At various different times, "experts" have also said things like... heavier than air flight is impossible. Remote communication is impossible. The Sun goes around the Earth. Rockets cannot work. Nobody will ever land a human on the moon. Getting to Mars is a pipe dream. Sending a human made craft out of the solar system is impossible. And so on and so forth.

Did either of these analysts say a single word about megapacks? Didn't Tesla basically just use all the excess battery supply that wouldve been used in deliveries and throw them in megapacks that have excellent margins?

Different kinds of batteries in megapacks than vehicles. Some of the minerals cross over, but not all of them. It's enough to rule out stealing from vehicle sales to pump up grid storage.

Oh, my. In Palo Alto, CA, if is not unusual to see 5 model 3 or Y cars in consecutive parking spots in community lots. In most of the US, even, it would be rare to see one. This reminds one of the Prius transition two or three decades ago (and the Volvo wagon one a couple of decades before that.) . The untapped market for EV's, and thus clearly Tesla's, is enormous and the transition has barely even begun. What are these experts talking about?

Short squeezes don't last long. Need some actual earnings for a sustained move. I think the big move this week was due to the q2 energy deployment. That caught Wall Street by surprise. Morgan Stanley was predicting only $.50/share earnings from energy in 2026, which is going to prove to be absurdly low.

Hypothesis, FSD slows down more when passing hot people than when passing unattractive people, because the data its trained on biased in some why when people slow down to oogle attractive people. This may not be prevalent in a small model with not too many billion peramaters as the fsd computer may be too stupid to distinguish from an attractive and an unattractive person, however as the model size grows this bias will become apparent.

Jeff Lutz has discussed this many times. He said that price cuts and COGS reductions have almost perfect correlation. Wall Street seems oblivious to this fact, because the OEMs are incapable of that magnitude of cost cutting.

I bought FSD. It's not perfect, but it now drives my car more often than I do by a factor of at least 5-1. Actually a little worried about forgetting how to drive! I'm on 12.3.6 atm, and the biggest reason for disengagements? Google maps chooses a stupid route I have to change part way through, or changes the route I choose part way through. So it's Google's algorithm that forces at least 70% of the disengagements in my car, not FSD.

That is a good question. How do they deal with fog and very heavy rain, vs models with other hardware that defines what is ahead through the fog and rain that blocks vision? I also realize that such fog and rain is very, very rare - maybe that is the entire explanation for using vision only if its truly significantly cheaper. My understanding is that the cost of batteries used in Tesla vehicles are much, much lower, so could that not offset the lower margin due to the cost of the financing incentives?

FSD with vision, optical, can be supplemented when required, eg fog, with "Bat vision" ie sonar, or infra-red etc. All we are doing is using an alternative scene/object detection sensor to act as input to the FSD existing analytical pipeline that normally takes visual input. The device architecture for computer systems is well established with use of multiple devices, each serviced with an appropriate device driver. The majority & core of the the computer system does not need to know the device details, only that "standardized" input will be received

Lidar is even more sensitive to fog and rain, so camera is better. The sole benefit of lidar is that it's doing precise measurement of it's environment. But that does not mean, you cannot live without, our eyes cannot measure anything at all. With high resolution video from multiple angles, you can measure. Less precisely, but still can. We have 2 eyes, the car has 8? Sound recognision might be useful, I have no idea.

how tf does lidar drive in the fog or heavy rain? If it cant see the lane lines or the traffic signal etc how tf is it going to work better than relying on vision?

Lidar can "see" through the fog. It has hi def Google map data and GPS to tell it where the lane is at. Still doesn't hold a candle to the other 99.7% of times when a Tesla is dominantly superior in every way.

Countries that gave the subsidies then pulled back. Of course the sales slowed, somebody was handing out free cash for you to buy and stopped. They are going to wait and see if they start giving out the free cash again.. Not all consumers are stupid.

Nah, Blackrock has trillions of dollars in the market. They could drive it down to $100 a share in a week if they wanted to. Or less. Their problem is that we won't sell at any price. They tried to kill Tesla multiple times. Never worked.
