UPDATE: This video is now out of date, but the sequel video is now up: • Three BRUTALLY Efficie... Whether you prefer Sharpshooter, Squad Leader or Shock Trooper, we've got all bases covered in this one.
Guardsman, two thirds of these suggestions are essentially a suggestion a guardsman go out of their way to obtain and utilize something other than the lasgun duly issued to them by the God Emperors most holy munitorum. The Commissariat will be in touch, please assume the position and await judgement.
Running Surgical on Helbores and the no-ammo consumption on crits for lasweapons ALONG with the first 10% of a magazine having extra crit makes you never have to worry about ammo ever again
well......u never had to worry about helbore's ammo in previous patch too.....i feel it's a wasted point if u put it there. unless u are using recon vld i think it's a waste.
I've been running a lil Krieg Cosplay with the shovel and Helbore, and oh my god... I use a Mk3 variant which is larger, over 150 higher charge damage than my previous Mk2, and is just BIIIG. Along with Surgical and Flame, I have my own Lascannon in the palms of my hands! Then I have that Melee ability, when combined with a shovel with bonuses against maniacs and unarmored, I clear out ambushes and hordes like no one's business.
I've been finding stealth as a revival tool immensely powerful. With two charges, and no threat generation, I can revive the whole team in clutch situations without much danger at all.
take the warcry with perk to revive with it and you can resurrect the whole team instantly in the middle of any mess. (Haven't even tried infiltration, I'm having too much fun with warcry and revolver around the same build except infiltration ofc)
I've been running the same loadout as your revolver build without deadshot with great success since patch dropped, because I was convinced I needed the +60% total damage on ult. But your video made me realise that I don't really need to get to the bottom of the tree and don't ult often enough to justify getting that dmg boost over deadshot. Can't wait to try it!
Great video! Would love to see this with the other classes as well. I recently rolled an amazing headhunter 3 and its such a beast. Will be copying your talent tree next time I hop on darktide!
I think you should try out a plasma gun build. It can do similar damage to the helbore with the added benefit of shooting through walls. Its incredibly useful
@@theactionwindow5008 guessing that's for damnation diff? The 20% to alt fire with everything else in the left tree seems to shoot its damage through the roof if you're using it to snipe ogryns and maniacs. Against bosses, agreed. It's not super impressive like I think it should be. I'm not at the "end game" stuff yet though so I can see why people would take something else. But with the higher enemy counts in damnation and auric missions I could see it being too slow for high pressure situations, compared to the hellbore or headhunter. And you don't get the stagger like you would with a bolter either.
Gets Hot! now gives up to 50% crit chance the more you ride your overheat. Everything dies when you overcharge and headshot. In tabletop 40k this gun is used to kill Chaos Space Marines (among other nasty foes); purging mundane heretics with it is *almost* a waste of ammo.
@@theactionwindow5008 Hits like a supersoaker? It still oneshot kills Reapers and Crushers like nobody's business on hardest difficuty and the Plasma gun I have is kinda crap.
I tried running the Helbore lasgun and holy shit was it frustrating. Constantly having your shots intercepted by an Ogryn that bumbles through your character model almost made me rip my hair out
Stealth is so fun man. You have to definitely have a think about what it is you want to do but those seconds of breathing room can really turn the tide of an engagement.
I found that the 90% reduced stealth and the extra toughness upon leaving stealth are wasted points since you suppress everything upon leaving stealth anyways and you have so much extra power that you can simply kill everything nearby.
I don't take the toughness DR because it's useless, but I've personally been able to get huge value from having free reign of enemy back lines for 10 seconds. If it doesn't work for you, use the point wherever you like!
When the update hit i immediately went to the revolver and loved everything about it. Not a huge fan of going into melee though. I prefer taking "always prepared" on the left side, so getting ammo back triggers way more often. Playing auric means a lot of specials. This way i have lots of ammo and rarely even need to use melee.
Спасибо , билд на плазмопушку очень порадовал) Наверное самый легкий билд в плане геймплея, зажал кнопку стрельбы и просто наводись на цели, очень удобный билд)
At first glance, I ignored the right hand side of the trees because I figured the left and middle would be more valuable in the vast majority of situations. Thanks for showcasing how useful it can be, especially with the revolver. I miss sustained fire for volley fire but it seems stealth can somewhat fix that.
