i'm really glad you're enjoying this truck, it's so underrated in the hobby. Everyone talks about Sentons and Slashes but no ones seems to have time for this AE SCT which is bonkers as it drives so well and is super durable! happy shredding dude :)
Seems balanced very well, good air control. These type of trucks are notoriously bad about parachuting, this one doesn't seem to have that problem which is very NIIIIICE 👌🏻
It's a very good truck with some downsides: the stock radio and servo usually fail really fast and the motor mount bends easily which can cause chronic spur gear issues due to unstable mesh if you dont catch the problem. A low center of gravity chassis would be awesome, however for offroad it's less relevant. The powertrain (apart from the potential motor mount based spur issues) is bomb proof, no problem with 550 sized motors with much beefier ESCs. Just drive and replace bearings every now and then.
Spot on with everything! Stainless slash eBay axles also fix the weak plastic ones. I’ve tried all the plastic and heavy duty metal ones of ever combination and they all break but the cheap eBay ones are the strongest. The can handle 6s 100km racing on bumpy grass with mt10 tyres
I replaced the servo for something a bit stronger and much faster, and had a front arm break on mine, RPM MT10 arms go straight on. Also the stock tires aren't glued very well if you decide to take them on hard surfaces, I had to re-glue all 4 after my second time time taking it out. Overall I've love this truck though and am glad to see others being impressed with it.
YES INDEED BROTHER THAT IS TYPICAL TOP NOTCH DESIGN FROM THE ABSOLUTELY NUMBER ONE RC RACING CAR AND TRUCK COMPANY IN THE WORLD!!! THEY DON'T HAVE (""32"")("WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS") FOR NOTHING AND EVEN THOUGH THAT'S ONE OF THEIR LOWER LEVEL RTR IT'S STILL A AWESOME LITTLE PACKAGE FOR THE STARTER IN RC AND WITH A LITTLE BIT OF MODS TO IT THAT THING CAN BE A TRUE TRACK BEAST!!! GOD BLESS US ALL ✝️✡️✝️
This truck is literally a rebadged Helion Avenge. There is no associated design in it. 🤦 The associated MT10 that everyone is going mad about is also a rebadged Helion.
Hopefully they don't discontinue it right away, like most of their platforms. I was very disappointed with the pro rally and the nomad db8. Just a few examples of great, short lived platforms from team associated. I still have an rc18r from almost 20 years ago. I'm afraid to drive it tho, parts are nowhere to be found for it. It was even rereleased under a different name by AE, and very quickly discontinued. I still want one of these tho. AE still makes great rc's
i think that a thin plate of carbon over that steering gap would be a very good idea . put your controller /receiver and a raw500 to fix the steering . copperhead 10 or max 10 combo on 3s will fix up the speed . fling king - Short Course Tire or swap on magma buggy tires are a must do !!!!!!
@@ExocagedRC Because they did it with the Rival which is the same as the Helion Avenge 10MT. And that came with almost identical knockoff/bootleg Pro-Line Trenchers just without the logo. So AE does just slap there name on stuff sometimes. I'm just wondering how American this is.
Losi jr owned helion as Hobby towns house brand. Horizon Hobby wrights the checks now. I have the pro4 with the arrma senton motor and ESC on Badland tires for bashing, really like the truck.
@@bryanhill1419 I guess the question is where did Helion originally get the Avenge from? It was extremely close to a Stampede 4x4, but not too close as to avoid copyright infringement. It's interesting.
Almost frustrating you are such a great leader in R/C and your operating with one hand and making many mistakes you wouldn’t if you were operating with both working hands
Basher meets race truck! Great work by AE, tough and durable but handles great, tons of race pedigree and upgrades should be readily available! After the DK10, I was a bit worried about the direction AE was taking but this thing reaffirms my faith! I would take this over the Slash, all day, every day! And the Senton, hmmm...........🤔 I smell a shootout coming, lol!
Not having moving parts inside the chassis is so nice. I've torn through so many center shafts on my cars, all from a stupid little pebble getting stuck. The dust covers, however, have been game changes. Plus switching to aluminum center shafts. Still, it gets scratched up and if they were composite they'd be donezo. Anyway, that's a nice setup in there. Super clean!
Ended up going with the Slash 4x4 BL-2S but this seems great. We need more competition in this segment. Everyone runs tekno SCT at my track and I’m making it my mission to beat them with the slash
I just bought the exact truck (red and black), haven't ran it yet , thank you for making this video, gives me a idea of how its gonna go , I bought the 3s combo
Love these TA RTRs for their quiet, smooth drivetrains. Polar opposite of Spektrum stuff (which runs fine, but cogs and tends to be noisy). Check your steering link if you cant get it straight. Mine was too short out of the box. Once adjusted it's fantastic.
It's like Traxxas made a slash 4x4 and then Team Associated made a Traxxas slash 4x4 with a different name and then it's some reverse-engineering on it
Of course, it's made by Team Associated. Not some no name China brand. Hell, I can still get parts for some of my Team Associated vehicles from 15 years ago lol.
This things built like a tank! it's based off the MT10 monster truck which is pretty much the best bang for your buck basher you will find (you seriously need to get one on your channel) Loads of upgrade parts avaliable too, the esc and motor will take 3s but you WILL need a motor fan as it gets toasty. Also before you head out with it again I recommend threadlocking the motor mount screws these backed off on mine and let the motor wobble about.
@@ExocagedRCright now is the time. The brushed MT 10 is on sale for $179 plus HW has 15% off for presidents day. Slap a 10BL combo in it and have a 4s capable beast of a smaller basher for $250 ish. I just ordered that them both Friday. I've spent many times that on much lesser trucks. Also ordered a set of RPM arms since they are about the only things you can break on the MT10.
