As an ex-Christian/ex-fundie, do you know how much it literally *pains* my enby heart that JKR ended up being horrible? The way the Harry Potter books and movies were the literal *symbol* of rebellion against oppression by religious fundamentalism. Like...the first time I ever celebrated Halloween *as an adult* (because my parents believed Halloween was evil or whatever), I dressed up as Hermione and carved my own wand and made my own time turner. Ugh, JK... *WHY???*
@@sassylittleprophetI felt this so hard. I still enjoy the HP movies and stuff because at least the actors have spoken up strongly in support of trans people, so that makes me feel like I can separate it from the original creator a bit.
I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that a good 75% of people were bisexual, and just the majority ended up in straight relationships because that's the only direction that's encouraged
It's on the same level as the person going, "if you allow gay sex then there will be no more babies because everyone will just sleep with their own gender."
Before I understood that I'm pansexual I thought that people just ignore any attraction to other genders. It seemed so normal to me that the genitals and gender specific attributes don't matter. Now I understand that it does actually make a difference for others. Mindblowing. It's difficult to step out of your own shoes sometimes isn't it?
That's me but I personally am glad that doesn't exist where I live. You see a pride flag on a church you can be very sure it's a affirming church since that's not something religious communities here do unless they mean it.

While dressing their baby in a "I had boobs for breakfast" onesie. Can cis het people go one second without sexualizing everything then getting upset about it 😆
The whole "drag queen = big bad wolf" just reminds me of a fact that in the movie Princess Mononoke, the Japanese voice actor of Moro the wolf mother is a drag queen. I just think that's cool 🐺🏳🌈
there was a pride flag that had a black stripe, it was in honor of those who died to hiv and aids. so i guess that means the christians just admitted that aids victims went to heaven? anyway homophobes don't think lgbt people are human and christianity is terrifying when you actually learn about it. the eye on springfield shirt is top tier. ❤
If homophobes and transphobes think they're the ones going to heaven, then I don't want to end up anywhere near them. Hell is where all the cool people, freethinkers, and heretics will be anyway. I hear The Click is selling VIP tickets to Hell.

The skeleton thing is interesting to me because, like most biology, it isn't as black and white as people make it out to be. I am a massage therapist and I have worked on multiple trans people. I remember working on a trans woman and commenting to her that her sacrum and pelvic structure felt very broad and flat (typically female characteristics) despite the fact that she was AMAB. So it would be likely that upon examining her skeleton, scientists probably would decide that she was AFAB.
What I especially don't get, is how they think that if you've been dead for over 900 years, you're going to care what people think about your skeleton..
Another thing is, a lot of the times really old skeletons get "gendered", it's based on what else was found in that grave. And even then there's a bunch of ambiguous skeletons in museums' basements, like you'll have a "female"-shaped skeleton that was found with "male" burial objects like spears, which goes against the telling that men went out to hunt while women stayed back and cared for the children and elderly, so let's put it in a box and never speak about it again.
So fun thing about the Homer image that transphobic meme used, that is actually an image from an episode where Homer dressed up as a drag queen! He does it to support Marge so super wholesome, he actually enjoys doing it, and he has a grand old time with the drag queens! Also, Smithers is shown in drag, I think he really pulled it off!
And the "7 colors" rainbow is also arbitrary -- it's an optical spectrum, so there aren't any divisions into colors. Choosing 7 was done specifically for Christian numerological reasons -- so "there are 7 colors, therefore the Christian god is all-powerful" (which is actually a popular position among certain denominations) is extra-ridiculous. (Also, the image shown in this video had the colors in the order you'd see for the second rainbow in a double rainbow, not a single one.)
As a man I'm more inclined to be afraid of a nude wedgie than hell... christians don't realize that according to their religion god is the bad guy and hell is the place where every decent person goes... Every saint born and dead before Jesus? Hell! The one who taught humans and gave them intelligence? Hell! Artists that lived of their art? Hell! People who adopted children because they couldn't have their own? Hell! People who killed because they suspected someone thought different? Heaven! Yup, I'll rather go to christian's hell that to christian's heaven...