My pleasure, the stealth ability is definitely an odd duck but it's better than people give it credit for. Here's hoping the buff it slightly to have a smaller cooldown!
Opted for an almost full Left tree with leftover points specced for big targets and I can one or two-shot almost anything on Heresy with the Mk3 Helbore! FOR KRIEG!
To use anything less than the God Emperor’s holy bolter is heresy of the highest order. Trial is postponed indefinitely. Judgment ; is the Emperors mercy.
Shock trooper need rework for all weapons. Lasgun/autogun no ammo on critical - Bolter/Plasma extra dmg or small aoe dmg. Revolver/Shotgun extra headshot dmg.
Vraks III one should work, just don't take the 2 nodes up top for the Critical hit rending and instead take Longshot and the Reload talent on the other side.
@@theactionwindow5008 kind of reminds me of playing handmaiden in vermintide 2. Allows you to make huge plays and clutches but also do whatever your team needs most in the moment. Thanks for putting it out there
Agripinaa Shotgun? The secondary Fire - is a pseudo sniping weapon. 12 rounds ready for emergencies, but keep reloading secondary, effectively meaning you only fire the 13th round - then swap back to Melee - Q Switch and Headshot anything nasty with your 13th round - reload your secondary switch back - if things get crazy you can unload the 12 rounds to stop being overwhelmed. It is like having a one shot bolt gun - non-explosive effect.
It's a sick gun after that last pach - 14. I made this video during patch 13 when it hadn't been buffed yet. Rest assured, I will be covering shotguns on this channel very soon.
They need to do this with VT2 if they haven't already. And we need clans. Finding a group of okay dudes to do the harder stuff with should be easier to do. Met some cool folks like that over the years. Great game, and love your builds. Bring in some Ork boyz, Xenos, Eldar and some big vehicles, bigger or more interesting bosses to fight would be awesome on top of what we have. Happy to buy a well thought out expansion pack. This game has great potential for the future. Firm favourite at the moment. Fatshark have done a good job.
I'd use the Mk3 Lucius if only the stabbing animation wasn't feeling so wonky. I prefer the Mk2 myself. But even then the build i use it with isnt all that specialised I instead focus on keeping my squad live and in the game, while also getting just about every possible grenade perk. I've seen a lot about people saying that the Voice of Command revive ability is borderline useless (a literal quote from some random on another video: "You don't need it with a good team, and if you do need it the team's shit and you should wipe anyways") But it has saved the team on several occassions on Auric Maelstroms. I'm still tempted to try your builds though, they seem interesting
Those people are clearly playing on a difficulty that is easy for their level, nothing wrong with that but it does affect how usefull certain skills are :)
I like mk2 and I won't lie, it's simply because I miss a lot. Very forgiving and spammy. But still lots of power. But maybe I should just play mk3 to improve my aim.
Sounds about right. This community seems to add up to similar places of league of legends players. Not sure why either, this game isn't even pvp...Is cancerous douche bag just a normal trait of WH 40k fans?
Hello! My melee weapon on the vet always tends towards what I consider the strongest option because melee is where you are most at risk and most likely to die (outside of special wombo combos). Right now Chainsword (Savage Sweep and either blood letter/rampage), Devils Claw IV (Savage Sweep and Rampage/Shred) and the Rashad Combat Axe (Brutal Momentum and Headtaker/Decapitator) are my top 3 melee weapon picks. Each is powerful in its own right and excels in specific situations. Perkwise, pretty much always Maniac, and then depending on the weapon it changes. The Chainsword has a sick moveset, big movement and the option for bleed stacks for bosses. Unyielding is a nice second perk if you're running Blood Letter, else Infested/Flak is also good. Devil's Claw 4 does good damage vs all targets except carapace, great mobility and has the parry special which is amazing when you figure it out. Infested is my preferred second perk here, to speed up Poxwalker clear. The Rashad is a simple to use weapon with incredibly strong attacks and can crack open Carapace with its heavies with ease. Flak is my preferred second perk, then Carapace as a second choice. Hope this helps!
@@theactionwindow5008can't wait. Been leveling up my ogryn. Went back to my veteran to run damnation with friends only to find out the entire tree has changed 🥲

Perk wise, always Maniacs as Muties and Flamers are MUST DIE enemies and like to come into melee range. For the second perk, if you have the luxury of choosing, Can't really ever go wrong with Flak. Infested isn't a bad pick on the Devil Claw/Chainsword either to help clear Poxwalkers.
