What do you think of the Seltos? It impressed me with its space, features, and overall package for the price and size. *Thank you for watching and have a great day!*
It's nice. Im looking for more back/cargo space. I wish the back seats would fold down flat - same issue in my KIA Soul. Back area is my huskeys area ;*)
I don't like the front design. It looks they patch it up with uncohesive shapes and materials that don't turn out great. The side profile looks like the Nissan Kicks.
Wife just bought S Turbo a month ago. 1500 miles later, she loves it. Great power and more room on the inside than you would think, and she gets compliments all the time on the looks. And, lowest MPG yet is 27 and best 34! NO BS! I think the EPA under rated this vehicle. She traded 2016 Sportage, which never had any problems with. Kia simply makes a great product for the $.
Auto or AWD? I'd like something with AWD and some ground clearance for winter, but also want to get at least 30mpg combined. Right now I'm considering a used Volt or Optima Hybrid and an old 4WD. It would be nice to be able to only get one vehicle to handle both needs.
The first time I saw a Seltos I had no idea what I was looking at. The design is such a deviation from what we've come to expect from Kia, but I love it.
@@RandomGuy-co7rq yes, the June sales figure says it all, Kia is really committed to the Indian market, unlike Honda, Toyota and other European car makers, who are still dilly dallying in the marketing.
Just bought a Turbo S yesterday and I’ve never ever considered a Kia in my life. I sort of mini-panicked after getting home with it after a long day at the dealership. But after a day of taking it around the city and seeing your review I feel a lot better! Thanks for a great video!
Got my SXT about a week and a half ago. I absolutely love It! Very comfortable, it has the bose sound system which is fantastic, mine does have auto brake hold as it has the electronic parking brake, very comfortable seats, so much space, and the adaptive cruise and lane keep work fantastic! I highly recommend this car.
My hubby bought me a 2021 Kia Seltos SX in limited edition color Starburst Yellow. Best vehicle I ever owned. It drives so smooth and very comfortable. It has all the new technology and took time to get use to. It's got the sporty luxurious look I wanted without paying the price. Worth the money and suggest it to anyone looking for a good suv.
Purchased one of these in February when I took my Soul in for an oil change, and saw the Seltos in the showroom. Had no intention of getting another car, but the Seltos resolved the one thing I didn't like about the Soul, and that was lack of cargo space with the seats up. I wanted more, but didn't need tons more (just wanted my golf equipment to fit nicely, which it does), so the Seltos fit right in the slot I was looking for. As far as I'm concerned, the ONLY competitor in its class, when you consider cargo space, is the Suby Crosstrek. But the Kia is cheaper, gets a little better gas mileage in the FWD version (which is what I got), and has the better warranty. However, my wife has a fully-loaded 2018 Crosstrek, and it does drive a bit smoother than the Kia, but I find the Kia seats a little more comfortable. Both are nice vehicles, and I have no regrets about buying the Kia. I bought the 'S' trim, which is the only one you can get FWD in, and it has all the bells and whistles I need. Blind-spot monitoring would have been nice, but I've been driving for 43 years without it and haven't sideswiped anyone yet (came close a time or two), so it wasn't a deal-breaker.
@@lavapop1900 A bit late for this reply. Sorry, but I never saw your question until now. I'll respond just for the benefit of anyone else who might look at this thread. I went for FWD because it gets slightly better gas mileage (according to estimates) and was less expensive, and I don't need AWD, as my wife has an AWD vehicle and I just stay home when the weather is bad anyway. I also figured it was less stuff that could break, though that isn't based on any mechanical knowledge. Essentially, it was price and better gas mileage.
@@indofokinfolkfoo3448 In the U.S., it's one of the best out there (5 yr/60k overall and 10yr/100k on powertrain), but I have no idea how easy it is to get work done under warranty since I've not had to do it. Still loving the car though.
