In this video i review the Creality Ender-5 S1 3D printer, this was given to me by Creality to review but I was not paid to review this product.
I also connect the printer to my Creality Sonic Pad and was able to run both the Ender-5 S1 and my Ender-3 S1 Pro at the same time from the one Sonic Pad.

You can find and download my 3D designs on Creality Cloud

The 3D models were designed on my iPad using Shapr3D. I highly recommend this software, it is incredibly capable, intuitive and easy to learn and use. Check the following link and discount code.

Try the 2 week free trial and be sure to use the walk through demo at the start, I learnt so much doing that.

Hi Jim great review. Just got my Ender 5 S1 and set up was a breeze, Bed levelling was easy, and went without a hitch. Printed the stock Benchy it came with, and it was a fantastic print, far far betted then my Neptune 2. This model is slightly different than the ones I have seen on RU-vid. It has no z axis limit switch and comes with firmware 1.06. Very pleased so far.

Hi Alex, glad you liked the review. I really like this printer, I have now put it in an enclosure and have been using it to print TPU and ASA with great results. I am now running mine on Klipper via the Sonic pad. It is certainly capable of fast printing but I tend to run it at standard speeds for better quality.

Hi Jim, I was wondering if we could send you a pot of our new British Made Abrasive Paste to try. No expectations from us at all but would be great to get a pot to you.

Hi brother curious question when you leveled it manual why did you do -1.40 z
@JimsonMakes
@JimsonMakes Год назад
Sorry but I can’t remember, it was several weeks ago. Even with manual and auto levelling I still adjust the Z offset to get a good first layer, -1.4 is very high, I can’t remember why, when I moved the printer I re levelled it and I think the final Z offset was 0.9

Great review Jim. All I have to do is recover from buying a Coronet Regent with outrigger with other bits and pieces, a CGV336 and Christmas then I can purchase a 3D printer and laser machine. 🌞

thanks for the great review Jim. But the printer is above my attempted price range. Have you heard someting about the Creality Ender-3 V2 Neo?
@JimsonMakes
@JimsonMakes Год назад
I have not tried that printer but I notice that there is a very good deal on the Ender-3 S1 at the moment which has a direct drive extruder and dual Z axis

Hi from Germany Great video, im waiting for my Ender 4 S1 right now to arrive and asked myselve, if you coul share your Cura profile and printer settings. Cura doesnt provide the S1 only the regular Ender 5
@JimsonMakes
@JimsonMakes Год назад
Many thanks for watching. When i set up the Ender-5 S1 in Cura I actually used the Ender-3 S1 profile and changed the build volume and renamed it. I altered retraction to 1mm at 40mm/s for PLA. I experimented with different print speeds, I found I got near perfect prints at 60mm/s and good results up to 120mm/s. I hope this helps
@Killefizz
@Killefizz Год назад
@@JimsonMakes Thanks a lot. Just got my E5 this morning and completed it half an hour ago leveling is done and now start my first testprint. Do you use retract on TPU? Never used TPU before and wanted to trye it on direct extruder
@JimsonMakes
@JimsonMakes Год назад
@@Killefizz I use 2mm retraction at 40mm/s for TPU, I use part cooling and set the bed temp to 22 degC. They recommend no heated bed for TPU but my workshop is cold so I heat the bed to a more normal ambient temperature.
@Killefizz
@Killefizz Год назад
@@JimsonMakes works so far still have stringing but tomorrow ill connect it first to my sonic pad
@JimsonMakes
@JimsonMakes Год назад
@@Killefizz TPU has a high tendency to stringing, if the PLA is stringing it is sometimes due to moisture content. You could try increasing retraction.