My new fave is transphobes telling me I should try being a woman. It's like???? I'm 34, I tried being a woman for 30 of those years. How much longer do I need to keep trying? I'm even on medications to try and make my body stop producing too much testosterone, and it has not done anything to stop me from knowing I'm a male, or at least not a female. When not even literal hormone therapy can convince my brain I'm not a man, what else should I try?
Uhm, have you tried lying to yourself while sinking further and further into dysphoric depression and alcohol while everyone around you thinks you're weird and don't make sense as a person somehow, but they can't quite put their finger on it and won't stop talking about it like theyre trying to figure it out as you slowly die inside trying like hell to convince yoursrlf its just a fetish that you need to drink and self abuse out of your system so you can feel better? That doesn't work either. At least not for me 😆
God's rainbow: ok i wont murder everyone again LGBT rainbow: love and equality for everyone! bro as a trans and aroace Christian, i find this hilarious

I love how somebody told me last week to take a break from social media because that was the reason I’m trans. I’m back from that break and I’m still trans. ❤:)))
i was told that taking a long break from the internet, working out more often, and changing up my diet would turn me straight. It actually just gave me the strength to be gayer than ever before
You're trans because of exposure to trans media. No honey, no, I grew up in a conservative family where being cis het was obligatory and I didn't even know that trans people existed until I was 30. 10O% cis media exposure. Still trans, just didn't know it and now have deep trauma because of it.
The Candace Owens lingerie meltdown was even more ridiculous because the underwear in question was adapted to be easier for wheelchair users to wear. She was mad that a disabled person was modelling underwear made for people like them!
Guys, I'm so tempted to screen shot and submit this absolutely ridiculous conversation I was in on Facebook, I think yesterday? Maybe two days ago. Someone was asking about transmen going to the hospital and asking about the pain in their testicles. As if this was a legitimate gotcha moment. I was just like, they are trans, not stupid. No one is going to be more familiar with their bodies than a transperson. I'll absolutely to back and look for it if you want.
Honestly with shit like that I just want to look directly at these people and say, "You're an idiot." And walk away. They don't deserve anything else. No explanation, just state what they are and leave.
Reminds me of the fact that a man once commented "what about sperm pain" under a conversation talking about the movie Turning red being a period metaphor
"If attraction is all that it takes we're all bisexual" -- Guess that means that every virgin in the world is asexual. Kinda weird to think that you have to have a partner just to even be straight.
But then when you are a virgin and you're like "hey, I don't really want to have sex," they're like "no, no, you have to want to have sex. Sex is obligatory."
IDK if I'm ace or not but I have no interest in having a relationship or sex. But I consider myself to be demi and Omniromantic. History and experience does not denote anything like that.
The thing about the archaeology thing is that yeah for one its not easy to tell the sex of the skeleton they find, they usually go by context clues like how it was buried to determine if it was a man or a woman... but the thing is sometimes these skeletons are tested later...and it turns out the skeleton they identified as male because it was buried like a man would in that culture was biologically a woman... or vise versa. So yes, archaeology has found proof of trans skeletons... Of course with modern day burials there are less context clues as most people are buried the same way regardless of sex, the best way to tell if the gravestone somehow survived unharmed... But chances are archaeologists in the future will be aware of trans people existing unless somehow the conservatives manages to completely erase all mentions of them in history...
I just wonder what kind of 'own' the bigots think it is about the skeleton thing anyway. I'd love someone to respond with "Well, what do you want them to do about it? Come back as a ghost and haunt your asses?"
@@Maerahn I sometimes compare pronouns to names... like you'd get offended if someone constnatly and purposely calls you by the wrong name right? There was a forensic crime drama called Bones that had an episode about a trans pastor being killed. The best part is that 1 of the characters named Booth was a devout catholic and insisted on referring to the victim as she. He said she lived & died as a woman so that is what will refer to her as, she. The episode was about bigotry & hatred & religion and it's what I think about whenever I see those crappy memes. The experts knew she was trans bc they were smart enough to read the whole body.