This morning when I woke up, didn't expect to be driving this bad boy home. Got the Pearl White S. I have to say, as soon as I saw this in person and was behind the wheel, I was sold. This thing is really sexy in person. I'm in love with this. 😁 Wish the companies had some sort of affiliate program for individuals such as yourself as this video pushed me to check this car out and have me make the decision. Great video. Sold me 👍
This video was the model I wanted in the exact color I wanted and you talked about literally every single detail I wanted. I watched nearly every single video on YT about this EX model and somehow missed this gem. Liked and Sub’d! Great video man 👍🏻
We literally just bought one last Saturday for my hubby, in the SX Turbo. We absolutely love it. Shopping is easy, with plenty of storage space. We got the Neptune Blue, and named her Navi, as we're also huge Zelda fans! This is out 3rd Kia in 6 years and we are super happy with the offers they have, the other 2 are Souls, and we'll keep going back to Kia for cars in the future.
What a value. I am coming from a 1st and 2nd generation Honda CRV. Those cars rocked! The Seltos has about the same room and rides much better. Not sure I will get the 20 years I got out of my 1st gen CRV, but from what I have experienced so far, KIA did a really great job on the Seltos. Lots of room, both in the back, front, and middle, and I'm 6 feet tall. I love the features and comfort. All for just over 22 grand! It's a pleasure to drive. Don't worry about the road noise. The CRV's were allot louder, and nobody made much of an issue about that. I mean CRV's were ALLOT louder. This is one of those rare cars that gives you a huge bang for the buck. If you want a luxury car go buy one, but if you want a great all around car with great utility, I think we found a winner!
I actually like it. I drove it yesterday SX1.6 GTI AWD. I was impressed. I have a 2018 Nissan Maxima which I love but it’s just to big for me and when I need to haul something or put my bike inside the car ...I have to take my wheel off...I won’t need to with this vehicle. I’m giving up some bells and whistles but gaining different ones as well. Good review! I am buying this vehicle.
Had to make sure you got the led headlights and blind spot alerts huh? I think it’s stupid that everyone makes sure they get that because they just want everything to be update
I went through Costco paid only $28,333. for SX AWD with the sun roof option since it was separate. 3k below msrp about. I didnt get the mud flaps but Costco made me get the paint protection option so , ok ) . Still nothing els I tested that I liked came even close to the price, and the Adaptive cruse is amazing . Other vehicles I tested and researched that didn't get my sale for all different reasons include Mazda CX-30 C-x5, Ford Bronco 1.5, Sub Forrester an Cross Trek , 21 kia sorento fWD. Nis rogue.Hyundai Santa Fe and Kohna AWD. Seltos was a winner for me out of all of those others. under 40 K was my goal and I came away 11k under budget! Guess who has room in the garage for another motorcycle now )!
Just bought an SX AWD turbo in pearl white last night. I love it. Traded in my 2015 Kia Sportage for it. Nothing wrong with my Sportage, but I wanted an AWD vehicle. Super happy with it.
Just bought a white EX today. I work for a kia dealer as well. For the price, this little all wheel drive car is awesome. I live in New England too so I cant wait to rip around in the snow
Excellent review, impressed with your real world thoroughness. The one bad part of the Kia isn't the vehicles plastic though, it's the dealers. After visiting the Kia website and requesting a quote from 5 different dealers I received replies that failed to give me any of the quotes I requested, just bs remarks like, "...none of our Kia Seltos' sell for the MSRP..." or "...we don't have any vehicles in stock..." Good car with lousy dealers equals no sale to me. I work too hard to be treated like a that. Kia should get sales people match their cars.
After searching, and searching, and losing a few, I was able to get my hands o. The SX Turbo with a sunroof in the Snow White Pearl. I'm in love! Drives great! Down sized from a Honda Mini van. I still feel like I'm in a larger vehicle! Love the features for the price. My only issue is that I'm having a problem with the Bluetooth. After tons of trouble shooting. It's going in to the shop on Monday. Other than that, it's literally the most fun vehicle I've ever driven.
Great review! I’m awaiting confirmation from my local dealership tomorrow morning on what SX models are available to purchase. I aiming to be a Seltos owner within a couple weeks time!
I’ve had my Chevy Malibu for eight years and now it’s time to get a new car and I was so confused when I got to the dealer about which car to get so I left with nothing but after doing some research I think I want this car your review was great wish me luck 🤞🏿
I’ve owned my SX Turbo in the Onyx shade for just about 2 months now. IM IN LOVE with her 😍. Previous vehicles were; 2015 Mini Cooper and a 2018 Wrangler Sahara. And can easily say that it’s the best handling vehicle I’ve driven. Not quite as efficient as the mini was, but obviously the mini was a FWD and significantly smaller.
