Shia's tattoo actually has meaning to it. It's not "just for a movie". He grew up in Echo Park. It's a picture of his parents and his father was a street performer. From an artist standpoint, its extremely well done. Shia's tattoo is a perfect representation of the Hispanic culture and I don't think it could have came out any better than it did.

As a tattoo artist myself, some of these tattoos look quite good, sometimes it's more about the client wanting a weird design rather than the artist doing a poor job, like the first 1 is an good tattoo and the second one is just horrible

Some bad tattoos are timing too. A guy i knew in high school had got Budweiser king of beers logo tattoo across his back shoulder to shoulder at the age of 18. Then right after the company had sold out to the becks and it was all over the news. Shortly followed by a DUI for falling asleep in a McDonald’s drive through.
