You touched on a point I had hit as well, the older 1+1 or 1+2 weren't that great. 2023 brought a few which almost reset the bar on what you can do with a 1+2 under $100. I think more people talk about Phoenixcall than Fudu but I am with you on Fudu and its 4k peak.
Truly my favorite set I've tried under 100 this year, couldn't agree more about the staging really impressed me. I'll be very interested if you can figure out any mods to make them even better
The BA is in the nozzle…that could be causing the problem You hear @ 4k..I know that because the first set I got the metal part of the nozzle came off on my first set and I had to exchange them.
i have the R1, they are okay pretty resolute, but nothing that stands out, warm set bass boost, vocals are a bit recessed and theres a certain inconsistency in the mids the way instruments sound, fairly good and inoffesive for long sessions. Im waiting for the Fudu now.
@@SileDevil don't agree. I think it's an actual standout at its price. it's closer to that warmer, bassier tonality, yes. Treble has some roll off. But the bass is excellent. I think it's balanced well with upper mids, that are also pretty good. Again treble nothing special but ok. It's got a 3d and holographic nature to the sound that is not easy to find. Drivers are very well integrated and the sound is coherent. Very good tone and timbre, sounds pretty natural. Soundstage, imaging ,air is all there is good quantity (and quality of course). Detail retrieval an resolution also good for the price but maybe becuase it's all dd, everything sounds natural, not analytical at all. Really like it. Build quality and accessories also pretty good. Unless you don't like the sound profile, i'd say this is a no brainer.
Damn. Guess my fix is returning it. Oh well, saves me $$$. Modded $10 DQ6s sounds pretty close, maybe even better. Still tinkering. 4k pks don't always bother me but this one does at high vokune. Waner has something shouty that I don't see on graph. Tinkering with it too. I have the green one which I really like the look so I decided to see it I can find that magic everyone hears. I have sets with similar or more energy in mids, which don't sound shouty at all. Wyvern is one.
