This game is legit hard, but also, you need to learn his stance. You’re doing too many easy to block high strings. You need to convince the opponent you’re going low, by doing low moves. Then they’ll duck, and that’s how you get to launch. You can’t launch shit if they’re just standing there holding block the entire match. I’m also not seeing many, if any throws. Grab them. They’ll either break it, but are now worried about breaking again, which will slow them down, or they’ll eat it and you get free damage. Attempting to throw, even if they break everytime, adds to their mental stack, which will slow them down.
@@Echilon_30 No problem. I’ve actually been stuck at just Garyou, so ur already ahead of me, but I don’t really enjoy ranked that much so haven’t put a ton of time into it. It’s too frustrating with all the quitting. Even if they don’t quit, I feel like you can learn character matchups so much quicker by doing long casual sets in lobby. I’m always down to play. I’m @robertoelscorch0 on PS5. Hit me up!
Its the heat smash and rage art super armor grabs and all these tracking moves they need to revamp the whole game everyone shouldnt feel like a 50/50 mix up character and its never your turn when its your turn this game is fun to play with friends that's it tuff dbz soundtrack
@@Echilon_30same Tekken isn't the same they clearly made some characters way more spam friendly. Defense does not pay off here just overwhelming force.
That was a bad performance but tekken 8 is where I stop buying this game. Grabs are over powered, hit connections in a lot of instances should not occur and the added battle mechanics should not have been added to the game.
Yeahhh this is my first Tekken, so I am indeed struggling to adapt and learn the mechanics of the game. Feel like I played much better in my previous videos. Grabs are insanely stupid, thus my hate for king.
@@Echilon_30 I’m with you on the king players, on top of that his slams are overpowered. Ducking seems to help more for me since I’m not great at grab breaks and a lot of them can just be ducked. Mostly what I seen with law was all the sweeps you allowed him to get on you and also most players I run into now just bait you into an air move so they can do their 1 combo they’ve learned that’s drains all your life. Good luck with making it to the top.
@@getwitit212 thanks a lot! And you as well on your journey to the top. I think my biggest issue is character knowledge, as you said with Law, I just got knowledge checked as I didn't really know his moves. I think I've just gotta spend some time to evaluate characters n have more patience for sure.
you are going to be at a huge disadvantage against people who have been playing for a long time. they might be playing their 3rd or 4th character in the red ranks. but they still have all of the defensive knowledge you don't. even though offensively you seem to have some options that work for you, you are just going to be surprised and hit by "random" stuff all the time until you view replays and lab it. its a huge effort but thats the way to improve. granted in t8 offense has never been better. so just pick draganov and just bully people to death if thats how you want to win.
Yeah that is something I've began doing is reviewing my games. It has helped tremendously. Id rather become a more well rounded player than strictly offense :) thanks for watching!
Hwoarang mains are fuckin rare dude. I would just practice on strings if i were you and mix up lows and mids. Forget these crybabys. I'm a Lars main and I'm getting back to Hwoarang too. Lars has the worst strings in the game.
no offense but, i can tell by you and your opponents gameplay that in any other tekken yall would both be no higher than avenger rank(yellow) for this very reason everything ur saying about t8 is absolutely true. the game is insanely scrubby and defense has been traded for mashing instead. they pretty much removed the skill floor so anyone can win, on that same note they also significantly dropped the skill ceiling. its impossible to actually be better than someone.
I appreciate your honesty. This is my first tekken I've taken seriously after all, but it is also once my most terrible performances, but I prefer to show my worst and best to be transparent :) I do think the game is extremely mashy and aggressive, I did play Tekken 7 off and on, and the differences in players is wild. Again, thanks for your input, cheers!
I meant no offense bro. Keep grinding. It's just something I noticed within hours of playing. I'm tryna teach my homeboy, a soul Calibur veteran, how to play Tekken 8. Within like 3 hours me and him are literally going back and forth. Granted he is a fgc pro, but that's not the point, dude had ZERO Tekken experience!!! This game is definitely a meme if we comparing it to the actual Tekken series.
@@killa6tv931 no prob! I don't take any brother. The game is definitely different from the others, but yeah it is quite literally the most chaotic mashy game I've played. But it's one of those games that man, when u hit that one combo you've practiced it feels good. Over time, I'm sure the game will progress and separate itself from the series because it is genuinely fun!
This franchise is just trash… People talk about how oh this is ultimate fighting… It’s not… This is nothing more than ultimate button mashing… This is a game for the people who suck at traditional FGC games because this game breaks all the rules of traditional fighting games… Bullshit balance Boring to watch gameplay this is just a whack franchise… For me it died after 4
Yeah, it really is heavily button mashy, but they are releasing a new patch out in "hopes" to make the game less aggression rewarding so we'll see how it goes. This is the first tekken I actually sat down and said i'm going to learn a character, so the challenge of players in this game have made me keep coming back. But, the issue lies with the reward of putting your face in your controller, which is why I slowly lost interest in FighterZ, because they seemed to want to make it "more face paced" and they just made more neutral skips, less thought needed to mixup characters, etc.
@@Echilon_30 it’s crazy because one of the issues I’ve had with every single Tekken that makes it feel slow and sluggish to me when it comes to navigating… Its your back walk speed… in no other game do these people take such tippy tap steps to get backwards out of danger… It makes it feel very sluggish and slow so instead of just fixing navigation speed they figure make it fast paced by keep everything in your face high reward ratios and three different ways to armor up lol it’s fucking ridiculous
@@CharlieBangem Yeah that's why I've been learning wave dashing, because you can back dash much faster using the same thing. There is a lot of insane armor in this game. You should watch PhiDX, he does a lot of videos on fundamentals and ways to counter all the bs in this game. It's helped me A LOT.
