TASTING CHEESECAKE for the FIRST TIME EVER!! - Cheesecake Factory! 

I love to see Yoel trying things, it makes me smile! But to hear him talk about his daughter and niece hurts my heart. There will be a day where they will be able to experience everything he has and more. We take for granted so much opportunity we have to explore and do whatever we want where in countries like Cuba deny such basic things. It’s mind boggling and just not right.

One mistake that a lot of people make is they purchase a cheesecake that has been close to being frozen and then they eat it too soon. If your cheese cake is too cold it will taste thick and heavy. You must let cheesecake get almost room temperature, not warm but not too cold. Let it sit in your refrigerator at least over night and then set it out for about 20 mins before you eat it. If you do this it will taste so much better, lighter, softer and smoother. This is the best way to enjoy cheesecake. It should not be stiff and heavy.

Yoel's face with that first bite is like every bite I ever take. Cheescake and carrot cake are my favorite desserts.

I don't know why, but Yoel's reaction to his very 1st bite literally brought tears to my eyes!

Only in America is there a restaurant themed around cheesecake. This was a good one, love you guys and I looooove cheesecake! That first bite made my day.

Pineapple upside-down is made with pineapple and brown sugar at the bottom of the cake pan then the cake batter is poured over top then cooked, when it is done you flip the cake upside-down an it comes out with candied pineapple and an icing on top. It's delicious and very easy to make. :) Much love to all!

As Americans know, Pineapple upside down cake is made with the pineapple placed in the cooking pan first, then adding the batter and baking it. When done, you flip over the cake and the pineapple is on top.

As an American who's been living in Asia for the past 3 years..I totally miss cheesecake factory cheesecake and their great food..glad you enjoyed it for all of us !:-)

As far as the lemon cheesecake goes, if I recall Yoel hated the lemon 🍋 cookies that Girl Scouts makes, but Mari LOVED the lemon 🍋 cookies. Apparently the same goes for cheesecake. Lol.

My personal favorite is the plain, standard, original, plain cheesecake. Straight out of the box mix, no-bake cheesecake or from scratch. Because cheesecake is so good I don't want anything else to inhibit the flavor! ❤ P.S. Pineapple upside down cake is literally an upside down cake. You arrange the pineapples in the bottom of a baking pan, or cast iron skillet, and pour the batter on top. When it's done, you flip it over onto a serving dish so the pineapples are on top. 😊

Mari, you guys’ editing/cinematography skills for YT have improved greatly! It really looks like pro RU-vidr vids now. :). Although it’s nice to see you guys being amateur-ish in the past, making it like we the audience are at home with you guys, having good editing makes the videos more entertaining to watch. A pineapple upside down cake is when you put slices of pineapple in the bottom of the pan, and the cake batter on top and bake it. When it comes out, you turn it upside down on a plate, and the pineapple stays on top of the cake.

Pineapple upside down cake is a famous American pastry recipe. One of the features is that you cook it upside down to cook the top garnishes throughly. Then, at the last minute, you flip the cake and then put it on the serving platter.

Pineapple Upside Down Cake is cooked with pineapple at the bottom, so all the juices cook together and caramelize. Then when it's served it is flipped over so the pineapple is on top, since cakes with fruit usually have the fruit on top.

Love you guys! Moved to Phoenix in June! My boyfriend is also Cuban! We have not been able to find amazing Cuban food, except in our kitchen (haha!), but for good Latin food, I'd recommend Puerto Rico Latin Bar and Grill off of Thomas, or Mambo's Dominican Kitchen off of Arizona Ave. in Chandler. For good Mexican, Los Reyes De La Torta off of 7th st. But there's good Mexican food everywhere here!

This couple from Cuba has tried more cheesecake varieties than I have and I was born in the US 52 years ago. Lol! Come to think of it they tried more different kinds of pies also than I probably ever will before I die. I need to step my game up. I love the different reactions from you two. it is like my own families food wars. There is the cilantro controversy, the liver conflict, the mushroom incursion and the Lemon vs chocolate civil war. It has taught us to make many compromises and to take extra time in the kitchen on holidays making alternative dueling deserts. There is a clear divide between the Lemon faction and the chocolate herd. I get anything of the sweeter fruit that turns up (cherry, apple, peach, blueberry) because everybody else is vying for yellow or brown. Life is good! Oh yes there is one unifying camp that everyone belongs to, with baklava, it is every man for themselves, dueling forks and all.

