Another product review on a very special surf fishing rod I have been using all season. Broke it down today from cleaning and storage till next year. Here is my honest review on the temple fork outfitters tactical surf fishing Rod. overall very impressed with the ability of this surf Rod. this surf rod is far more superior than any rod I have used. In fact I think I have found a home at temple fork outfitters for all my salt water needs, I think I may explore their freshwater Rods as well. Great surf rod. this is the tactical surf series.. 70/30 Is the split where the rod joins Top is 70% bottom is 30% of the length. The rod will flex more like a one piece. TFO rods and blanks are top shelf.

Rod looks great! But like you said the handle does look a little thin. Similar to the St Croix Seage 9’, awesome rod but felt so thin, almost nothing to grab onto

@@peggoty75 I have the Mojo Surf 8 and 10’. Also have the Seage 8 & 10’6” I want a 9’ the the Seage handle I feel is too thin. Hence looking at other brands for 9’

I don’t know much about rods but I have the older model and I pulled a 43” striper and still have it now going on my 6th season now

Just ordered the 10’6” medium heavy 2-6. Wanted something that I can use as set rig and light enough to through some lure.

70 - 30 means the split of the rod. 30% length butt section and 70% tip section

Not a problem, I have the same rod. Mine is the 11’6” tactical surf 2-6oz , great rod… great action and super light weight…

Also check out century rods surf machine elite 1-6oz in 12’ or 13” a totally different animal… a little pricey but worth your money. I have the 13ft, and my 12ft is coming next week.