Reminds me of the book "the late show" by Micheal Connelly, where the main character Renee constantly corrects people on the pronouns of a victim. It's pretty subtle, but kinda nice.
@StopSin well aren't you a sad waste of humanity. There is so much worst shit happening in this world and the only thing you can be hateful towards is people being happy & living their best lives. You really do make me sad. I hope you find God. I hope you find true love & peace & happiness in this life. There is so much more out there than just being a bigot.
Funny. I've just recently seen Lily Simpson's video where she talks about this episode. They end up tracking down her son, who is also a pastor, who had a homophobic past - and he ends up moving to the area and taking over her work to honour her memory.
I have a phobia of the dark. I've found rather than curling up into a shivering ball of emotional wreck, I thrash out at any sound or slight difference in the depth of the darkness around me. Real fear activates the Flight, Fight or Freeze response ... but a lot of people tend to forget about the Fight part _(as well as the Freeze, but that's not the part I'm focusing on for this comment)_ which makes you violent and angry. So yes, you're absolutely right - anger, violence etc absolutely IS a symptom of fear. And absolutely IS a symptom of a phobia. The whole transwomen in women's sports outcry also _has_ damaged cis-women who happen to have medical conditions or just natural variations in their biology that means they naturally have levels of testosterone or oestrogen in their systems that breach these guidelines they're trying to put in place. The problem is a lot of the people making these rules and complaining have a serious lack of knowledge when it comes to biology. Like, most men you could ask on the street would have absolutely _NO_ idea that yes, even us cis-men _DO_ have oestrogen in our bodies, and yes it absolutely is required because it by itself, _and_ the balance between it and testosterone, is what regulates and activates a whole bunch of other biological processes within us.
Hate and Fear are opposite sides of the same coin. We hate what we fear. And stoking fear is a great way to generate hate. Anger, however, is the opposite side of the same coin from _Pain._ Most animals lash out when hurt. When you see someone angry, you're really seeing someone in pain. Now, it can be hard to distinguish Hate from Anger, since both look quite aggressive if not also violent when expressed. But the two are quite distinct.
30:46 my favorite thing about people who think that everyone “has thoughts about the same sex sometimes” so it’s a choice is how loud they’re telling on themselves 😂😂 like nah bro, it’s a lot more common than some people like to pretend, but it’s definitely not universal. You’re just saying the quiet part out loud 😂😂
Moreover, they usually imply that without external pressure everyone will give up heterosexuality at all, because family is such a drudgery... No, dude. Not everyone 😂
I love the explanation for the "archaeologists will know you were male" which points out...a lot of the gendering of remains is based on context clues and items they were buried with.
As a middle aged, cis woman can I just say.... thank you! Both of you (and Shabba and Luxeria)... put out such amazing content and I'm a big fan of all four channels and watch you all with love and appreciation. As a pansexual, I wish there had been youtube and content like this available when I was a teen and was desperate to find open minded people and hope this content is reaching those who need it most.
Roly missed the part of the Noah story where God regretted making humans cause we're fuck-ups so he drown the planet (including babies - think of the children). The rainbow feels like a calling card for a serial killer, honestly.
And also the part where indigo is not some seventh color that makes sense as part of the spectrum in the same way red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet do, but just stuck in to make the number be 7, by Isaac Newton, who was a Christian, and totally aware of the significance of those two numbers to Christian numerology.
I remember in my nordic history course we talked a lot about a grave in Sweden. A person was buried there, whose DNA was that of a woman, but the circumstances in which they were buried where those of a male warrior. So of course we talked a lot about possibilities of the person being trans, gnc or anything inbetween. The burial gifts were of high value, which could mean, that the person was of high status inside the warrior troop. So regardless of their identity, the female born person probably has had a lot of respect. This is very interesting to me, because in the early middle ages in nordic texts, masculinity was defined as being ready to use violence to defend ones family from violence. (you know, the whole "protector" spiel).