This is the Korean Jeep XJ...simple, practical, useful and affordable. I've never bought a KIA..kinda always been a snob about it. But the Seltos EX will be my first one. Good job Kia.
Definitely a handsome little crossover. Really dig this particular trim, especially in this color. I can see a lot of styling cues which remind me of the new highlander.
_Fantastic review!! Purchased the EX trim recently and it suits my needs amazingly - my dislike is the auto stop/start; it just feels really weird. But so far that is the only thing that seems to bother me. Thank you so much_ 😊
I like the S trim the best, since I hate the push-button start proximity sense systems (give me a regular key & manual remote any day), don't like sunroofs (& the likely problems they bring later on) & I want a regular pull-brake parking brake instead of an eBrake parking brake system. Thinking about picking a Seltos S trim up in 2022 & trading in my 2020 Corolla SE sedan (which has all the hated features that I mentioned). Most cars today are loaded with way too much stupid and/or gimmicky tech-bloat. Steel Gray is easily the best color in KIA's lineup.
My pet peeve is the road noise. I love long drives and after 3 to 8 hours I'd feel so tired at the end of the day due to the constant noise level. Great review, great looking car & features. but a "Hard No" for me due to the noise. Perhaps with softer materials instead of cheap hard plastic will reduce the noises.
I stood next to a Kona the other day and according to my search it’s 61” in height while the Seltos is ~64” in height but it looks like this car is right around neck level for you. I was thinking the Kona feels more like a sedans height with a hatchback. The difference of a few inches isn’t much but it does seem taller.
The Kona is quieter and less roomy inside and less ground clearance with no locking AWD or down hill breaking assist, Kona is better for road only or if you don't need the inside.
What a Review! You touched Point no Everything...this just got to Puerto Rico and I've been waiting for cheap SUV besides the Tucson. Now i don't know if ti wait for the 2021 Tucson change or to Buy this. I like it's price and that is AWD
Hyundai/Kia/Genesis are killing it as of late. Top notch styling, materials, tech, features etc all for less $ than their competitor! You can charge less for more when you also produce the steel in your vehicles 😉
Reaaaallly thinking about trading up into one of these. The storage looks awesome, especially since I just took on a sport coaching role and have to haul a TON of gear now. Thanks for the awesome review!
Headlights an turn signals are opposite on sx .signals on the bottom and the 3 led lights look better. The sx AWD come with more premium tires that are 235 wide. I am only so far getting about 28 MPG at best the way I drive with the SX AWD, mostly highway, maybe the motor needs more break in miles to improve MPG. The dual clutch trans was actually a selling point for me since I drive hard in bad Ca traffic and around crowded towns, a cvt does not cut it for getting out and around situations like the one in the subaru cross trek I jus tested with supposedly more hp, it was slug compared the kia Seltos SX AWD.
It’s a great looking vehicle, love it and seen them on Kia’s lot. However, for me I think it’s under powered. My next vehicle will have NO Turbo, AWD or CVT. Less stuff to breakdown and maintain.
deposited money on September, and I just picked up the EX in the same color of this video, the snow white pearl, 2022, just before the thanxgiving day.... LOVING it... It only got 100 miles now(well, 98 to be exact... LOL), but I LOVE the amenities it has, safety equipment, headlights that come on at night(I LOVE it), new for 2022, 10.25 inch screen with navi for all trim levels but the base, and everything about the car. I've been driving an old 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix for more than 10+ years, so, this car is a lot smaller and less powerful, but I find it easier to maneuver, and since it's much higher than that sedan I've been driving, it does not feel small that much... Since the clowns at GM killed my favorite brand, it's time for me to help my native country KOREA by buying Korean... I LOVE my new car... 🙂
Very good job, Sir! I like the size of the Seltos. Do you know if you will get the turbo top trim? Maybe just for a short video. I would like to see it and your take on it. The Seltos appears to be another homerun for Kia! Just not into a CVT or IVT.
