I just seen this supplement at Costco on sale. It’s only been 3 days but I have noticed a difference. I’ve had a few accidents where my back and neck have been injured, so lots of body joint ache, carpal tunnel from work and lots of job stress, tired and exhausted everyday. Third day taking this, my body immediately was a huge recovery. My neck and back didn’t feel tight, I felt energized, had mental clarity to work. I quickly looked up some info on this supplement because I was like Wow! And I found this video. So I gave the bottle to my mom that also had a lot of back problems and is diabetic. I’ll give an update later on her progress with this supplement.

Just how Grateful are we to have Thomas going out of his way to constantly keep up to date with the medical literature on nutrition. Find another channel or source that goes as in depth as he does, he might not be a Top of the class Scholar or the #1 nutritionist, but his work ethic and drive to do all this, his passion to put this information out there, knowing all well this is super complex info and requires domain knowledge context, yet does his best to use analogues / visuals / etc to help us understand. All this just speaks volumes about his personality and character. You truly have been a role model to me, thank you for everything Mr. Thomas.

Astaxanthin is also sustainable to produce, especially if it is algae based. As you may know it contains 225 mcg (not mg) of Esterified Astaxanthin along with 262 mg of Phospholipids, 65 mg of Docosahexaenoic Acid and 126 mg of Eicosapentaenoic Acid and 750 mg of the Krill + Fish Oil Complex mix. @moomin7461
@moomin7461 Год назад
@@MySilverSprings The evidence is lacking in that regard, and in most cases it says "could" or "might", but there are other studies which show astaxanthin may inhibit the aromatase enzyme. This enzyme converts testosterone to estradiol. Estradiol is a major form of estrogen (female hormone). The truth is, they don't know for sure, but there have been no major reported side effects of astaxanthin to date. I would suggest starting on the lowest dose (4 mg) as that would be sufficient for most people.
@vapeking466
@vapeking466 10 месяцев назад
@@MySilverSprings Astaxanthin can increase testosterone levels in men by blocking its conversion to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Since testosterone can also be converted by the body to estradiol, an estrogen hormone that, in excess, can lead to breast enlargement in men (gynecomastia), concern has been raised that astaxanthin may indirectly increase the risk of gynecomastia by increasing testosterone levels. However, there is no evidence that taking astaxanthin increases levels of estradiol or the risk of breast enlargement.

To be honest, Thomas is continuing these videos to inform us. However exercise, workout, and eat only whole foods as a balanced diet and you’ll be on a winner. I love Thomas so please don’t get me wrong, real whole foods and nothing processed including breads pasta bleached rice or anything with high carbs will give you the win. The amount of veggies you can eat and still stay bellow 30-50g of carbs is insanity. Remember health is most important for all of our family especially when we have kids to stay healthy for. 🙏

Can you make another video on prolonged fasting for people who have average diets? Like I eat fast foods, burgers, wings, pizzas few times weekly and eat home cooked meals the other times. Will prolonged fasting still work or does the shitty diet counter act it. Just wondering if I should even be trying it before I can get a handle on diet

there's no toxicity levels for astaxanthin. Imagine a salmon flesh becoming pink, a shrimp also, the flamingos, it's because of the astaxanthin they consume. See the Valasta brand that is more bioavailable. Some people consume more than 100mg per day with no problem, except red stools...
@sebk174
@sebk174 Год назад
@@Myself500 Almost every compound has positive effects and negative effects. But you only hear about the good effects. Negative effects can occur over a long time. If your stools turns red or your skin i would think about that.

@@Myself500 High-doses of Astaxanthin (like 24mg/day) can silence 5-alpha-reductase and lead to PFS (Post Finasterid Syndrome) - permanent libido loss.

Taking 4mg per day should be enough for most people. Astaxanthin is fat soluble, so if you take less, it just takes longer to build up in the body.

How does it compare to melatonin? Everything always "compared" to vit C
@gazorpazorp9798
@gazorpazorp9798 Год назад
Melatonin isn’t an antioxidant whereas Vit C, hence the comparison.
@nathanklein4538
@nathanklein4538 Год назад
Yes melatonin is anti oxidant in effect as hormone. Just like "vitamin"d3 also a hormone. But this is much stronger in basic chemical strength but, the hormone effect will be more important
@gazorpazorp9798

@@nathanklein4538 I thought melatonin was more of a “master control”style hormone as opposed to a more “direct” style antioxidant like Vit c.

I always wonder if and how to stack those longevity compounds. I mean, how do you know that there isn't some interaction between them. Is there any information on this out there? Or a more sensible protocol.
@NofirstnameNolastname
@NofirstnameNolastname Год назад
There definitely isn't something like that. I've had the same thoughts as well and honestly I dunno. For me most sensible seems to alter between different ones every month or so. But who knows if that's actually the way to go. I once heard talk about how it can make your own body's own anti oxidant systems lazy. And there's probably a more isn't neccesarily better deal with this as well.
@moomin7461
@moomin7461 Год назад
I would suggest taking smaller amounts rather than excessive doses of any supplement and give your body time to respond to each supplement before adding another. In terms of astaxanthin, it could lower blood pressure and thin the blood, so that is something to bear in mind if you are taking any medication or supplements that have a similar effect.