I love the Vraks VII but it's a hard gun to use. If you can reliably hit heads with it, and you get one with Surgical/Deadly Accurate, it's a very good Sharpshooter style gun (can run something similar to the Hellebore build iteration A).
thanks for the concern my dude, but honestly I like a higher screen cause historically I've found looking down is what really hurts me, posture wise. I am low key obsessed by good ergonomics though
maybe my build is just greedy but full left side taking all damage perks possible then going as deep through the middle as you can afterwards on the revolver allows executioner stance boosted critical headshots to one hit kill ALL enemies except for mutants which will take 2 shots instead. ive got +carapace +crit damage, surgical and hand cannon on a revolver with 375 base stats with very high rolls on damage, crit, and penetration. with only 5 shots in the cylinder and such a long reload the difference between killing something in 1 hit vs 2 simply cannot be overstated. it is extremely gratifying to kill >5 elites with only 5 bullets.
AT the time I made this video, it was not. Now, it's REALLY good. I'm gonna do a video on it soon but the short answer is you can't really go wrong with it, it slots into quite a few builds neatly. Definitely take Scavenger aura with it though, it's one downside is ammo.
tbf it was a really crap weapon last patch, when this video was made. At that time, these were some of the only really good weapons for Veteran. Everything else got buffed in patch 14.
As someone who avidly likes the Hellbore II, do you happen to know what the breakpoint difference is between it and the III when it comes to things like flak, carapace, and maniac?
Off the top of my head no, I'd have to test it. Hellebore 2 is still a really good gun and you can definitely use this exact build with it to good success. The main difference is that the Hellebore 2 won't get as much value from Surgical because of its fire rate. Hellebore 3 will be better vs elites and the 2 will be better at eliminating mass shooters.
Short answer is 'mostly yes' Long answer is: Death Korps stuff is on sale in premium store now (gasmask outfit) Commissar outfit is a mix of cosmetics from various premium sets, these will eventually come back into the premium store on rotation Commando outfit is the body and leg pieces from the bonus cosmetics received with the Imperial edition of the game, and the helmet from the Veteran penances (earnable in game)
Man, Agri IX is such a weird gun. It's worse at being a sharp shooter rifle than the VII, and it's worse at being a pushy, cqc headshot gun than the III. It's kind of this piggy in the middle of the 2, so if that's your jam then use it. I don't like it too much personally. It's at least useable now after the massive rework in the patch :)
You won't get the 1 shots on the really high HP enemies like the III but you will put down shots faster. I still think both the other Hellebores are good, it really depends on speed vs power and far along that scale you want to slide, one way or another.
I run mostly toughness, i have a +3 stamina curio I run in one build. I think you can't really go wrong with a mixture of +HP and +toughness but on the Vet I generally favour toughness. Curio perks, I like Stamina Regen, Block Efficiency (really nice with Devil Claw and Parry), Gunner Resistance, and Combat Ability Rengeration as my preferred perks. +HP is good too.
It's my belief that with Veteran you want to run the strongest melee you can in order to have the best survivability, and as melee is where you're most likely to die outside of specials, you need to come packing. I was thinking of starting to work on Vet or Zealot now that my Psyker is at 30 like my Ogryn has been for ages. Guess this decided I'll do my Vet! Also, what UI are you using there? I'm guessing it's a mod since I was recently told they exist for Darktide by a friend, but I don't know what it'd be. Seems helpful to have important info centered like that though! Also, what melee weapon were you using? Seemed to be the same one for each build, so I'd love to know what it was and what you were running on it if possible, to have a nice pairing with any of the three builds!

Heya! On 2 of the iterations I have to path through it for the Stamina regeneration delay node and to reach the keystone at the end, so I assume you're referencing iteration A. The suppression effect on the HB3 is very minor but it still does suffer from suppression a tiny bit. That having been said, if you feel the point is wasted there, it's a very easy switch to Iron Will, which is what I'd take instead.
I'm fairly certain Rending doesn't interact with unarmoured and that the extra damage max rending is only vs targets than can be rended. Afaik Rending doesn't interact with UA or Infested at all.
