Love your choices. I just found and bought a 1792 Full Proof. I cannot find Blue Note in my area. I like the Knob Creek SB store picks, but the KC 12 year is my favorite. I would add Early Times BIB and OGD 114 as top value bourbons.
@@TheAverageDrinker Toss up between Rare Breed and 1920 for me... I love a 50/50 of the EJ bottom barrel and Larceny still sweepings as a fruit bomb though, great watermelon and strawberry blast on the back end! Good as a daily and cheap! Get the little 50ml for $1.25 each, and there you go! 4 oz to Freedom! (Sorry Sublime fans...)
Started my bourbon journey about 9 months ago, just getting used to high proof and understanding the allure. Of the bottles in this video, the only two I have tried is the Knob Creek and Rare Breed, both amazing, both wonderful learning experiences.
As a noob to this why is it no one ever talks about the “regular” flagship bourbons. It’s always the high proof stuff, is it just not worth it to try and buy the the original versions of stuff as a new bourbon drinker?
Post #2 I could easily incorporate any/all of your selections in my Top 5. However, to make it interesting I'm going list different pours 🥃. I prefer my daily pours 🥃 to be in the 90 - 110 proof range and under $70. 1) Woodford Reserve Dbl Oak = $46 2) Maker's Mark Cask Strength = $58 3) Bulleit Barrel Strength = $56 4) Redemption High Rye Bourbon = $50 5) Spirits of the Apocalypse - The Walking Dead KY Straight Bourbon = $30
I started in my 20s with Bourbon and later on switched to Single Malt Scotch, but sadly with inflation I've had to go back to bourbon more often than I'd like. I absolutely love both of Ardbeg's mainline barrel proof offerings and I would kill for a bottle of Redbreast 12 Cask Strength (I know it's Irish), but at the $100-120 price point it's not something that I can justify buying often. There are plenty of great offerings here in the states (Barrell, Balcones and ECBP are always in my top 10), but I wish we had more distilleries stateside putting out American Single Malts.
The Blue Note uncut was the best bourbon I have had. It was $43, and it was so good I went back the next day and got 3 more. And I never spend over $40. My barrel was 116.5 proof. SO good.
My daughter just got engaged To a USA Marine Veteran And I could not be more happy and he's a great Guy, I spent so many Times with him over a great Bourbon and a great Montecristo Cigar So. I Talked to my Buddy Jeff on my local favorite Liquor About getting me some Stagg Bourbon. For the big day. And he told, we will do it
Enjoyed the vid 👍 I'm going to have 2 posts. Nice list. Surprisingly, 7 or 8 out of 10 are readily available at nearby stores. Larceny & Blue Note are not. Not sure if they're the same but, the Knob Creek available to me is the Knob Creek 9 Single Barrel Reserve 120 (as reflected on the bottle) for $50. Being more budget conscious I'd swap the $80 Smoke Wagon UC/UF for the $56 Smoke Wagon Small Batch.
Great list! If you’re not for wheaters, everyone is different. I will say Larceny C922 is far superior to previous years. Fred Minnick put it 17th on his list, right with ECBP C922, but again, tastes differ. For me, I love it! And I love the ECBPs. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for sharing. I tried the Larceny C922 and did not like it. It could be on God’s list and I still wouldn’t like it. Just not my jam. I love the ECBPs, though! Thanks for watching! Cheers!
The knob creek 9 single barrel store picks give knob 12 a run and knob 12 is my favorite also shout out to rare breed which is without question exceptional
I know we can get OF1920, Four Roses Sib, and Rare Breed around here pretty much all the time. I am not sure of the KC SiB. The 3 we can get are all solid choices with the Rare Breed coming in behind the OD and FR IMO. I would love to find the EC BP and 1792 BP. I think I would like them a lot.
Hey love the channel I was a little disappointed that you guys didn't mention Woodford reserve double oak or Old Force the 1910 but I'm sure everybody has their specific taste I'll keep watching though
I agree with the Russell's single barrel it's always amazing, recently found a store pick when I was visiting family in KY and it is delicious. Also on my list now would have to be anything wilderness trail, I have a BiB and a cask strength store pick that are my current favorites. Awesome list, along with the WT rare breed if you can find the rare breed rye pick it up.
I agree with your list...I guess because the list is mostly $40+ we cannot add Early Times or Copper's Craft 100 and is a bourbon list so we cannot add Jack Daniel's SB BP (debatable). I would've add Penelope Toasted, some Booker's if you find them at $85 MSRP, Knob Creek 12 and John J. Bowman SB.
Ohh I love Coopers Craft 100 and Early Times! Those would be great additions! Thanks for sharing. Also loved JD SiB BP and Penelope, as well as KC 12 and Bookers! Cheers!
If you're willing to stretch your wallet to $75, Barrell Vantage is the absolute most delicious whiskey I've had in years. You will NOT be able to stop pouring, once the bottle is breathing.
Nice! Well, I go to Total Bev sometimes to check their list. But past that, I don’t really share where I go for allocated. Generally don’t get it in Colorado. But I shop all around town.
I could not agree more with your picks. I know you want other favorites, BUT 1920 and rare breed are my jam. period. The knob Creek single barrel is fricken fantastic. I buy them whenever I find them. The only one I love not on your list is Jack Daniels single Barrel Barrel Proof. OMG it is also a true Bourbon legend, even though they say it isn't a bourbon.
Dude, it’s Dara’s show. If you want to kick it off or talk more than maybe get your own show. Dara, I know he’s your boy but boot him. Watching him talk over you for 20 mins isnt so fun and kills your usually great energy. IMO only.
Great show guys. Unfortunately my loss, but won't be drinking anymore Brown Forman, Jack Daniels, or Anheuser products, do to this Woke, Trans bs! Keep bringing us good bourbons/whiskey. Thx