About the pineapple upside down cake flavor, its like a cake where the pineapple is put at the bottom of the baking pan and when the cake is done, the pan is flipped so the pineapple is on top. LOL The real Original would actually be straight up plain Cheesecake, which is in fact tasty itself. Then again Strawberry or Raspberry are two of the most well liked common flavors because few people dislike those simple tasty flavors combined with their Cheesecake. Once you get into wilder multi flavor combinations that is where Cheesecake factory shows the diversity of their menu, but likely more could be hit or miss compared to basics like Plain, Strawberry, and Raspberry. I personally like Raspberry more than Strawberry.

I grew up eating Juniors cheesecake living in Queens ( 30 years ago) my grandfather taught me to drink coffee there, 12 year old boy drinking black coffee, with that beautiful cheesecake.

I can’t believe you didn’t try the cherry cheesecake. The expression on Yoel’s face at his first bite ever of cheesecake was priceless. We as native born Americans truly do take a lot of things we have here in this country for granted. It sometimes take a person with a background like Yoel’s to make us realize just how blessed we actually are.

Gotta say, I love The Cheesecake Factory, but I have never, ever had their cheesecake. I usually get a soup and a sandwich for lunch and am so stuffed after eating all that that I've never ordered dessert!

Pineapple Upside down cake is a yellow cake batter with pineapple juice as the liquid and then you put pineapple rings on the bottom of your cakepan/cast iron skillet with butter and brown sugar and then pour the batter on top and bake. when you serve the cake you serve it "upside down" where you tip it out of the cake pan onto a plate with the pineapple on top

In case you didn’t know cheese cake is made from cream cheese (queso cream like the stuff you put on a bagel.) when you make it is like making custard with cream cheese, eggs, and lemon zest whipped together into a batter. Red velvet cake is historically a sponge cake with cream cheese frosting. The red color comes from beats (Latidos). Have Yoel try red velvet cake or red velvet cheese cake without all the others. The subtleties of the red velvet were likely washed about by the mango/coconut bites. Love the videos! Keep it up!

Yoel - You have to find the best reviewed Tex-Mex place near you and try all the different kinds of food. My favorite style of Cuisine's is Italian, Tex-Mex, and Asian.

When I saw the first of their videos, I watched with such joy at his reactions. Then I saw a full video where they enter his first supermarket! Now I'm a subscriber to the channel, and EVERY time I watch a video, I'm ALWAYS tickled by his reactions, and love it so much. Then, I feel a deep sadness, then anger, not only for their families, but for EACH and EVERY Cuban being forced to live in such needlessly, endlessly bone crushing degradation and poverty! And to think that WE think our country is so terrible? We bitch & complain about the state of OUR country? This beautiful couple has opened my eyes to so much. I wish that EVERY single young American could watch their journey, and learn the deep lessons that are embedded in each and every one! My very first job was working at The Cheesecake Factory, before they even had any restaurants. At the time it was just a small shop that made nothing but cheesecakes, mostly to supply local restaurants here in the L.A. area, and a TINY takeout counter up front. I never dreamed they would become the GIANT corporation they are, but even then the cheesecake was incredible.

Watching you guys eat the s’mores one and realizing Yoel has probably never been camping!! You guys need to go to a national park or something now! Yellowstone is the absolute ultimate and showcases America’s beautiful landscape!

As Americans, we are so blessed to have so much in our country. Many people here have no idea what other countries, especially those who are oppressed and kept dependent on their government for everything, have to endure to simply survive. To see this man near tears thinking of family and friends and wishing that he could share these experiences with them, it saddens me. Too many people are unaware of the struggles that so many must face on a daily basis. Blessings and prayers for all those struggling in the world.
