Hola. Tengo uno de esos y quizás te pueda ayudar. En realidad no tienes que echarle mucha cuenta a esa tercera "pata" (aunque yo no la llamaría pata, propiamente dicha). No hace falta ajustar nada; cuando montas el soporte en la posición más habitual, con la barra perpendicular al suelo, simplemente aumenta un poco el apoyo en la base, añadiendo más estabilidad. Al ser un soporte de 2 patas, el 3er punto de apoyo es la misma base (donde está el mecanismo y el pedal). Al tener algo más de superficie de apoyo, y más rígida, puesto que la parte del pedal no lo es tanto, pues mejora un poco. Pero cuando más se nota es si montas el soporte con cierta inclinación. En ese caso la base se levanta del suelo y el peso se apoya sobre este estabilizador (también un poco sobre el propio pedal, que es la parte menos sólida de cualquier soporte de hi hat). De todas formas, aunque no le veo la necesidad, sí que se puede alargar un poco si quieres, sigue teniendo los dos tornillos, solo que si lo alargas, sólo estará sujeto por uno de ellos, y supongo que será menos estable. También puedes desmontarlo si no te gusta. En ese caso, si usas la barra totalmente vertical no creo que haya problema, pero si la usas inclinada no te lo recomiendo. Yo lo uso de las dos maneras, vertical cuando lo monto en la batería acústica, e inclinado cuando lo monto en la electrónica: al ser el pad de hi hat más pequeño (12"), si lo monto vertical, o bien se me queda muy lejos, o bien tengo que modificar la posición del pedal doble para acercarlo más, así que al inclinarlo puedo acercarlo por arriba sin moverlo por abajo. Te garantizo que en ambas posiciones es absolutamente estable y muy, muy sólido, aparte del hecho de que su funcionamiento es magnífico. El único detalle que no me gusta es la pieza de plástico rojo de la parte superior del "clutch", la que sujeta el plato superior, pero se pude cambar por un fieltro normal, y listo. Espero que te sirva de algo.

La verdad es excelente, tiene muchas mejoras sustanciales respecto a la version previa y la plantilla extendida era algo que necesitaba, tengo pie bastante grande. Anybody find expensive hi hat stands excessive? I have the speed cobra 310 hi hat stand and it’s a hi hat stand. That’s all it needs to be in my opinion
hahahahah could be nothing, it's just because of its construction... I've seen tons of videos of people with all tama pedals and the hi-hat wobbles. They should've at least done a 3 leg version for the speed cobra for all the stompers... At least with the Iron Cobra you can get a 200 or 600 stand and it still matches with the 900 pedals, but there's nothing for dyna-sync and speed cobra. The flexibility of their hardware sometimes comes at the cost of stability. These and the electronic pad stand are 2 perfect examples of it. I've also seen some poor stability on the RoadPro cymbal and snare stands (because of the narrow tubing, I guess...)
I bought one, played every day and after like 2 weeks the "strong Kevlar® strap" was totally ripped so I couldn't even step on it. Now I dont know if I should buy a new one or go for Iron C…
So I bought this one for the second time and after just two days the same problem. That strap which is connecting the footboard to the lever glide is ripped again. Really disapointing because this is a great stand...when it works.
@@vlkdan That's the good thing about the hardware from Tama, their adjustability ever since they started the Iron Cobra pedal! I might need to find another better strap just in case since I'm pretty much constantly hitting the hi-hat pedal.