@@trevorchester4439 you sure know that women still had a different status and wore different clothes during the time. You can look it up if you want to. It‘s called Bj. 581
I think Sue Townsend said that everyone should work as a server in a cafe/restaurant at least once so they know what it's like and to be considerate when they're the customer. Not everyone can work food service, of course, but it's not a bad idea.
Honestly, I used to be a bit of an archaeology nut, and the skeleton thing genuinely amuses me so much. And while I might be a bit behind on specifics (it has been a while), but "gendering" skeletons in dig sites is based more on the grave items and burial procedures rather than the body itself. Sure, the body might provide a starting point, and might give a /biological sex/, but that doesn't mean shit when it comes to actually examining everything. And yes, i admit, there is a lot of hetero/cis normative stuff in archeology (couples being called "friends/siblings" for example), but it really is so much more complicated than that. So yeah, fellow trans/non-binary/non-conforming spuds out there, your future bones are pretty safe!
That Archaeologist meme also shows that they know nothing about how archaeology actually works. It's not just male skeleton = man, they actually cross reference what the person is buried in/with, check against public records and (where available) personal journals and other records. Which means the people using that meme understand archaeology as well as they understand transgender people - which is to say, not at all.
and considering tombstones exist, a future archeologist will also take the name on it into account when determing the gender of the burried person, so not only they show ignorance in how archeology works, but also burial customs
The funniest part of that lady getting angry about the fountain is I used to play in that exact fountain as a child on hot summer days during festivals around the Space Needle. But, the people who would be digging up your skeleton would be anthropologists, who, being in the academic field would understand the context. Not someone who seems to have stopped paying attention in science class at like, what? Grade 4? So, they people digging you up, would likely know you're trans, because with any luck, they would be decent at their jobs.
People misunderstanding the meaning of the word "phobia" is just so dumb. For example, I have photophobia. Just because it's called a phobia doesn't mean I'm scared of light. It simply means my eyes are extremely light sensitive and I need to wear sunglasses more than the average person if I wanna be able to see anything in sunlight. Sometimes even if it's cloudy but still bright. It also means I wear bluelight glasses inside basically 24/7.

"666" itself is not even a link to the devil, the number in aramaic it's translated from straight up means emperor Nero and was used as a cheeky way to speak ill of him in writing. Nero was not a very chill guy, but I guess that much is understood given that he managed to be so unpopular that he made himself a part of the concept of evil in the lore of one of the biggest world religions for thousands of years to the point where people that don't even know where the number comes from will avoid it out of superstition.

A lot of christians buy into the whole idea that if they are “hated and persecuted” on earth like their stories about the early christians, they are doing it right and are assured a place in heaven. Their version of “hated and persecuted” involves much less stoning, burning alive and being eaten by lions and much more being disagreed with or ignored. So the idea that they are likely to think “people are criticizing us - maybe we are the bad guys?” is simply not going to happen. Criticism in that world view means they are holy and doing their god’s work.
I call what you described a, "martyrdom wank." Fantasies of being persecuted, like the early christians (supposedly) were, are something that they really and truly seem to get off on. It's an exercise in mental-masturbation. Oh, and the Roman Empire couldn't tell the difference between christians and Jews for the first 200 years of christianity's existence. So, until Emperor Diocletian, nobody was being persecuted or fed to the lions _for being christian._ It was for not participating in the Official State Religion. The Romans went out of their way, whenever they conquered a new land, to find the local versions of the Roman Gods. Love goddess? That's their version of Venus. Sky god or thunder god or lightning god? Yeah that's gotta be their version of Jove. Do they have a war god? Where's the local equivalent of Mars? The Romans did this so that any Roman visiting the land could worship the "local gods" yet still be worshipping Jove, Juno, Mercury, Mars, et. al. And vice-versa: the conquered people could worship the Roman gods and simultaneously still be worshipping their own. It was a way of culturally unifying the Empire.
