I've had the 2023 XC60 for about two weeks now. Sweet. It's solid, quiet, quick, and goes really long between drinks. I get about 42 miles on pure electric mode. Love the one-peddle drive mode. Great sound system. BTW. It no longer requires the supercharger. Volvo took it out with this last edition. Trust me. It does not need complexity. It will beat over 90% of the cars on the road. A Volvo, no, less!

I own this car now 6 months, I'm 184 cm in height that's way over 6 foot, and I've never hit my head once.

I could be wrong, but I believe when Volvo updated both the XC60 & S60 recharges, they deleted the supercharger. I think it is now just turbocharged and electrified. "Improvements to the Recharge T8 AWD plug-in hybrid powertrain include a new long-range battery, featuring a third layer of cells to increase nominal energy from 11.6 kWh to 18.8 kWh, and a more powerful rear electric motor now delivering 143 hp (up from 87 hp)".

This is correct. There's no longer a supercharger.

Thanks for the info. I've owned several Volvo's ( 2 of which have saved my life in accidents) and was concerned about the complexity of both supercharger and turbocharging in this motor. I still think they're asking a lot from a 2 liter, but at least the supercharger is gone.
@Cal94
@Cal94 Год назад
So as someone who preordered a V60 T8... I believe all the newer recharges are dropping the supercharger, and going turbo only. But Volvo's power numbers have always been a bit fishy to me on the T8s. Mathematically they just add the gas and electric motors' figures. But even though Volvo doesn't run the electric motor in line with the gas motor, the gas motor should still be charging most of the time no? Surely in regular use, there's some parasitic loss somewhere... Regardless, Im still hoping my V60 comes through...

Have you been able to test drive one? They are brutally quick, we are buying one. We went in to get an S60 recharge but I cannot see having that much power in that small of a vehicle (wife, kids will be driving It as well). The extra heft of the XC (exact same power plant), the one we test drove it had 35 miles range.

you’ll always find comments from people who have not actually experienced something, but amazingly are experts!
@Cal94
@Cal94 9 месяцев назад
@@steptoeson007 my comment was about specs and numbers, not driving experience. i got my car. i've tracked it. as expected, it's a riot while u have battery, but WAY down on power once the battery runs out, (which, on TMP-cayuga, took me maybe 20-24 laps). That notwithstanding, i've never owned a +200HP or a +200lb-ft TQ car prior. my butt dyno ain't qualified to tell me how close to 455HP i'm feeling down the straight away, or if i'm getting 312HP at 0% battery. Enthusiasts know we don’t get the HP on the specs sheet, at the wheels. But while it’s relatively well understood what the losses are in an ICE car, that’s less clear with hybrids. volvo doesn’t help at all with that. specs and numbers are two things that volvo has real issues with in north america. "Is the car twincharged or turbo only?" that's a pretty simple question, that different outlets couldn't agree on. Out of Spec reviews i think went all the way to europe to meet with an engineer and was told the supercharger's being deleted. the build sheet for my 2023MY car was printed in early 2022, and still listed it as being twincharged. googling my engine code pulls up zero information (B4204T57). Even on swedespeed, the jury's out as late as the end of 2022. And when volvo does half year revisions, it's hard to know what would actually come with your specific car, if your car isn't due to arrive for 6, 8, 12 months. "Does the base sound system include a sub woofer? and would it have one if i end up with a 2023.5 instead of a 2023?" how do you trust what the dealership says, when the dealership says you're getting a supercharger, but the engineer in belgium says you aren't? (and that's not even considering that european customers were being told basic features they'd optioned were no longer included in their trim, due to supply chain issues, and they'd have to move up a trim level if they wanted them). Volvo has a transparency issue when it comes to details. they're either iterating too fast (ironic for a company whose lineup had been pretty stagnant), or they simply don't feckin care.

Hey here some greetings from Germany. I have the XC 60 T( Recharge now for 10000km and it is really a super car - but: the rear lights for driving back are only candles. Terrible at night and special in rain. Same major problem with the 360° camera at night and rain. Not acceptable for that price. Stay safe!

Nope. Wait for the 2023 models that are just starting to hit dealerships. The phev gets 50 miles of electric range (versus 35 in the '22 extended range). I also like the way the new trim packages are. You can get any color combination with the dark theme. To get the black trim before, you had to get the R Design, but that only came with the black suede seats. I don't like those seats at all, they're way too hot. Now, if you want denim blue, maroon brown seats and black trim like I want, you can do that!

It’s a great looking CUV!! That really is a fast vehicle, looks great and is likely very comfortable for me. I am only 5’8” tall, stocky but fit. I doubt getting in and out will be an issue for myself. The trick is, just duck,,,, when you get in and if you are taller, duck lower!! Hahaha. Kinda like when you own a lower car, or sports car. Getting into my different older Z cars is an exercise in agility as well!! Just duck!! Haha. The interior is mimicking the interiors of other vehicles in this class. People want a stick for shifting, even though a button, or dial works the same as nothing is directly connected to the transmission anyways. There will be people hurt as a result of the stick system there like in other vehicles. Remember when Jeep Grand Cherokees had a shifter that always returned to the same positron no matter the gear and people making errors and running over themselves?? They were forced into recalling the vehicles because people cannot accept the fact they made a mistake. Own your mistakes and move on. Don’t go blaming someone else. If only people that decide on issues like this would say that and say “No money for you! Ya screwed up!” Instead they rule that the big corporation has to pay as they should be psychic and assume there has to be an extremely slight, minuscule group that can’t figure anything out for themselves. Pay them!! Haha. I can see that happening with the new shifters again. I don’t fault the products at all and quite like them for nostalgic reasons. Gonna be a nice vehicle and 35 miles range is a great improvement!! Most buyers will be successfully commuting in EV mode only!!

I’m not happy with CCP ownership because you just don’t know what the evil bastards will pull next. Don’t do business with them or the zRussians. Also, those little engines being supercharged and turbo changed at the same time is crazy (they do sell some like that still in other cars I believe). Adding PIEV bits just means too much can go wrong.
@anomof
@anomof Год назад
They kept the turbo in 2022 but dropped the additional supercharger. I’ll bet you have a single cylinder motorcycle as your mode of transportation due to the less can go wrong concern. I’m with you I prefer to pedal to work but stuff still can go wrong…believe me.

Unfortunate if you live in a cold climate I would hold off buying until they fix the Climate system heating performance issue. Many people having issues and part is backorder for a long time. While they say you can get heat on gasoline mode. So what is the point to have an electric car if you cannot get heat in electric mode? Volvo - shame on you for not getting a fix and continue to promote a product that is not working.
