Pete , I have a story for you. I went to a model show many years ago. There was a man there selling new Jo-Han models without the box. I bought the AMC Rambler kit. I asked him about it. He says he used to work at the Jo-Han factory. The boxes were destroyed in a fire. Just before the placed closed. He said they were having a hard time getting paid. Because the company was running out of money. Some people even took tooling to a scrap yard to get money. From one factory Rat to another 🏭🐁
I seem to have got a bargain with this kit although its damaged.🤔😃. The original Johan kit doesn't have the cast aluminium wheels😁. Thanks for watching and best wishes from jolly old England ,👍😎Pete 🤓
Love it Peter... Man I should have bought more hobby shop only testors in the 90s I did get some resin versions like the tri clops custom... And a 32 ford..they were not cheap back then $40+ usd.
good kit pete lovely find that is a good amc rambler and it has a damage roof that what the box said but keep it up hope it goes well on the next video
It has the 1966 Rambler tail lights on it. I have two of the Jo-Han kits, but I haven't seen the Testor's version of it. (I know it's the same kit, but it didn't have the metal extras.). It does build up nicely, but you will need a little Evergreen styrene along one side of the trunk opening to close the gap...unless I am thinking of the AMT 1969 Corvair kit. If so, kindly ignore that last comment! LOL! Big and little tires? That's odd. Usually, they came in the pro-street kits like the 'Cuda. The SC/Rambler should come with a set of the "Other" Jo-Han tires, the unlettered red lines. I should see if I have some somewhere. What's with you and window pillars? :D - You're running a bad streak with those recently. On the stock AMC SC/Rambler had red, white and blue striped head rests.
If A pillar damage more than halves the value of the kit ,I'm happy to try and fix them. Like I said in the vid,if it wasn't for the damage this kit would have been £100. Thanks for the info on it,head rests sound cool👍😎

@petesmodelcarcustoms584 The funny thing is both England and the USA are correct in the how we say it 😅 true fact. It has to do with it family of metal it belongs to . England is more right about (I feel) how they say it, but our flows off the tongue better 😅.but what about your Zed thing? I don't under stand that at all 😅😂.