Was testing out your builds and for some reason im not seeing any damage improvement when using the Superiority Complex node. I tried this using a braced autogun and an infantry lasgun. If anyone else is experiencing this bug i would spend that skill point elsewhere
Did a little more testing, the dmg did increase against the mauler, the 2 types of ragers, shotgunners, and gunners. But there was no increase in damage against snipers, flamers, mutants, hounds, trappers, and bombers. If this is supposed to be normal I have been mistaken this whole time about what is considered an elite... Edit: and of course I figured out the answer to my question... the mobs that the node didn't work on were specialists... Sorry for having wasted your time.
@@theactionwindow5008 I just saw your reply after typing my wall of text. Yeah I was confused this whole time. Thank you for taking the time to even bother with my confusion. And again, sorry for having wasted your time.
I started playing this game like a week ago so have mercy.. why does everybody pick voice of command over the stealth ability? I mean you can easily get out of a bad situation, pick up a mate easily or rush the objective

@@theactionwindow5008 yeah that was rlly helpful! Ill keep and eye out for those so I can try them out eventually Rn I've been using chainsword with the bleed blessing and the movement speed on special action. i intended to change that one, but with time, I ended up finding a playstyle that really benefits from it and really works for me as a solo player. I kind of adopted a mobile and agressive, but still supportive playstyle. Which ends up with me using the movement speed to run into the middle of the action/ or a particularly rough ranged group/ high threat enemy and either meele supress them, kill said HT enemy/s or use VoC in the middle of it to create time and space for my team to engage/recover defenses/ defenses/ yada yada. This has been working wonders for me, since I was getting frustrated by how even in Auric missions, I never anyone cover for me when I engaged in more methodical shooting playstyle. And the lack of mobility, sometimes stagger, or overall survivability didn't help. Or straight up speed when they all just decide to run ahead expecting I somehow kill all the ranged, specials, etc, with my Mark3 hellbore, while I keep up with their mobility and deal with half a horde on my ass by myself. Anyway sorry for the rant but if you want to give it a try I'll gladly share the build, its honestly a lot of fun and rlly good at making me feel safer, more independent if needed, helpful and do some cool proactive plays. Bit ammo hungry but definitely not more than the beam lazgun with little to no ammo nodes

@@Daethzonez most of the time, patches don't break mods. Certain mods tend to break on some patches, but whenever the game is patched it turns all your mods off. You can turn them on and off very easily. When i have mods that break on patches, i normally just trouble shoot which one it is and remove it until it gets updated. Most of them don't ever break though as they only affect one tiny thing that doesn't change with patches. 99% of times there are updates to mods that break with patches, normally a day or 2 after.

You can! When in the talent or loadout screens, near the top right you'll see a + button that allows you to create profiles for each character. I stumbled upon it by accident last night after fully changing my builds after every single match, now I have a tab for each build and one where I experiment with some mix-and-matching
Hello mate, I will be dropping a video on EXACTLY this this weekend, detailing both how to install mods if you're new/never done it before and then how to achieve the UI I have here. Make sure to hit subscribe and turn on the bell notification if you haven't already. It's not a quick answer but I do intend on making it as clear and as easy as possible.
They stack in the sense that you will get to 40% brittleness faster with both over one, but you're correct in that they don't combine to 80% brittleness. Doesn't matter though, if you don't wanna run one/the other u don't have to. I like to run both because I like to get up to max Brittleness stacks as fast as possible.

Would be fun, if anything we could do couldent already be done better by every other class. You said you play tested this update? Did you speak up while they systematically gave vet a heavily taxed tree and gimped them to the point of near uselessness in higher tier play? I really feel for the guys who have been buying up cosmetics for a borderline useless class.
Patience. There are a lot of changes that haven't made it over to the Live version of the game. They will do soon. And to answer your question, I wish you could see how I spoke for Veteran. It will become apparent. Also, the other classes are all going to be nerfed. Trust in the Emperor brother. You are not useless.
@@theactionwindow5008 just feels like the entire focus of the update was to get the guys complaining about vet being op to stop. Like that was the entire goal of the update. @@bradydonovan6180 it may seem like that but it isn't the case. Change list is huge, and everything requires Xbox certification now. These things take time. You won't have to wait long.
Frags are garbo. They only damage unarmored for considerable amounts and those are the least dangerous enemy types, excluding enemies you can't reliably grenade kill.
Right now the power levels are all over the place because of the huge update the game received. My feeling is these imbalances will be addressed in future patches.
