Very happy with my S12 since earlier this year. Recently, the Hexa arrived. Also, VG. Gonna close the wallet now, after having purchased about 20 IEM's over the last 2 years. I have come to the realization that I only have 2 ears. I think I am better served spending funds collecting vintage gear. Just landed a second Hitachi SR903 for $115...I did a cleaning and the damn thing is looking mint. Fully works save for one lamp (incandescent bulb replacement on the way). Both units black-wooden cases are now vinyl wrapped in glossy burled walnut and look fantastic. Each puts out 75Watts per channel and can peak up to 160Watts per channel with their G-class amps. Fantastic.

I have the OG Zetian Wu and I decided on a whim to order a set of the Zetian Wu Heydays, I honestly thought I would be sending this set back. I have had about 24hrs playing time on them, and I knew immediately I was keeping the Heyday. The only set of IEMs I like better is my S12s with the Eru mod by Micheal Bruce. Your review is spot on as always Tony. Thank you 🙏 again for the fantastic recommendation.

Can you help me out in choosing an iem around $200 that is neutral/balanced in tuning? Mainly for mixing/mastering and general music enjoyment I've been eyeing on the Heydays and have seen mostly good reviews on them but is skeptical still because its using a planar driver. Basically worried about the planar timbre I've also looked at the Letshouer Galileo and the AFUL Performer 5 but I'm just getting confused with all of the options overall What would you recommend?

I’m sure I can pick other planar IEMs that play particular genres and songs better than the Heyday. But no EQ playing all genres. I agree, if someone wants to own one planar, it’s the Heyday

Mine just arrived yesterday, still waiting for the Quintet to compare. ABing several seconds between other planars it sounds lacking in details, I think due to the others having peaks in the midrange and treble. Listening for long periods however, it’s clear the details are all there just not pushed forward ahead of the rest of the music. Love this set and surprised that the bass cut wasn’t as significant as the graphs indicates.

Do they have the DD emotion? the problem with planars i've tried, like the S12 and the PR1 Pro (even though the pro does a better job, with the spring tips making a huge difference and even better than that...surprisingly is the stock clear kz tips that come with its cheaper DDs), is they can seem a bit sterile. They're fantastic if you want to listen for detail and there's plenty enough iem like that for people who want to listen to music like an engineer but for those that want to be empassioned and feel the music, most planars haven't seem to hit the spot and that depth of warmth and emersion like a DD. Ive not found anything better for giving music soul through the tuning than a pair of edx ultras with spring tips and looking for an upgrade. Does this do a better job when it comes to bringing out emotion and if not do you have any recommendations, Akros? Thank you!

This sounds like the difference between the Yume Midnight and the Yume ll, Yume ll I like better because it’s more natural sounding. I hope the same is for the Wu s.

The graph on this is nearly identical to the Timeless OG according to HBB's rig. Same or nearly identical driver from the same manufacturer, tuned pretty much identical. So is the new reference actually the old reference?

No, the original Wu used the same driver as the Timeless/S12/HOOK They claim this is a new and improved driver, like a gen 2 or something...

hey akros i've been revisiting the OG zetian wu comparisons to get an idea of your potential opinion comparing the timeless and heyday, and i appreciate your response on comparing the aful performer 5 to the heyday (former more space, but differences ultimately minimal) -- was just wondering how you feel the timeless fits in, in terms of value proposition, with it being 70 usd less (130usd vs heyday's 210usd and ap5's 220usd) - and maybe how the raptgo hook x fits in to the picture at 171usd -- thank you for your contribution to the community + informing my decision with your experience

Apologies for late reply. Well by parts ....original Timeless has great resolution and that is perhaps the only thing it does slightly better than Heyday AFUL is about the nicest bass you can get at under 300....it's got a lush feel.....oozes quality and hi fidelity to my ears. I think Hey is the go to Planar right now, OG Wu at the low price now available makes alot of sense. KZ PR1 Pro and P1 Max are unreal Performers and can be had very cheaply. Aful if you dont mind loosing a little detail and resolution offers crazy good timbre tonality and sense of organic sound.

That being said I haven't gone planar yet so I will continue to consider hey and potentially the kz / p1max given their value proposition. @@aagm. Mega 5P is an awesome set....before Performer 5 was around it was the best hybrid at around 200usd. Did you use my code for buying it? You get an extra discount! Anyway you have done good .....next you have to get a planar.....PR1 Pro or P1Max

Can you compare tinhifi P1 Max vs heyday. Which would you prefer if the money is no objective. And does P1 Max EQ well?

I will be totally sincere.....I like the P1Max more .......it's got something about it's neutrality that's very satisfying. It takes well to EQ although I don't think it needs it.....just needs power . Heyday is a more safe sound to like because it's got a Harman vibe. But both are excellent.....I would go as far to say get both.... P1Max is 99on Linsoul and Heyday pretty soon will.come down.

I agree with Akros. P1 Max is my preference. Heyday is very good in the mids but it's got too much gain and is my most sibilant and fatiguing planar. But there's no doubt Heyday mids shine a lot. I don't plan on keeping it. To get the same presentation in the mids with P1 Max all you have to do is turn up the volume and it's still not sibilant with more sparkle. The added mid and upper bass also helps balance the planar resolution. Tinhifi nailed the tuning. I also prefer my S12 Pro. It's just more fun and not fatiguing. That one is also quite enveloping and holographic with the added bass and sparkle. It doesn't hurt they are both a lot less $. P1 Max is only $99 and trades blows or outperforms Heyday.

@@srinivasand5960 I rarely eq so I'm probably not the best person to ask. I did Play with eq and P1 Max today and it sounded good to me. Adding a little sub bass did bring the sound more in line with S12 Pro. I really don't think it needs eq tho. Hope this helps.

Both very good.... Wuzetian edges out the P5 on 3D soundstage.....P5 edges the Wuzetian on organic tonality......honestly they are both very good sets ....both very capable sonically.