Please, for the love of all that is good and inexpensive (like Kia) - share the merits of this model and why you enjoy it so much. There seems to be a lot of haters commenting everywhere and they go into great detail about their distaste. But it would be refreshing to hear about someone who is satisfied with their Seltos! Have owned a 2010 Sportage Active for the past 6 years and never had a single problem with any aspect of the car, be it motor, transmission or in general. Thinking of buying a Seltos soon.
A good comprehensive review! Great job. In the S trim FWD, it is real competition for the Soul EX which is high on my list for my next car. The Soul EX includes more equipment that I want than the Seltos S and it amazed me to see that they have almost the same fuel economy. What the S does not have (but the Soul EX has) includes these: 10" screen, heated power driver seat, dual auto climate control, Sirius XM radio, smart key push button start, blind spot/rear cross traffic alerts, plus some other minor things). Oooooops, maybe the Soul is better for me since I do not want or need AWD. I actually like the look of the Seltos more and it has a bit more storage in back. So no decision yet and I will try to drive them back to back.
Thank you Thomas! Those extra features on the soul are definitely nice and it’s a great value too. Definitely a tough decision. I’d you drive them let me know what you think! 👍
The Soul is an excellent vehicle, as I had one prior to my Seltos, but you might eventually start wishing you had a bit more cargo space on those trips to the grocery store and other shopping trips (and if you golf). I know the specs don't show that the cargo space in the Seltos is that much bigger, but it sure seems significantly bigger in usage.
I don't want anybody else to experience this frightening situation. Some people's Kia/Hyundai's are even starting on fire because of this issue. Even while parked and off! Kia malfunctions and I still owed about $6000 on the financing. --- Before I get into the engine failure, the first issue was my Kia Sorento not starting when I turned the key. This should have been a recall but they forced me (and others) to buy a new battery before they could diagnose the cause of the problem. CAA tested my battery and refused to give me a new one because their machine gave the battery a 'pass'. I also knew the battery couldn't have been the cause of the no-start issue. The cause of the no-start issue is a flaw in the security system that immobilizes the vehicle. If the user presses lock twice on the key fob, the following attempt at starting the engine would be seen by the vehicle as an unauthorized key/method being used to start the vehicle. --- OK, back to the engine failure issue, I was just contacted by Transport Canada several weeks after filing my initial report with them concerning the stalling of my 2015 Kia Sorento on the highway while I was with my wife and my 2 year old son. After the vehicle was restarted and having exited the highway, the engine began knocking loudly. I took immediately to Mr. Lube who had always done my oil changes and other services, they showed my the oil level was fine and told me to have it inspected. I took it to Plaza Kia the following morning who diagnosed it and in their final report stated the cause of the engine failure was lack of lubrication. Well, there was plenty of oil in there and I began reading many other people having this issue around the Canada and the USA. I even had the computer updated which was supposed to have extended my drivetrain warranty to 10 years and/or 200,000km. The service department still said I had to pay almost $10,000 for a new motor. This issue is not limited to the Kia Sorento. Many Kia/Hyundai motors in various models are experiencing this catastrophic mechanical failure. -- My 2015 Kia Sorento was one of their defective models that developed engine failure in early December of 2020. Many of their vehicles should have been recalled but Hyundai/Kia has failed to do the right thing. Do not buy Hyundai or Kia before googling Hyundai Kia engine failures and fires. They had no interest in caring for me as a customer. They just told me I should buy a new Kia. All good info! My friends 18’ Kia Soul got an oil change at 6x,xxx miles and then 3 days later, possibly due to a “loose” filter, experienced engine failure due to loss of oil. But the oil didn’t just drip out over time due to this “loose filter”, it exploded all over the back of the car while she drove and there was a very loud noise she described. The oil change shops insurance paid 6800 for an “engine rebuild” through Kia but I’m wondering if the pressure just built up in the engine and something exploded. She had put tons of miles on it due to driving 10 hours a day for Uber for months and it started to shake before the oil change was done. I’ll never buy a Kia or Hyundai. Engines just don’t hold up. This car is what she wants next so I told her I’d take a look. 🤦🏻♀️ it will be the same outcome IMO.
